Chuck Connor and an associate (who did the plumbing and electrical work) came three times to measure and suggest fixture and plumbing options. We ordered fixtures, tiles and material, which they picked up as needed. We need to say upfront that the work was well done. At the same time, there were some issues. For example, this project took 23 working days with Chuck working alone and on occasion with one assistant. Even though the window hardware was not painted originally, the assistant took it upon himself to paint the hardware to open and close the window, which we did not want to have done. At the time we asked several contractors for estimates, including Chuck, all said the main bathroom would take roughly 10 days, the powder room about 5 or 6. Unfortunately, we did not receive clarification from Chuck how long it would take for the powder room. We insisted on detailed specifications and descriptions so we could make valid comparisons. Although the house is 60 years old, there were no major structural changes or "surprises" as the work progressed. Chuck noted that the powder room bathroom floor was unevenly angled, which he did not anticipate, but that was about it. Had we known up front it would have taken 23 working days, we would have either created a back-up plan for showering and bathing, or arranged for another contractor. Even our neighbors commented on how long the job took, since they would see the truck in front of our house.Chuck made it very clear "my family comes first." While he did put in some 8-10 days in order to allow for for installation of electric and plumbing, he often came late, left early and took long lunch hours to deal with family situations. Chuck insisted several times that "since we don't have kids, we can't understand." Furthermore, he had to keep returning to his home for sawhorses, tools, and other material, which was located only a few minutes from our house. He would say, "I'll be back in 15 minutes," but often it was 45 minutes or more. The amount of white dust throughout the house was not unexpected, since he was sawing tiles inside, and he did try to vacuum the floor periodically. At the same time, we had placed tarps on our living room floor, and Chuck kept flipping them back to place paint cans directly on the floor itself. This flooring was clean and fairly new, since it had been installed less than two years ago. My husband kept replacing cans onto the tarp. In addition, As he talked to us or used his cell phone, Chuck kept placing his sweaty and grimy forearms our light-colored walls, which again had been painted less than two years ago when we installed the flooring. He did repair the dents he caused (and argued with us about) and slapped some paint on the dirty portions of the wall, but the damage was done. Given the quality of work in the bathrooms, which seems to be good, we were disappointed and baffled at his lack of respect for our home, and the thousands of dollars and dozens of hours we had spent less than two years before for a major redecorating project.
Description of Work: Gutted main bathroom (7' x 9') and powder room (4' x 7') down to the studs. Removed tile, drywall, floor, tub, sinks, toilets and fixtures. New drywall, tile, painting, new floors, new plumbing and fixtures. Installed cabinets in between studs in wall, added and painted molding. Modified electrical sockets slightly in both rooms. Added grab bars in tub and new towel bars for both rooms. New medicine cabinets in both bathrooms and wall mounted cabinets above both toilets. Cost above is for labor, does not include tile, fixtures, tub, toilets, cabinets, etc. Also does not include electrical and plumbing costs.

Response from CRC HOME IMPROVEMENT
The customers are a nice elderly couple. Remodeling bathrooms certainly can be hard to live through especially when you are home all day. Small spaces do not lend themselves to several workman working side by side. Products need "time to set" and "time to dry" before the next step can be begin. CRC spent alot of time researching a tub that would meet their needs. The metal window hardware was painted to cover and protect existing rust. Tarps were put down everyday. There was no on site staging area for CRC equipmant so everything had to be loaded in the van at the end of each day. An extra trip was needed to pick up sawhorses for planing of 2 doors, that was done at no charge to the home owners. We sincerely regret that we got on their nerves, but we are sure that they will enjoy the quality of the finished job and are sure that they will enjoy their newly redorated bathroom and powder room.

