It went as I had hoped. I highly recommend A+ electrical services.

George came as scheduled to troubleshoot and determined that the switch controlling the track lighting needed to be replaced. He was very thorough and explained everything he was doing. Through his other troubleshooting he determined that my bathroom outlet was not grounded. I'm no electrician, but knew that was bad and George took the time to show me what was going on inside the outlet and explained exactly what he did to fix it. He also made some good recommendations about using different bulbs in some of my fixtures and gave some good advice on how to potentially brighten up my kitchen area using some different fixtures. At no time did I feel he was trying to sell me on anything, he's just genuinely helpful and obviously has great experience to share. I'm planning to install a new ceiling fan and do some other lighting projects and will definitely be going back to George!!

Called A+ and was able to set an appointment for just a few days later. Receptionist was very professional and helpful. George the electrician called to let me know he was on his way and arrived on time. We spent some time discussing what I needed done and he got to work right away. He worked diligently with almost no breaks for (8) hours and completed all agreed work. He also counseled me on some possible future upgrades, etc. that I might want to make if I was going to stay in the home long-term, but he was very low-key about this . I appreciate that he was NOT trying to push me into further work that was not really necessary in the near future. All around very responsive, professional and easy to work with.

they showed up on time for estimate which was in line with other quotes. I chose them because they were a Des Plaines company. they showed up on time for job with all material/permits required and completed job in time quoted. cleaned up all areas where they worked. showed up on time for inspection and answered all of inpectors questions. inspector very pleased with job performance and quality. they were very friendly, explained everything in detail all during process. i will recommend to friends/neighbors.

Really A+ quality... George was probably one of the best electricians/service technicians that I have met. - Arrived on time and called to announce his arrival 10 minutes earlier. - Wore covers over shoes . - Cleaned any wires or dust after he got done . - Was fair in the hours he accounted for. - Was knowledgable and recommended the right fix for the problem (honest). Instead of changing the circuit box it turned out that only one circuit breaker be changed instead of the whole box. (instead of spending over a 1000 all was needed was a 5 dollar breaker). - Fixed a number of items that he found as he was fixing the lights. It turned out that the lights were not working because of prior fault wiring. George went about investigating the reason in a methodical way and was able to fix it without any damage to wall or plaster. He even watered the hanging plant by the ceiling.

George called when he was on the way and also to let me know that traffic was holding him up. He replaced the outlet, explained what happened and also pointed out other issues. I would definitely recommend and use again.

He arrived as scheduled, and spent extra time (at no charge) describing to us the pros and cons of landscape lighting. We have made no decision regarding that, but are very satisfied with his expertise.

George was great. His estimate was accurate and he gave me a number of options for placement of the switches, etc. We were also going to put in a ceiling junction box and fixture and he was very helpful in explaining how much more involved this would be than I had thought (we decided not to do that right away). George was prompt and careful about cleaning up, and advised us immediately of any problems he encountered. He thought he would have to cut the drywall in several places in the closets but ended up not having to, which was a pleasant surprise. We will hire him again to install dimmer switches and to put the ceiling fixure in.

George arrived on time and went through the entire work list carefully describing what was wrong and what he was going to do. He worked for seven consecutive hours without a break. He was meticulous, thorough, kept us informed as he progressed through the work and neatly cleaned up his work areas. We intend to call him again for other electrical work that we need. The quality of his work is excellent and we know it won't need to be done again.

He was very good and knowledgeable, but the price was expensive being $80 per hour. I expressed this to the company, but they said it's necessary to cover costs.

George has done work for us at least 3 or 4 times now. Every time he is prompt, tidy with his work, and very helpful in explaining issues and laying out our options. Our place was built about 10 years ago and the electric and plumbing are just terrible -- he has been a stalwart for us in getting very cheap new construction items like lighting fixtures replace, rewiring our circuit box, fixing the jacuzzi so it stopped shortly out with every use. He is also just a nice person and clearly takes pride in doing a good job. He was in our home for at least two hours, patiently working through with me the pros and cons of moving the location of a ceiling light, and despite all the hemming and hawing on my part, he only charged us for 90 min. We're great fans in this household!

George arrived on time, laid down plastic to cover area furniture and floor prior to starting the work. Recommended upgrading ceiling box to make it stronger, I agreed and the box was replaced. Explained all changes needed in detail and made sure I understood what/ why it had to be done. He inspected the breaker box and recommended changes, explained that some breakers needed replacing. I was impressed by the fact that when he received call on his cell, he spent less than 5 seconds on the phone and promptly returned to the work he was doing. I found this company to be very professional and would definitely use them again and recommend to friends.

George came to do some general electrical projects, which he completed. The most valuable part of the visit was diagnosing a major ComEd problem. He gave me good advice that ComEd eventually fixed.

