The service provided by Chris and his son was good. They came on time and cleaned after them selves. This was a smooth installation of a ceiling light box. Nothing crazy where we had to cut walls etc and but it took five hours. I had two electrician give me a quote for 300/350 to do the same thing. I felt it could have been done more efficiently, therefore saved me $. They arrived around 11:30 and didn't start the actual process of opening the attic and going up there until 12:30, it took about an hour to bring tools up. And after that it took another good 4 hours. I have had the same type of work done by a licensed electrician before for much less time and therefore less $. I will call Chris and sons again but will only work on set price bases, as the per hour can get out of hand if you are not working at a good pace and getting over charged.
Description of Work: Had a ceiling light box installed. Had electric wire run from the attic to the wall plate in the room.

I would have asked to see their License and Insurance, I bet they had neither – I have both. Additionally, if you get 3 electricians in the same room, they will often tell you 3 ways to do a project, usually, 1 is the cheapest in quality, 1 may be down right un-safe. You hired us to do a high quality and safe job, and do it by the local codes – even if you did not, I do not do things any other way. I do not bid jobs, not that I lack the ability, rather, I feel hourly is fair to both parties. How many contractors say “we did it in way less time” and reduce the bill? This one came in at what it SHOULD have been properly bid at , I wont apologize for that. It is worth noting that this was performed on the top floor of a 3 level town home – requiring an additional 8 foot ladder to access your attic hole – that we had to crawl 30 feet in - to install a new box and tie to the two receptacles on a switch as requested. Further, that you insisted that we wear foot protection each time we brought up tools and supplies, we stock them too. The ambient temperature in your attic will often reach over 100 degrees, I upsize my wire and its’ raceway to prevent wire overheating, overkill ? Perhaps, but in my professional opinion, a little overkill beats even a 1 in a million fire risk.

Chris and his apprentice arrived on time and did a great job installing an external gfci outlet I needed to power a pond aerator. They finished with in the 2 hour coupon window and only charged for parts. I'll definitely use them again for further electrical work.

It went fine. He ran into some complications beyound his control while installing the new ceiling fan. Unknowingly, I purchased a fan that appeared to had been returned and the wrong screws were in the box. He used his own screws and he ended up going over the two hour deal by an hour.

They were very good. It was just one guy and he was very good. He was prompt. He was very good and his price was reasonable. He knew exactly what the problem was and had the part in his truck. He gave me feedback about the rest of the house, it?s my mom?s house. I will hire him again. I was getting the house ready for sale so I needed to have everything checked. I paid more than the big deal of $75.

Took two workers five hours to cut a 3x4 inch hole in floor, run about 6 feet flexible conduit to a preexisting junction box and a install floor outlet box we provided. Contractor said our floor was very hard and difficult to cut, but five hours with two workers is excessive, especially since it was to an unfinished basement. To put things in perspective we had an entire radon mitigation system installed by two workers in less than five hours which involved cutting holes in concrete, two floors, the roof, installing PVC tubing, flashing the roof and installing a blower fan which had to be wired, with flexible conduit, to a junction box they had to install themselves in a nearby section of hard conduit. I bought two hours through Angie's List thinking this kind of job could reasonably be done in 2-3 hours. With $89 an hour charge, for an additional three hours, I was very surprised at the cost of this project. Perhaps my fault for not getting a firm time estimate/commitment up front. Seemed like an excessive amount of time for set up, which we were charged for.

The Handyman was on time and completed the process in two (2) hours. All four (4) fans are completed and are ready for the Summer Season. If there were any questions along the way the Handyman took the time to respond to our questions with a complete explanation. The provider worked very hard to complete the project and we found the cost of $ 79.00 was very very reasonable. We are now considering in hiring this company to complete additional electrical work in the future as we have considered them to be a Class A+ company and would have no problem in hiring them once again.
Description of Work: Completed installation of power to four (4) Ceiling Fans after installing three (3) of the fans to that point in the ceiling. This left me with only part of the installation such as the paddles, to complete the installation.

