I am very pleased with their work. I had 3 large and 3 smaller trees that were very overgrown, and packed gutters. DM did an excellent job and went above and beyond where needed. While doing the work, several things needing attention that I wasn't aware of, were pointed out to me and taken care of at no extra charge. I received multiple estimates and DM's was the best in terms of value received for the price. Everyone at DM is very responsive and helpful. I highly recommend DM Tree Service - you will not regret using them.

Great experience, trees look good. Only problem was that my cable TV line was broken and nobody told me. Could work on communications. Would hire again.

I don't get prompt responses to my communications. It takes them days to respond to my calls.

The second week of April I contacted DM Tree service. I had used them on the recommendation of a co-worker to have a large crab apple tree removed shortly after we moved into our home in 2011. The service then was great. Quick quote and they were out within the same week to remove the tree. We really couldn't even tell they had been there except for the fact the tree was gone. Something definitely has happened to this company since 2011. While the price really can't be beat, the service overall was just terrible this time. Kurt, the salesperson, came to my home to give me a quote. He came out a few days after I had contacted the company. Kurt is a great guy. Super friendly. Even gave me some tips on other trees and bushes in the yard while he was there. He quoted me $300 for the service and said we would be on the schedule at the end of that same week, if not early the next week. Unfortunately that's where the great service ends. About a week after I'd returned our signed contract, I still had no call from the and quot;schedulerand quot; they said would be in contact with me. I called Kurt and he said he'd contact them for me. I finally heard back (Mother's day at 9pm) from the scheduler that I would be on the schedule for the following week Thursday and quot;early in the morning.and quot; So, Thursday (several weeks after the quote now) and quot;early morningand quot; came and went. At about 11am I called Kurt to see if someone was coming. 5:45pm came and I still had not heard a thing. I left Kurt a text. Around 9pm I got a text from him and I asked for the owner's number. The next morning I got a call from Erica the scheduler/office manager who apologized for not calling, then claimed she had and quot;tried to call me but I probably didn't recognize the number.and quot; She claimed that A)they had been really busy and B)they had guessed I wouldn't want the work done in the rain because it and quot;might get too muddy for me.and quot; I told them nowhere in my contract did it say they don't perform work if it's a little wet outside. After this I called David, the owner, and told him I wanted the work done now or I'd take my business elsewhere. He also tried to tell me I didn't want my yard and quot;too muddyand quot; but I explained to him you don't just blow a customer off. You can make a phone call at the very least. I also asked for him to take some money off my quote which he claimed he was not able to do. In the end I got $50 taken off the price. They did show up the same morning following these conversations. The trees were taken down and cleaned up properly. It's really unfortunate this business is run so poorly with such poor customer service. They do a decent job, and charge a reasonable price, but the customer service (aside from Kurt who went out of his way) was just horrible.

The estimator, Kurt was fantastic. Showed up on time, looked professional, answered all of our questions and provided us with the best price we received (got 4 estimates total). The guys who actually performed the work also did a great job. Showed up, did their work, cleaned up and left the place as it was when they got here. My issue lies with their office staff. It took them almost a MONTH from the time that I got the estimate to the time the guys came out and it wasn't because they were busy... It was because the office staff did not call me back to schedule a time. I left numerous voicemails and e-mails with no response. The estimator even contacted the office on my behalf at least 3 or 4 times and NO RESPONSE. THEN! One day I *FINALLY* get a call and instead of having the girl ask me when i would like the guys to come, she tells me they'll be at my house in an hour! WHAT? So I had to drop everything I was doing, leave work and rush home to meet these guys. I should have just cancelled the job right there, but it needed to get done and I had already waited over a month. The guys got here and did their work. I called the office to make a payment for the service and the and quot;office managerand quot; told me she was busy at the moment and would call back to get my CC information. Fine, whatever. THREE WEEKS later I finally received a call back. She informed me that they don't take Amex and I wasn't home at the time and didn't have another CC on me, so I asked her to call me back the following day. Well... over a month later she finally called me back. I answered the phone. At this point I was so irritated that she would even wait that long to call me. I had forgotten about it for one thing and another thing is I never got a receipt or a bill in the mail. Had she mailed it to me like I asked her to, I could have just taken care of it a long time ago. But alas, I paid her anyway. She asked me if there was any other work they could schedule for me. YEAH RIGHT. The work they do is good, prices are fair, but if you want to keep your sanity AVOID.