We called A+ because we had read the glowing recommendations for George in Angie?s List reports. George arrived exactly at the time we had arranged, and might simply have done the installations we wanted, but instead he took the time to examine the two situations and discuss the feasibility of the projects. In the living room, he pointed out that to meet modern safety-code standards there either would need to be a less than sightly metal junction box protruding from the brick wall or he would need to remove sufficient brick portions from the wall face to mount a recessed box, a more expensive proposition. In the kitchen, George first checked the load already on the nearest line to the proposed microwave location and warned us that it should not be asked to service an 1100 watt microwave also. He then checked the other lines coming to or near the kitchen and found them inadequate, too. (In the process, he discovered and pointed out several faulty connections and outlets left ungrounded by earlier electricians.) To be safe, he said, the microwave needed to be served by a new line, adequately rated and grounded, threaded through the conduit piping from the circuit box at the opposite end of the house. When I asked how much it would cost to do that, George did not try to minimize an estimate in order to get the job. He was honest in giving me a rather hefty ballpark figure and warning me that the labor time could run the cost even higher. Since our finances are rather tight now, we decided to wait awhile to do both projects. When we are ready to call in an electrician, we will certainly be calling George at A+. The important thing accomplished during his visit last week is the work we didn?t get done wrongly. Most of the homes we have lived in over the past 60 years have been older buildings with problems that needed to be dealt with. We?ve learned that, especially when dealing with electricity, it?s great to find someone who knows his craft, charges a fair rate for careful work and has an honest work ethic.

He was very punctial, stuck to the estimate and explained some wiring issues that were found. I would use them again when needed.

George called and arrived within the estimated time frame. I explained the problems and George examined the electrical outlets and the circuit breaker and then explained what he thought the problem might be but indicated it would take some time to determine the exact cause. George worked diligently for about an hour isolating the problem. He took the time to explain the problems and showed us why things weren't working properly. He traced the origin of the problem to an entirely different room. He then spent some time correcting the MANY wiring problems. When he was finished he showed us that things were now were properly. We then (sheepishly!), asked if would check the outlets outside the house. He politely agreed to do this :), found some problems, corrected them AND update the outlets with the appropriate materials. We could not have been more pleased! George is an amazing, patient, hardworking professional. I highly recommend him and the company.

In the heat of August, our central air conditioning stopped working. We called a reputable (Angie's List recommended) air conditioning firm to repair it. The technician was able to start it working, but it failed after about 30 hours. He returned when requested and advised me (as he had on his original visit) that the circuit breaker related to the air conditioner was bad and needed to be replaced. He added that the wiring from the panel to the AC was aluminum, and therefore not up to code. He said I needed the services of an electrician. I called A + Electrical Services because it was highly rated on Angie's List. George appeared bright and early for a 7 a.m. appointment. He investigated the electrical situation. He discovered that the circuit breaker related to the air conditioning was not receiving power properly, had overheated and had been arcing. This resulted in the melting of a corner of that circuit breaker as well as a corner of the adjacent circuit breaker. George replaced both circuit breakers. Outside George found that the circuitry connected to the air conditioning (probably original equipment to the house (built in 1973) was not weather-proof. Neither was the box. He replaced all the outside conduits with weather-proof ones. He ran new copper wiring for the whole thing. He discovered that the circuit breaker panel contained no grounding wire for the AC, so he installed one. He even replaced a burned-out light bulb in a wall fixture next to the circuit breaker box. George explained in advance every step he was going to take, did it all, and then showed me what he had done. He answered every question I had. George was the consummate professional and worked hard the whole time he was at our house. Everything was finished by 11:30. He probably saved us from a house fire. He also saved us thousands of dollars we might have spent on a new air conditioning system: once George had completed his work, our air conditioning worked like new. There had apparently been nothing wrong with our air conditioning (although the air conditioning firm had charged us for repairs). The problems were all in our electrical system, the best I can tell. When I need an electrician in the future, I will definitely call A + Electrical Services and ask for George. He is wonderful.

They were absolutely fabulous. They came the same day. I called at 7:30 and they were out in two hours. They were able to fix the problem. They were very nice. They explained everything that was wrong. I even asked for some cards so I could give them to my friends. We will call them when we have any work in the future.

George came over on one days' notice to make some electrical repairs in response to our home sale contract. He was very courteous and explained everything done in great detail. Highly recommended!

George was very friendly, honest and up front about all work that was needed. He is my contact for all future electrical work. He was very clean and neat and always put the shoe covers on when he came into the house. He took the time to explain all the work that he was doing in plain language. I appreciated his professionalism and courteous demeanor. Thank you George!

Everything was great! George was punctual and did a great job replacing the intercom. He worked hard for almost 2 hours, charged us for only 1 1/2 (who can beat that!) and took the time to explain what he was doing. The $120 of labor charge is very reasonable and exceptional for the service we were provided.

I can't say enough about George and A+ Electrical Services! I originally requested a quote to have my home rewired. George came out and spent over TWO HOURS looking over my home thoroughly - at NO CHARGE! He determined the house did not need rewired, but it did need major electrical work to bring it up to code. George was extremely thorough, did an excellent job, and was amazingly considerate - cleaning up each day when he finished, watching for the cats, etc. and never leaving me without electricity overnight, even though that meant staying until 11 pm one day! I highly recommend George and A+ Electrical Services.

Late on a Saturday afternoon, half of the lights and outlets in our house stopped working (including the outlet used for our television!). Most of the electrical companies we contacted were no longer providing services this late on a Saturday, or they wanted to charge a high fee for working after hours. We contacted A+ Electrical Services because they do not charge a fee for after hours work, and someone was available to come to our home within an hour. The person who helped us was very friendly, explained in detail the work that would be done, and worked in a timely fashion. Once he checked the wires and outlets throughout the house, he discovered that we had a loose wire that ran through multiple rooms. He replaced the loose wire, and re-checked every light switch and power outlet throughout the house to ensure that he had fixed the problem. All of this was completed within an hour.

George arrived on time, performed the work in a very professional manner and produced results that exceeded my expectations.
