Kevin is a friendly guy and was very responsive to get the bid done. Overall the project did what it was supposed to and the cost was appropriate, but small issues occurred throughout the project. The were many delays in starting the project due to weather delays form other projects. He had bid to replace the damaged wood on the porch but informed me after they started that this was too big a job and that they would just putty the wood and that this was not a lot of the cost. He had said he could do the composite decking but did know the products and had problems with the installation. It ended up fine but there is a screw sticking out and screws that were drilled too far into the material. The wood they used to replace the eaves had knots and they did not prime those appropriately and they are showing through the paint. There was a disagreement over whether they should be responsible for painting the wood surrounding the new storm windows so I did did those myself. I had to find the molding (at Home Depot special orders) to match the ones that had to be replaced due to a different thickness of the new and old stairs since Kevin said it was not available. I think the project was done well but I would recommend that everything be worked out in detail in advance and in writing.

My husband and I had been collecting estimates to put a complete second floor addition on our house, but we became frustrated with the process after several months. A neighbor friend recommended that we try Kevin's company because he had completed their addition, as well as others on our block. Kevin provided us with an estimate very quickly and within a few days we had a signed agreement and contract. In discussing the details of our addition, Kevin was able to draw on his experiences and offer very good ideas and solutions that we had not previously considered. We were impressed by his expediency and attention to detail. Work began on the date promised and the roof was removed in one day. Kevin and his crew worked vigorously to get the second floor erected and enclosed, including working Saturday and Sunday. Once the second floor was enclosed, the framing, trades and finish work was completed quickly. During the process, some surprises arose, but we expected some due to the age and original plumbing and electrical in our bungalow. Kevin was able to deal with the unexpected problems quickly and any additional charges were minimal. My husband and I have two very young children and Kevin and his crew were always kind and courteous to the entire family. We are very pleased with the final product and would recommend Kevin's company to others.

Kevin came to the house and we discussed the project. He gave us a written estimate within 48 hours and gave us a couple of suggestions that we had not thought of. Kevin's price was a little higher than the other quote, but we hired him because he convinced us he would do the job well and on time. The project was started on time and finished on time. The quality was very good. Kevin delivered everything he promised. There were a couple of small problems we found after the job was complete. Keven came right back and finished them off. We are very pleased. We would use Kevin again and would recommend him to others.

Kevin's price was HALF that of a well known local company who specializes in building exterior "porches." McTague Builders shows up when they say they are going to - ready to work. The workmanship was outstanding as was the quality and price. Good people, a few laughs. Great Chicago company. The owner either shows up every day to manage the work or performs the work himself.

Overall, Mr. McTague and crew did a very professional installation of my Marvin bow window. He is a certified Marvin window contractor and proved it! Mr. McTague came out and remeasured my windows to be sure I had ordered the windows correctly. He then gave me an estimate on the installation of my windows and when he could start the job. He gave me a real time start and finish. He showed up on time and not only was considerate of my family life with children and dog, but did an awesome job with crew in cleaning up each day with tools, equipment, etc. We were very pleased with the timely manner of the installation, was true to the project budget and did A+ quality work.

Mr. Mctague came to check out the bathrooms, he gave us a bid that was competitive with other companies. He supplied all permits. He came to do the work on the day he promised. His workers were friendly and respectful. He was on the job daily as promised and completed the work in the estimated time frame. The work was done to my satisfaction.

Mr. Mc Tague Came to our house for the initial estimate and started the work two weeks later. Through the work process the project was clean and professional and finished on schedule. Now we have double the living space and have no complaints. We plan to put an addition on next summer and will definitely use Mc Tague Builders.