The job went very well. Chuck gave us a good quote and had to work around some wet weather in order to get the job completed on time. He and his associate were prompt and professional and did a nice job keeping things clean. A few drip spots on our brick were cleaned up afterwards by Chuck. The house now looks great. Chuck was great to work with and we'd not only recommend his company's work but would use them again in the future.
Description of Work: Painted exterior trim and cedar siding, along with replacing a couple of the cedar boards. Two coats of stain on cedar.
The job went very well and we are extremely pleased with the results. Our bathrooms look wonderful - Chuck did a great job with the ceramic tile in both bathrooms. Chuck was very helpful in making suggestions and providing references to people at stores for the tile and bathroom fixtures. The mirror we ordered for the main bathroom didn't come in until a week or so after the rest of the work was done. Chuck came back as soon as we got the mirror and hung it for us. Our family room looks beautiful; when Chuck pulled the paneling off, one of the walls was very damaged under the paneling. He fixed the wall and did a great job painting - he put in a lot of extra effort to make sure the paint and the room were perfect. Chuck went above and beyond to make sure everything was done perfectly. He even fixed a few things around the house just to be helpful; which was really appreciated. For example, our garage door was sticking and he was able to fix it so it doesn't stick anymore. One of our entry walls got a little smudged from all the work and Chuck painted it for us right before he finished. Chuck and his team were very professional. I would highly recommend this company if you are looking to do any remodeling work.
Description of Work: Main hallway bathroom completely remodeled including new ceramic floors, shower tile, bathtub, cabinets, etc. Powder room remodeled including new ceramic tile, cabinet, etc. Family room paneling taken down, dry wall repairs, painting.

Excellent. Chuck is very thorough and meticulous, if he did not like how something looked he would fix it right away and still point out to us that he went back and did something again despite us not knowing one way or the other. Very few individuals would even comment that they did something twice. His work was outstanding, and the clean up was also very neat. This was the second project that we contracted with Chuck. He is an excellent communicator and does what he says. Although he was not the lowest priced, we still rated him an A on pricing because his work is worth what he charges. He met his deadline and the project never had a delay from start to finish.
Description of Work: Interior Master Suite, Entry Hall, and one additional bedroom were painted. Both the Entry Hall and Master Suite required scaffolding due to the vaulted ceiling's and open floor plan.

This was the first time that we hired Chuck and the work was great, very neat, and done right the first time. The job started and finished on time. He is worth the price he charges, he was not the lowest priced estimate that we received. Paint still looks great today after some harsh winters and hot summers.
Description of Work: Complete second floor siding was painted along with all exterior doors.
The job went really well. Chuck made 2 trips out to our house during the evenings to quote the work, the additional trip was after we had decided to remodel the second bathroom. As described earlier the bath/shower tile took some additional time but Chuck made sure this was done right. We also added some additional work after the project started which was priced reasonably and did not add much time to the project. We have two large crazy dogs and Chuck and his crew was great with them, even letting them in and out of the house and wiping their feet as it was raining during much of the project....this alone added so much added value to the project since we didn't have to board them while we were at work. We will probably be hiring Chuck again to do some painting in the near future.
Description of Work: Chuck and crew gutted and remodeled my master bathroom, including floor and wall tile, vanity, toilet, mirror, wall storage unit, lighting, added an additional electrical outlet, painted, removed and dry-walled over a doorway. We used a mosaic travertine tile on the bath/shower walls that was very tricky to cut and align properly as well as added a shadow box in shower wall and Chuck took his time to do it right and still stayed on schedule. Chuck also took out vanity and tile from our downstairs half bath and installed tile, toilet, pedestal sink and painted. In addition to doing a great job, Chuck provided advice on materials and layout that made the project go much smoother. Chuck and crew gutted and remodeled my kitchen, including cabinetry, floor and wall tile, and painting. I also had them install new laminate flooring in 3 rooms in my condo as well as painting in 2 of the rooms. They also did some tricky work putting tile around my staircase. The project came in slightly above the estimate because I asked for additional painting beyond what we originally planned.

Chuck's customer service is outstanding! He made multiple trips out to my place in the evenings to prepare estimates for the work. He also was extremely flexible is adjusting his work schedule when there were delays and issues with the cabinets I ordered. And his quality of work can't be beat. When he's on the job you know it will be done right. This is the second time I've used him for a remodeling job and I've been pleased with the work both times.

Overall it was great! The gutting of the bathroom only took a couple of days. Chuck and his team were great about keeping dust and dirt to a minimum and cleaning up when they were done for the day. We had purchased a new tub, toilet, sink, vanity and faucets and shower head. They were very professional in their approach to everything, and took great care of our dog when we were not in the house. They let her in and out of the backyard when she needed to go out and when they did the cutting of the tile they actually did the work outside so the noise would not scare our dog. The bathroom looks great! But most importantly is how they handled a situation when something went wrong. When installing one of our wall mirrors they accidentally cracked it. What impressed me the most was that Chuck immediately took responsibility for it, got on the phone and found and ordered a replacement, paid for it himself and had it installed within a couple of days. That is how you judge a company. Not when everything is fine, but when there is a mistake and how they resolve the problem. We are looking forward to having CRC work on our other bathroom next month.