Although there was some confusion on the arrival time, we eventually got started somewhat late (aim for the first appointment in the morning, since all service providers can run into difficulties when they arrive at the job, affecting their later appointments). Chris diagnosed and fixed the issue with my ceiling fan, so I did not have to purchase a new one. Then he figured out how to get all of the basement lights in my 1937 house on one circuit (very confusing with the generations of wiring that was done by professionals and non-professionals). Chris was dedicated, very careful not to let the cats out of the house, and stayed far past the planned time to get the job done. I would use him again. Perhaps in the future, I might schedule a full day of electrical work to alleviate the scheduling / arrival time issues.

They replaced worn out parts in 2 bathroom ceiling fans. The work was done well and in a reasonable amount of time. The fans are working very well, They took the time to thoroughly clean the dust that had accumulated prior to replacing the parts. They also cleaned and checked a high ceiling fan suspended from a cathedral ceiling in the living room. They cleaned it exceptionally well - it was loaded with dust and it now looks new. they also checked to make sure it was operating correctly. They had to use scaffolding due to the height of the fan. They were very neat, clean and considerate; They used drop cloths and cleaned up before they left. They were great - I would call then again! Well worth the price to have a licensed electrician replace the fan parts and cleaning the fan was a lot of work.
Description of Work: They replaced worn out parts in 2 bathroom ceiling fans. (Labor only as I had the parts.) Cleaned and checked a living room fan ceiling fan suspended from a 2 story cathedral ceiling. since they had put up the scaffolding, I asked if they would mind also cleaning the blinds on a very highly placed window in the living room and they were very willing to do that as well.

First - you never sent a contact telephone number, and when you did, you did not send the latest time we could call it. It had only been 2 days after you booked on the list before you threatened to write our first F - if we did not fix your light THAT DAY. We only asked for the info once, you gave the number twice on the same day. We have customers who have patiently waited for our low cost, honest and dependable service. We would not have bumped them for you anyway, had you given me a latest time I could call you, we may have tried to up a Sunday emergency call - at a regular rate.. Not sure you would have been happy regardless, having said that, we never intend to disappoint any customer on or off the list, and in fact, have a very high rating for the other 99%, sorry we missed the mark.

In our defense, the overseas vendor you purchased from had sent the wall/box mounting straps for your 4 sconce fixtures up to be installed on electric boxes that were mounted horizontally, yours were not. So we used our own stock straps that were universal, and yes, they were different, and therefore, a bit more challenging. But they turned out nice, thank you for the nice review.

Actually, we said we were going to be far more expensive on a panel swop then some of the other Electricians on the list, and therefore did not recommend us. The manufacturer of the panel that you have is extinct - for a reason, the breakers did not turn off when they were suppose to. We are very protective of our Insurance and License. We did not feel comfortable adding a circuit breaker to a bankrupt panel - though we can still get parts, we prefer not to. Thank you for the nice review though.

He called ahead of time to let use know when he would arrive and then arrived on time. he removed the system as expected and did it without making much of a mess, making sure that he cleaned up after himself. He was friendly and very polite. A pleasure to work with. I asked his advice on a couple of other projects and he was honest about the need (or lack thereof) to take them on, which was greatly appreciated. I would strongly recommend working with them again.

I'm really late in writing this review, but since he did a good job, better late than never. I purchased an electrician for a day. I had plenty work to do and Chris worked the extra hours (at a fee) to finish the job. There was not a ceiling electric box in one of the bedrooms. Chris installed the junction box and installed a high end celling fan. I also remodeled my kitchen. Chris took down the ceiling fan, put a plate over that junction box and then ran wiring and installed 3 light fixtures over the island. He did a good job, he was respectful of my house, and cleaned up after himself. The only problem I had is that it took a while to get on his appointment book since i had purchased a whole day. Over all for the quality of work and the price he was worth it.