Removed 35 foot oak tree and stump. Estimate and removal done within 3 days. Clean up and removal were done .

The estimate process went very well. I was impressed with Kurt. I was getting multiple estimates for a few neighbors, we all had dying Ash trees. Kurt explained the process to me for each neighbor, he measured the girth of each tree and provided me with the certificate of insurance and workmanship comp. I showed each neigbor their estimate and explained to them what was told to me, equipment, men, trucks. As a group we decided to go with DM Tree, they had great reviews and being Kurt took the time to answer all questions and explain what would be done we felt very comfortable hiring DM Tree. Well, what was written on the contract and what was done were 2 different things. Being we had 4 trees between us, they said it would take 2 days. One neighbor was not home on day one so her contract STATED she would be done on the 2nd day. Each proposal stated different items. One of the proposals stated the use of 2 climbers because this home had a brand new driveway and the trucks could not go onto the cement. Day one, they came as stated. They started cutting the trees, ALL of them, even though 1 neighbor was not home and was scheduled for the 2nd day. The house with the new driveway had no climbers, just boom trucks. The homeowner was told either we go on the driveway with the truck OR put a truck through the bushes. The homeowner chose the bushes. The men were very skilled and accurate. With the size of the trees we we greatful. But we hired this company because of the promises of the care they would be taking with the properties. The boss on site was David and he did what he wanted and when he wanted it. He spent most of his time on the phone. We told him not to start the neighbors house who was not home BUT.......... He went ahead and did it! The neighbor with the new driveway, once the truck was removed from his bushes, there was a HUGE hole (the size of a truck), they graciously offered to remove his remaining bushes for and additional fee! The large logs were left on all of our properties for a week. David said he had no idea how large the trees were! Well I was with Kurt when he measured each tree. We all spoke with Kurt the estimator after the job was done. We spoke with David and even the office help. Everyone threw everyone else under the bus! All's they did was to point a finger at each other. Beware, they will promise you one thing and do another. They could have cared less. Once they were on the job, the only goal was get done and get money. Excuses, excuses and excuses. I felt like a fool with all of the neighbors being I got all of the estimates. I did tell them all that this company appeared to care about our properties and would take extreme care. I was wrong! No, I would not hire them again. For what we got for the money, we could have hired any tree company. Wham bam thank you mam!

The guys from DM Tree Service did a great job taking down the Linden tree I had in the backyard. The annual flower and seed droppings from the Linden pretty much rendered our patio useless during the usable months. DM Tree came out around noon and proceeded to take down the 50+ foot tree in about 4 hours time. They also ground the stump below grade. Clean up was done professionally and they left me a pile of firewood out of the smaller diameter branch pieces of the tree. Overall a really good experience. Will be using them in the future if other tree caring needs arise.

This is the second time we have used them. Last time was in 2009 for the same. Charge at that time was 300.00 but got a 50.00 credit for allowing them to use neighbors drive. Total was 250.00. This time we still got the 50.00 dollar credit but it was 450.00. They returned my call same day or next day. Came out to see the job and price Same day or next day. They returned to do the work within a few days. They were just as prompt in 2009. They did an excellent job cutting back, cleaning out dead wood and shaping trees. They also did a good job cleaning cleaning up our property and the neighbors. I returned home after they had already left and was concerned the branch outside the kitchen window was left too long. Even though it was Very hot that day, they stopped back. Though it looked too long from where I viewed it, it was in proportion to the rest of the tree and shaped correctly. He still trimmed a little more off .