Description of Work: No services were performed. I tried calling for an estimate on bathroom remodeling. Each time I called a person picked up the phone and then promptly hung up on me. This occurred multiple times. I double-checked the phone number and it is the number listed on Angie's List. Ultimately, I contacted other contractors for estimates.

Very professional. Owner of service even accompanied us to Home Depot to answer any questions that the kitchen designer may have had. Accommodating to the customer which was very much appreciated. Pride in the work was evident and it showed in the final result. The work was completed in 10 days. Any additional repairs that came up during the process were handled swiftly and efficiently. Nice guys too!

Chuck and Steve did an excellent job on the bathroom remodel and we are extremely happy with our new bathroom. We were on a very tight budget and Chuck was totally accommodating. The entire job took approximately nine days. Chuck was aware that this was our only shower and each day he would let us know what their goals were and he always communicated with us. He was open to our questions and suggestions. He had no problem with us painting and handling the electrical. We did go slightly over the estimate but this was because we asked Chuck to install some additional fixtures and base trim that were not included in the original estimate. Lastly, we did have a problem with the new toilet. Chuck and Steve came back to the house and removed and re-installed the new toilet I supplied at no cost.
Description of Work: We had an extremely old bathroom that was falling apart piece by piece. Chuck and Steve completely gutted our bathroom all the way to the 2X4's. Chuck and Steve removed the tub, tub drain, vanity, toilet. Changed out plumbing for tub drain, shower valve, vanity, sink, and toilet. Added shut off valves and supply line. Installed new tub and drain, installed backerboard and new drywall to walls of shower area and rest of bathroom, taped, two coats of mud and sanded between coats and one coat of primer on drywall. Installed tile in shower and bathroom floor, grout, and sealant. Installed and framed new medicine cabinet and new vanity and toilet. Installed new fan in bathroom. Chuck supplied plumbing supplies, drywall, mortar and mastic for tile, tape, mud, primer. We supplied Chuck with the wall tile, grout, vanity, top, faucet, toilet, tub, shower valve, and showerhead. We painted the bathroom ourselves and we took care of the new electrical.

Although the project took longer than anticipated, the outcome was nothing less than extraordinary. Chuck was challenged with a number of things he had never installed before (jetted shower, bidet, etc.) but rose to the occasion. Although there was a little glitch in the installation of the jetted shower, Chuck addressed the issue and fixed the problem. The Italian Marble tile was also a challenge. While in one bath it was fairly straight-forward, in the master bath we requested that the 12"x12" tiles be set at a 45 degree angle which is very difficult to lay out correctly. In addition to that, we asked him to use contrasting inserts to create a pattern on the floor. All the materials and fixtures we selected were very high-end, and Chuck did a magnificent job in installing everything. The end result is spectacular. We were so pleased that we actually added a bonus to his asking price. We have more projects in the pipeline and will definitely call Chuck again.
Description of Work: Full gut and complete remodel of 2 full bathrooms including drywall, plumbing, electrical, tiling and installation of fixtures. One bath had a bath/shower combo, the other a separate bath and shower. Chuck took both baths to the studs, put in new durarock, drywall, and rough plumbing. He then re-tiled the shower areas and floors with Italian marble tiles and installed custom shower fixtures in both bathrooms. He also installed a new vanity, recessed mirrored medicine cabinet, light fixture, toilets, and a bidet. An extra puck light was added to the master bath. We provided all the tiles and fixtures, including the toilets, bidet, custom shower fittings, vanity, sink, bidet and faucets as well as all the decorative hardware. Chuck included all the electrical, rough plumbing, drywall and basic construction materials in his price as well as vent covers and fan lights. He also painted all walls that were not tiled as well as the ceilings and interior of the doors.
Chuck Connor and his assistant performed the work. Chuck was very helpful and referred me to local stores to purchase tile, fixtures, etc. The work environment was difficult given my place is a condo. Chuck had to cut tile, etc. inside the apartment, which is messy, but he did a great job cleaning up each night. The mold found behind the bathroom tile in the shower was unexpected, but Chuck removed all this and finished the job on-time and on-budget. The only setback was the plumbing in two locations where he installed stuff started leaking within a week after the project was complete.
Description of Work: They remodeled my bathroom by painting, removing mold, replacing tile, and replacing fixtures. They also replaced faucets in all sinks in the house and replaced a sink in the 1/2 bath.
