We obtained the primary bid in March 2010, but did not finalize the costs until June 2010 due to our schedule and deciding on exactly what we wanted to do in the room. Through that time frame, Jack was very courteous and followed up at regular intervals to check in with us. He was very professional throughout the project. We agreed to start on July 7th. Jack and his crew arrived right about 8:30 ready to go. They quickly assessed the scope of work, put down drop cloths from the back door all the way through the house to the bedroom and immediately got started. Within the next 10 days they got the new wall framed for the window, drywall installed, taped, mudded and sanded. We had the weekend to paint the trim and the room before the finish carpenter showed up on Monday morning to install all the trim. NOTE: Carpenter did an EXCELLENT job! I'm in the construction business and I know how bad or good this should be. We are just tickled with the finished product. It feels like we did a new addition to the house! We are very, very happy with JK Complete Remodeling and would strongly recommend them for any remodel project you have.
Description of Work: Our project entailed remodeling a room that needed a new window installed (reframing a new opening was required), new drywall installed, closet doors hung, trim work, some minor electrical work (moving a junction box) and adding insulation in a crawl space. We did the demolition down to the studs in preparation for JK Complete Remodeling to do their work.

I contacted Jack (the owner) during a weekend asking for a quote. He stopped by within a few days to prepare an estimate. Two days after that he called us with a verbal quote and followed up with a written quote shortly thereafter. The quote was detailed and spelled out exactly the work that would be performed. We asked for a start date of 5/21/10, and he was able to accommodate that request. On 5/21 one of Jack's painters showed up promptly at the time he was supposed to. He worked quickly and effectively. He was very accommodating of any request we made and had no problem touching up areas that didn't cover well. He was also very neat. At the end of each day everything was put away with no clutter of painting supplies and equipment in our unit. The job was finished three days ahead of schedule, and we were completely satisfied with the work.
Description of Work: We hired JK Complete Remodeling & Construction to paint the interior of our townhome. Extensive patching and repairs were required due to nail pops and cracks on corner beads of the drywall throughout our unit. After all repairs were done two coats of paint were applied to all the walls, ceiling, doors, and trim.

We bought a 1920 bungalow in need of lot of repairs before we were able to move in, so we were in a time and money crunch to get this done. We first browsed Angie?s List to look for contractors. While some called back, some others did not. Jaceck (Jake) returned our call within 24 hours and made an appointment to meet us at our place. He walked around and we explained what we wanted to do, within 30 minutes he had an idea and promised to give us an estimation within the next 2 days. He came back on a Saturday with a very detailed proposal that was very reasonable (compared with another estimate we received from a very arrogant contractor/architect). In addition, Jake was very personable and we felt very comfortable giving him keys of our house right away to start the work. Jake estimated 5 to 7 weeks of work, starting the weekend after we meet. We were surprised when we walked in the house on Tuesday to find half of the basement gone. The whole work took around 6 weeks (March 16 to May 22), some of the delays was due to us not having all the material needed for him, since we had to provide it. However, as soon as we got the material he had someone coming and working right away. Our all experience working with Jake was amazing. We had a vision of what we want, and he helped and guided us to achieve our goal. He always listened and suggested better ways to do the job. The house turned way better than we expected or imagine, and we highly recommend you to use Jake for any remodel or house-fix job.

This was a relatively small job in terms of basement refinishes. I had about a 300 square foot area in my unfinished basement that I wanted walled off, painted, etc. to use as a workshop area. The enclosure was primarily to keep dust away (but really, also, because I hate bugs.) Jake and his guys were eager to help. despite the "smallness" of the task, and after work was underway it went rather quickly. Most of the time elapsed was for negotiating the contract, and then waiting for the village inspections and approvals. Speaking of which, the inspectors found some issues with my house construction unrelated to the room they built for me. Jake was able to fix the issues up to pass without issue. Originally I had planned to paint the room myself. I actually bought all the paint and started doing it, but quickly remembered how much I hated painting. They took on that job for me too. I will definitely consider this company for our planned remodels in other areas of the house.
Description of Work: * Framed room in my unfinished basement. * Insulated exterior walls and ceiling * Installed drywall on all walls and ceiling * Installed trim and access panels * Painted walls, ceiling * Painted floor (w/epoxy cement paint) * Handled all pre-existing issues with my house uncovered by inspection (at small additional cost.)

