+ 0 moreIt is so terrible that it looks worse than before he did it. He did attempt to fix them and was unsuccessful. He said that they were 'defective' in actuality, I have contacted someone else who indidcated the wrong product was used. They are truly terrible and he would not provide a refund and seemed to blame me.

Description of Work: Arthur Jaromin visited us to give us his opinion on various refinishing options on an 1898 maple 2nd story floor andpossible application of applying a finish over an engineered kitchen wood floor installed about 15-20 years ago. His knowledgeand experience was evident and in both floor situations did not lead to a project, but would likely have if it were not for the issuesinvolved. The upstairs flooring had been sanded in 1965 and further sanding would have exposed the tongue/grrove as well as the woodin some areas had cupped. Only solvent stripping and hand scraping would be necessary to refinish in his opinion. His use of Bona products and refinishing equipment reinforced our opinion of his firm as the kitchen floor installed years ago by Dallia Floors in Evanston had a strong recommendation to always use Bona cleaning products.He suggested continue using the Bona floor cleaner and wait a few years before it would be useful having a clear water based finishapplied to seal the very tiny cracks beginning to appear...typical of engineered prefinished flooring where the top veneer is so thin.

He was very punctual and spent time answering my questions in addition to describing his service in detail. He supplied a written estimate, via email, within 24 hours. His bid was,in fact, in the middle of the six that I received. Having determined a "start" date, he showed up, with an assistant, promptly at 7:30AM and worked until 4:45PM, on each of two days. The result was exactly as advertised and as expected. I heartily recommend Arthur Jaromin/Dustless Floor Sanding Inc.
Description of Work: The entry hall stairs and second floor hallway was sanded, stained and sealed to match existing wood floors in the house. I

+ -1 moreGreat work, responsive to emails/questions, arrived on time! I had been searching the Internet for dustless sanding and found Dustless Floor Sanders. They had very good reviews on their site and was happy to see they were also listed on Angie's List. After getting estimates from two other companies (who I felt would also do a wonderful job) we decided on Dustless Floor Sanders. Arthur uses the Atomic dustless floor finishing system, and yes, it is dustless. Arthur and his assistant Michael arrived on time and were helpful in deciding on a stain and a finish. Highly recommended!
Description of Work: Sanded, stained and finished the floors in my living room, bedroom and hall.

+ 0 moreArthur and his crew were professional from start to finish. The floors all look great and he salvaged a room that others told us would have to be ripped up and replaced entirely. The stairs do not match the risers as closely as expected, but Arthur told us about this during the process, and the contrast turned out to be more visually appealing than expected. The price was a little steep, but we were willing to pay it because of Arthur's commitment to the environment. After seeing the professional quality of his finished product, we would gladly pay the same price again. Well worth it. Update: Arthur and his crew ended up coming back and re-doing the stairs for free. They look much better!
