GREEN WITH ENVY LANDSCAPING CO

When we moved into our new home, the lawn was not that healthy as the house was vacant for a while. Come spring, we had a nasty problem with dandelions--it looked horrible. We saw that our neighbor across the street had a nice green lawn so we contacted their lawn company, Green With Envy. Given the state of our lawn, they recommended a spring cleanup (including power raking), an aeration, and then fertilizing. We gave them the go ahead. I informed them that our lawn has a sprinkler system and that we would mark sprinkler heads and valve box covers with flags so that the aeration wouldn't damage them. This is my only real complaint with the company: the person who did the aeration appeared to think that the flags were just decoration. There were a number of cases where there were puncture marks in the valve box covers. In fact, some of the marker flags were bent, as if run over. I complained about this and the owner apologized and said he would talk to his people, but he did not offer anything else. I was willing to let it go because the damage was minimal and the results for the lawn were good. All the weeds were gone and the lawn looked tidier overall. The power raking removed a lot of dead grass and thatch. Within 3-4 days, the lawn became greener and was visibly growing, so we were quite happy with the results. I would've given them an "A" for quality if it weren't for the damaged valve box covers. Our contract with them has them returning for two more fertilizer applications. We didn't contract them to do our weekly mowing, though, as they can be rather expensive. And they're not willing to mow every other week like we wanted, unless we were willing to pay them half the fee for the non-mowing weeks (pay them to not come?). Overall, they're a decent operation. The owner tries to do the best he can--he's friendly, responds quickly, and answers questions patiently.

Rich came out the day after we called him, provided an immediate assessment and quote, and we signed a contract within five minutes. Couldn't have been easier. His crew shows up every Wednesday and leaves the yard neat and tidy. We love coming home to it.

The owner of the company is a hands-on guy. He is very reachable and if there's a problem, he'll get back to you within a reasonable amount of time. All of his workers speak some English, so that's nice. They were all very professional and they did a good job.

They are very informative and dependable. If there are any problems with the grass, they give us helpful hints and ideas that would help keep the grass green, so they don't have to do so many treatments.