This was our first major home project that would require a contractor and we were nervous to say the least. You hear horror stories about contractors not showing up on time, cutting corners, extending deadlines and coming up with unexpected expenses. Jack blew through all those stereotypes and made the process virtually painless. He was incredibly flexible and responsive. He picks up his phone practically on the first ring and if you get his voicemail, he'll call you back within minutes. His team was respectful, very clean and produced quality work. The project went so smoothly and was finished before we knew it. Jack also accommodated some last minute requests. As we were going through the process, we realized that we would like some outlets moved in other areas of our home and we wanted to mount a TV above the fireplace. Jack quoted us quickly for the additional work and once we agreed to move forward, the additional projects were done in tandem with the work already in motion. Again, we never imagined the process could be so simple. My husband and I would recommend Jack and his team to anyone who needs any type of work from small projects to big demo jobs. We joke now that when we're ready to move to a new house, we'll look at homes and not be discouraged by potential renovations because we know "Jack can do it." Its great to know we now have a reliable source for the future.
Description of Work: Jack and his team opened up two walls of our kitchen, installed kitchen cabinets, recessed lighting and put up a tile backsplash. Because the walls that were being taken down had a lot of our homes electrical wiring, they also moved our thermostat, door bell and additional switches. In addition to the kitchen remodel, they also installed outlets and cable above our fireplace so we could install a flat screen TV and moved some additional outlets in our dining room and foyer.

After signing the contract and deciding on a start date, Jake started the job on time. The first day, Jake, his sub and I reviewed the entire project to make sure all 3 of us were in agreement with what was to be done. His worker showed up every day and worked a full day. He was very professional and was more than happy to answer all my questions. The project was estimated to take 5 or 6 days and while it took a few days longer, the job was completed to my satisfaction and on budget. I have since hired him to do additional work for me.
Description of Work: I have small bathroom in a 1950's home which I gutted. I selected and provided all the furnishings and the contractor was responsible for minor electrical, relocating some plumbing (and bringing the rest of the plumbing up to code), drywall, tiling the shower area and main floor, setting the commode, vanity, lights, etc. The only finishing item that I was responsible for was the painting and because of my schedule they even did the finished painting.

Great! They did everything I asked and was impressed with the carpentry. The responsiveness was outstanding. For the second time, I called them with a last minute request and they came through. They even went to the store to purchase a piece that I was missing. Excellent service.
Description of Work: I remodeled a bathroom myself and needed assistance with the finishing touches. Jack and his associate provided many different services. They installed the wall lights, shower finish, toilet paper holder, towel rack, towel hook and mirrors. They also did the door trim, baseboard and an octagonal window trim. Additional caulking as necessary.

Overall, the quality of the work is good. My only real gripe is the need to micro-manage the project. I wanted the new construction to be as seamless as possible with the rest of the vintage building. I often felt that Jack had his own vision of the project and if I didn't anticipate his crew's next move that I would end up with something other than my vision. I think things would have been smoother had I been able to be on site more often, but my work schedule was such that I could only come home at night, review the work and leave Jack messages for the next day.

I contacted several remodeling/construction companies that were all highly rated on Angies List. What impressed me the most about Jack was his willingness to please and how much he valued his top notch reputation. He wants to make certain that his customers are highly satsisfied. He succeeded beyond my very "demanding" expectations. Way to go!
Description of Work: Jack and his hardworking, skilled, and considerate crew performed ALL remodeling tasks essential to transforming a 1950's home into a contemporary 2010 model. They provided all necessary skills needed, from "soup to nuts." There wasn't anything that they couldn't do. And they did everything willingly and in a first class manner. He is absolutely the "best" and I have used many different contractors in the past so this is a well deserved compliment.