We went over it prior to installing the box. Anytime you alter or add to an existing dwelling – that the original contractor did not account for, They're always obstacles that an electrician will have to try to accommodate. These can range from large ductwork for central air,to a variety of water, gas, and existing electrical piping that is in our way. We never know until we remove the drywall or plaster, what we're in for. Anytime you have a fixture going in you do have the ability to tighten less on one screw and still have it be even on the ceiling and safe, perhaps you should of had me install the light fixture as well, as it would've looked perfectly level from the ground.I believe we also went over that as well, and you decided to install it yourself, which was perfectly okay with me. If you went through every house that had something added, pulling off the drywall or plaster you would run out of paper listing all the imperfections, however, that being said, we're sorry you were not 100% pleased with the job that we did proceeding yours

After I purchased the 2-hours of electrical work from the vendor I was contacted within 48 hours for details. The first thing that I was told is it would be almost 8 weeks until he could show up for the work. I was disappointed that was not made clear in his Angie's List post, as I may looked for a different deal. I then provided him the details of the 2 jobs that I had hoped he would complete: 1) Run a 220-volt line for a dryer and 2) install new plug in basement for refrigerator. During our first conversation he indicated that they should be completed, but asked if I had a preference for the job and I said that I wanted the 220 line. About 4 weeks before he was to show up he contacted me again and asked me some technical terms on the wiring. I am fairly handy but do not know much about electrical wiring, and after a 5-minute conversation he requested that I text him pictures of the areas that I needed the work. I heard back from him a few days before the job started and that was the first time he indicated he didn't think that the 220 line could be done. When he showed up about 20 minutes early he discussed the job in more detail with my wife, and again stated he had concerns about getting the job done. I showed up at my house after he had been there for 15 minutes and he had begun to look around all of the wiring in the house. He and I then spent the next two hours pulling out existing wires, to get one for length, and trying to then re-run 5 wires through a 1/2" pipe and several turns. After the two hours were up we had not gotten the wires down the piping. He then spent the next 40 minutes running back the wires he had pulled out, without any additional work being done. At the end of the job he said to me "I was worried about this job and I didn't think that it would be able to get completed." A few things about this job: - I am new to the area and was not aware that the electrical code for this area was metal piping. - Chris was very communicative before the job via several phone calls & texts to get the information - Job was to run the necessary 220 wires through 50 ft of piping with 3 turns and the thickness of the wire did not allow the job to be done. In order to actually do the work I wanted, we would have needed to tear out the wall, run new piping and pull the wires through the new piping. That job would have cost me $400-$500, I ended up buying a new gas dryer. I do wish that Chris had been firmer at the beginning and told me that he didn't think it was going to be done. I still have the need for a new plug to be put in my basement, which I still need to do. I appreciate the honesty during the work but will not be using his services in the future. One thing he indicated is most of his work & calls are 6-8 weeks out in schedule.
Description of Work: No electrical work was completed. During the two hour time-frame Chris was unable to pull the necessary wires for my 220-dryer line.

Well, I was very firm, in fact, I suggested a gas dryer would have been a better option from the start. I never try to talk a customer out of any direction though, it is my job to try and save you money, but also, to do as you ask. The 2 - #10 wires can be run in the existing conduit per the National Electrical Code. However, I stated several times that it simply means its allowable - not that it is always possible - you wanted to forge on - so I did. Sorry it did not work out, I never like to be the bearer of bad news - but that is all I was, and did try to express my concerns from the start.

Removed existing ceiling fixture. Cut into ceiling for installation of two 4 inch can lights. Had to re-route existing water drain pipe in ceiling from upstairs bathroom drain. Had to run new conduit to encase wires for the new can light. They prepared the area with moving pads to prevent damage to floor and bathroom sink. Cleaned up after the basic installation of the fixtures. Of note, Chris called several days prior to our scheduled work day, just to be sure no last minute changes on my plans. Chris is extremely professional, and I mean this in the most positive way. He explained everything he was doing and confirmed that he was doing everything within "code". He finished his part and now I have to find someone to repair the drywall portion of the ceiling. I would be very comfortable to hire Chris again for future electrical issues in my home, without reservations.