They were very responsive from the time we asked them to come out for an estimate through the clean-up process. We had used them 3 years ago and were happy with their work, so we called them to come back again. They were knowledgeable about what and how much to take off the trees. Their price was better than the other better known names in tree service that we called. The personal attention was nice from who I assume was the owner of the company. They cleaned up nicely and even trimmed a large shrub that we asked them about while they were working. I will call them again in a couple of years.

Very good. Work performed as estimated: little trace of the trees besides the stumps cut very low to the ground. Communication with the company was good. They performed the job when asked, ahead of their schedule, in time for me to move my family into the home. A formal estimate and invoice was much appreciated. Very good experience to my first time needed this service.

They took three weeks to come out and do the job for me. I would use their services in the future also.

They are VERY good at what they do.They are a good honest business. They know what they are doing. We are very pleased. We trim our trees about every three years. I needed a new company and hired them. I will keep them and hire them again.

Price was much lower than the other estimates we received. Employees arrived when promised, quickly took down the tree and cleaned up the area when done.

D M was the 3rd of 3 estimates to do the work described above, and D M was $240 and $450 less than the other two estimates. They also wrote up and printed the contract right in their car, and I signed it before they left, having already received the other two. They came to do the work 5 days later after phoning the night before. The large maple tree was fairly close to our house, and they were careful that the branches didn't damage the house and that their truck didn't damage the lawn. David Mejia was very pleasant and he did all the cutting and had a 3 man crew to do everything else. They cleaned up very well, and the whole process took about 4 hours. All in all a very good experience.

It was excellent. They were quick to call me back and come out for an estimate, but not quite as quick to make an appointment. Their clean up when they finished was excellent and they did a good job.

It went very well. They came on time and worked quickly and very carefully without any damage to property. Tree was very tall and over 70 years of age. The clean up was very efficient.

Job one: Excellent. His estimate was the lower of two I received. He completed the work about 6 days later. I was not home at the time and discovered the next day the work was completed. I hardly noticed he had been here except for the limbs I had requested he cut into fireplace lengths which he piled near my existing stack of wood. Job two: This is the 2nd time I've used them. This time was because of the severe wind storm that hit Mt. Prospect in August. They gave me an estimate on Sept. 12 and did the work on Oct. 12. They had a lot of jobs due to the storm so the delay was understandable. I did call a couple times to see when they would be coming out. They call two days prior to the work day to let me know they would be coming. Their crew showed up early in the morning and were done before noon. They came by later in the afternoon to chip all the branches and did a thorough job of cleaning up the yard.

They were able to get both trees and stumps cleared out in one day. There were three guys and they did a great job. They were at the house when they said they would be and even cleaned up all the limbs and leaves from the trees.

Company was responsive and professional. Company returned phone calls and were easy to communicate with (could always reach a contact in the office). Performed the work for the price quoted. Yard was left spotless and ground was leveled where hardscaping was removed. Company seemed very responsible - tendered proof of insurance, required that we obtain our neighbor's consent and recommended that we not trim back a third tree, as the tree would be damaged. Work was performed in roughly 4 hours. Was also impressed that DM arranged to give the removed (but otherwise healthy) arbor vitae to another client of theirs. Price seemed in line with amount of work performed.

It went great! Dave and his crew were on time, quick and efficient. In addition he shaped some bushes (not part of the original deal). They cleaned up well and were gone in 45 minutes! Would definitely recommend them and would have them back. I may have him put new bushes, where the old ones were. Due to the extremely hot weather, Dave suggested doing this at the end of summer.

My call was returned immediately and they came out to provide an estimate the next day. Work was completed two days after that. The large tree in our front yard was removed without any damage to my property or my neighbor's property. The stump was removed and all branches/logs were taken away. Bid came in lower than others we had provide estimates. A great job.

They had very prompt and courteous. The price was very good, but I decided to go with a certified arborist.

Very reasonable, very efficient and excellent service.