Excellent- Jack was very responsive to any questions we had. Ralph was punctual , worked very hard , was thorough and did a great job cleaning up at the end of the day. We were very pleased with the end result!
Description of Work: Remodeled bathroom. I started as a DIY- Originally called Jack for quote to hang drywall & mud but also asked for quote to complete job - his pricing was very fair and I had read the good reports on Angie's list - also they were able to complete the work much faster than I could have - so we let them finish the whole job. They completed from gut - including drywall, electric, tile, plumbing, & new glass block window installation

The vast majority of the work occurred back in January and Jack's crew were back on March 19th to just take care of a few minor items (loosened towel rack, drip under one sink, and dab some paint behind the side of the vanity) that we'd noted after living in the new bathroom for several weeks. From the initial inquiry/estimate/quote back in November through this final check on how things were going, Jack was always readily available on his cell phone or in person and his two man was always very courteous, hard working, and did a great job. Think the bulk of the work took about 6 (full) week days.
Description of Work: Our 2nd floor family bathroom was original to our 40+ year home and in need of upgrading. The 5 ft x 10 ft space was effectively "gutted" (ceiling and some side-wall wallboard was left intact). The following items were removed and new items installed: tub, tub wall tile, shower curtain rod, toilet, floor tile, dual sink vanity and counter top, wall mirror (replaced with two in-set medicine cabinets/mirrors) light fixture above sinks/mirrors, ceiling ventilation fan, and all sink/tub/shower/towel/tp fixtures. We shopped for and purchased all these items; however, J&K picked up and transported all the major (sized) items to the house. J&K also cleaned up and disposed of all old items/material. The $11,000 figure includes all materials and J&K's labor.

We were looking for an honest and reliable contractor as we had two very bad (prior to belonging to Angie's List) experiences. JK Remodeling had a good reputation so we interviewed them along with three other companies. Jack from JK was knowledgeable, thorough and responsive. His prices were comparable to one other bid, and lower than 2 others. We chose JK Remodeling because of our confidence in Jack. Our confidence was confirmed and rewarded by JK's work. Jack was always very responsive, polite and patient in explaining things, open to working with us on changes, and helpful in making suggestions. He always delivered what he said he would, and he and his workers were unfailingly professional. We had to re-do the electrical in the basement to get everything up to code after the previous owner left things a mess. We also moved a toilet in the master bath and then added tile flooring. JK also re-did some drywall and painted. Jack handled all the inspections and everything passed without problems. JK Remodeling also handled a few smaller jobs that we decided to have done (as often happens with remodeling) and they did so quickly even though they were not originally scheduled to be done. We could not be more pleased with working with JK Remodeling. My wife was home most of the time, and she was really happy with the respect for the house and the way the workers cleaned up after each day's work. Jack and JK exceeded our expectations in every aspect -- it's what working with a contractor should be! We'll definitely call on JK Remodeling again in the future whenever we want more work done.

I required a last minute project and they went out of their way to provide the necessary services. I made the request, a visit was made to discuss the project and the work was all completed within one week. They also worked on a Saturday for me to meet me deadline. I was very happy with the work and their willingness to meet my extreme requirements for time.

I highly, highly recommend J.K. Complete Remodeling and can't rave enough about how competitive, reliable, thorough, and knowledgeable he and his staff are. I used J.K Complete Remodeling for a wide variety of home repairs including a complete gut and refinish of my basement (removing concrete, removing and rebuilding walls, running electrical, installing a new bathroom which included very detailed tile work, running a gas line, re-running a main water pipe, installing baseboards, framing a window, and custom cutting doors), painting, hanging light fixtures and mirrors, patching walls etc. I am so happy with the work J.K Complete Remodeling did and recommend them to everyone. I recommend J.K Complete Remodeling for 3 key reasons: 1. Jack has a full-time set of guys who work for him, so rather than sub-contracting the work to various different companies, you get to work with the same guys every day (I loved Rafal and Mike and enjoyed seeing them every morning). 2. Jack's team can do ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. At first I was skeptical that the quality of each and every job might be at risk because who can be specialized in everything, right?! Wrong. Jack's guys know how to do EVERYTHING and they tackle each project like it is their specialty. 3. Jack is very dependable; he stops by the job site often, calls to check in with you frequently, and he always answers his phone when you call. We were facing a tight deadline to complete the work before our move. Jack and his crew were always available to assure us the job would be completed on time. I can't say enough about how happy we are with the work. The service Jack and his guys provided from start to finish was phenomenal. We are very pleased with the finished product and will not hesitate to call Jack again if we need some help down the road.
Description of Work: Finished basement - drywall, drywall ceiling, recessed lighting, new plumbing and bathroom, ran electrical, installed doors, built closet, installed baseboards, ran gas line outside for grill. Bathroom - removed existing tile and installed tile and shower bench. General - installed lighting fixtures, painted nearly whole house, removed built-in shelves and refinished walls, hung mirrors in bathrooms, removed and rebuilt stairs

Based on my Angie's List research, I asked Jacek (Jack) to come out and give an estimate for a complete basement remodeling. Jack came out within a few days of my initial call. I told him what I wanted to do and he was able to give me an estimate in writing on the spot. Jack is very personable and easy to work with. We truly enjoyed our experience working with Jack. The estimate from Jack was in line with other estimates we received but we liked Jack's personality out of all the contractors interviewed. For the remodeling, Jack had a variety of specialists come out to perform the work....carpenters, painters, drywall men, demolition men, etc. His entire crew was professional and courteous. The project took approximately 5 weeks to complete. We are very happy with our new basement and feel we made a great choice in choosing Jack and his company.
Description of Work: Gutted and remodeled existing basement and bathroom. Tiled bathroom floor. Painted bathroom. Installed new shower, toilet, and sink. Replaced drop ceiling with plaster ceiling. Don't let the "B" for Quality mislead you, it is really a "B+ / A - ". I rarely give "A's" for Quality, so this is a pretty good grade. I contacted five contractors and selected JK Complete Remodeling and Construction for two reasons: price and professionalism. I was immediately impressed by Jack's timeliness for providing an estimate, as it clearly demonstrated his willingness to tackle the job. This wasn't a large scale project by any stretch, but some other contractors never followed up after the initial appointment. I am pretty handy and know some of the trade skills, so I tend to watch contractors to see if they cut corners or don't do something to my satisfaction. There were a couple of things that I didn't like, and I brought it to Jack's attention. He quickly rectified the problem to my satisfaction. Overall I am very pleased with the product and service of JK Complete Remodeling and Construction. Jack and his team are very nice to work with, and always courteous and punctual.

We are very happy with this company. The owner is very nice, polite, and the price is the best among the quotes we got. His worker is very professional, they worked long hours( 8 am - 8 pm) to get job down ontime. The are very nice and clean, and responsible. They kept eyes on the faucets and other valualbe material that we bought for remodeling as there are other projects going on at that time, such as painting. And the tile job they have done is awesome! Overall, this is a great company to work with.
Description of Work: They remodeled our master bath and upstair bathroom. We have had other people to remove some old stuff in the bathroom, including turn down a wall, remove the door on the war. Jake's worker remove old tub and they repipe and install a new whirpool. they tile the entire bathroom, and whirlpool, shower(incuding shower base), install the toilet. They also fixed the subfloor as there is a big hole due to leaking.

This was the second project Jack and his men did for us this year. Earlier he completely gutted and remodeled a bathroom for us. As was our experience the first time, this project went off without a hitch. Jack's men are professionals in every sense. They work a full day, show up when they say they will, their work is high quality and they completely clean up every day after themselves. Jack is very easy to work with, doing everything he can to accommodate our schedule. I would not consider hiring any other contractor for our next project.
Description of Work: Removal and replacement of kitchen cabinets and tile backsplash. Installation of pendant ceiling lights and under the cabinet lighting. Installation of island cabinet and electrical work. Connected plumbing.

The process was almost painless. The workers showed up promptly at 8 AM each day, and cleaned up all work spaces prior to leaving at 5 PM each day. This company BY FAR was the best overall that I have ever used on any home that I have owned over the years. If you are really lucky, Ralph will be the person assigned to your job. Ralph respects your property and does a very good job on anything assigned to him.. J & K Complete : This is a small company that wants to grow, and it shows !! They do a better than average job, at a reasonable price by workers who seem to actually take pride in what they do.. Book.. early.. word of mouth will make these guys very busy.. !!
Description of Work: Jack's team gutted Two second floor bathrooms, installed new drywall, removed all old fixtures, and installed new fixtures that I supplied. One coat of paint was applied to the ceiling, and Two coats to the walls. The tile in the showers was installed all the way to the ceiling. The installation of all accessories were also included in the install price ($ 3,000 each bathroom).
