They did a pretty good job. The stamped concrete looks good. However, just a warning, they know concrete, but they do not know wood. They were quick and tidy getting rid of the previously (poorly) made walkway and stoop, but were going to just going to put in a moisture barrier and pour next to some severely rotted wood that needed to be tended to. Even Palatine's inspector was going to give it a pass because it was covered up by the moisture barrier, but I pointed it out and he did not pass it until the wood was repaired. Good thing too, the rot was in the joists, and could have led to the front of the house sinking or collapsing in that area. Once that was repaired, 3D could come in and do the pour and stamping. They were not fastidious about cleanup afterwards. I had to remove the barriers, and between pre-pour work and pour, they left some tools in my hostas. There is still a great deal of grey coloring powder all around the outside of the walkway that blows up when you mow the grass. I am not sure what they could do about that though. As of 2 months later, still have grey coloring streak down my driveway. Actually, I would have to say they are slobs.

We had 5 estimates and Nick was not only the most professional and informative, he also came in at the lowest price (we had a $3000 range in estimates). The work was done right on time, on schedule and very professionally. They removed our driveway, did a great job cleaning, had the inspectors come and then poured the new driveway. It looks great and we couldn't happier with the service that we received. I highly recommend 3D Concrete.
Description of Work: We had our one car driveway removed and two car driveway poured. Required a bobcat to remove the old concrete, disposal of the old driveway, and then laying a new driveway, including a rounded curb for the edge that meets the road.

We are going to use them but we haven't called them yet. Nick Desario is the person that came out. We had a lot of contractors come out and they are the only one that pointed out the drainage problems that we knew we were having. They identified the problem. They were very responsive and came on the spot.
Description of Work: We got an estimate from 3D Concrete Design to replace our driveway. They will have to rip up the old driveway.

Called for an estimate and had 3D come out and send us an estimate within a couple of days. Work proceeded a few days later (becuase of the weather) and the back stoop was demolished and replaced promptly. Work proceeded on the front proch where the old concrete was demolished and hauled away, the new poured and the decorative columns repaired. Everything was done in a timely manner and beyond our expectations.
Description of Work: 3D took out the old front and back porch, replaced them and rebuilt the front columns and did so in a friendly and professional manner.

I had a new driveway, patio and sidewalks installed by another provider, five years ago. Due to improper grading in one section of the patio, rain water would collect and drain toward my house. This year, that water began to leak into the lower level of my home. Since 3D advertised itself as a concrete pouring and repair company, I called for an estimate appointment. Nick came over the same day. He said the section would have to be removed, re-poured and regraded. The section measured 82 square feet. He quoted me a price of $1500.00, which he said was his "minimum". That figure translated to a cost of $18.30 per sq. ft., as opposed to a charge of $8.75 per sq. ft., if he replaced the entire patio. My original provider charged $6.49 per sq. ft. I believe it is misleading to advertise yourself as a concrete repair company, if in fact, you intend to charge exorbitant fees for repairs that do not require full replacement. It would be more honest for Nick to have indicated his policy of minimum charges, in his company's description. It's obvious that 3D cannot be bothered with jobs they consider to be too small. Let the customer know that up front; it will spare us wasted time.
Description of Work: Nick came to provide an estimate, but no services were performed.

Response from 3D CONCRETE DESIGN
As the member stated in her report, she called 3D Concrete with a drainage problem she was having from concrete work that was poured by a different contractor 5 years ago. Usually a customer will explain to me what type of service they need over the phone. Typically if it's a small job (stoop, a piece of sidewalk, etc.), I can usually price it over the phone. Since the member issue was more than just replacing a small area, I went to her home to inspect it and see what and if anything could be done to resolve the problem. I informed the member that in order to repair or fix the issue she was having, the small sunken section of the patio would have to be removed, regraded and repoured. In working with small areas, a customer needs to be aware that 3D Concrete also incurs minimum charge fees from our concrete suppliers along with daily business expenses. I apologize to the member if she believes I wasted her time, but in 3D's defense, I did take time out of my busy schedule to give her a free estimate. A happy customer is the one who keeps us in business and by no means do I want to make a customer unhappy. 3D Concrete is always ready and willing to help a customer with their concrete needs or problems.

Nick came out to give an estimate on the same date that he was called. This was for a new garage floor. He indicated that the floor was basically in good shape. He gave me the name of a company that might be able to do a resurface rather than tearing out the floor and pouring a new one. This might be cheaper

I was impressed by Nick's responsiveness. If/when I have a concrete job I will certainly call him again.
Description of Work: I called today at around noon to see if 3D could do some concrete work repairing my exterior front railing. Nick said it sounded like I would need a railing person, but that he would come to my house and inspect it. He showed up an hour later! And concluded that I need a wrought iron railing repair person. But I was thoroughly impressed by how professional and responsive he was. Thanks Nick!

Our town requires a permit with a drawing. 3D does not supply a drawing so I have to use Visio and guess at the layout with an extra step with a 12 inch tread. First drawing was rejected because of a miscalculation. The second drawing was submitted and accepted. The crew came out and removed the old stoop and put in the forms. The next day they poured the cement and let it set. They finished the job and cleaned up pretty good. They use a coating of a solution that protects against salt. After the concrete dried there were stains of this solution in a few spots. Nick came out and inspected the area and his crew came the next day and used a solvent and cleaned up most of the stains.
Description of Work: Had a front stoop replaced that was cracking. Stairs were hard to walk up because of the length of each tread. We called 3D to get an estimate. Nick showed up on time and looked over the porch. He suggested we lengthen our tread and add another step. We agreed on the work and he gave us a written estimate.

Nick, who owns the business, promptly returned my call and followed up by coming to my house when he said he would to give an estimate. His crew was able to begin work within a few days, which I appreciated. The crew arrived on time, was friendly and worked efficiently. They installed bolts into the concrete to accommodate the walls of the shed very precisely. The concrete work was done professionally, but there was one thing slightly off. One side of the pad was only 5'11", not 6'. This led to some difficulties constructing the shed, which was built for a 6' pad.
Description of Work: A 6' x 10' concrete pad was to be poured for a garden shed to be constructed on top.

This was a lucky break. After going through a very bad experience with another contractor, we had the pleasure of having our work done by this company. The appointment for estimate was set up quickly. We knew we were in good hands immediately because he saw the errors that were made by the previous contractor. And, the work was scheduled pretty quickly. The end result was beautiful, more than we hoped for. I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: We needed to have 4 areas poured: two patios, a sidewalk and a shed pad. Work was initially started by another contractor but we had to terminate their services and find another concrete company in order to have the work done before winter. My boss did me a favor and found 3D on Angie's List for me.

Nick was always prompt for every appointment. He was very professional and responsive to our questions and requests, and he did so with a friendly manner that made him a pleasure to work with. He had good suggestions of how to shape some of the walks and stoops. He also worked with our requirements to make things work. When we wanted some artwork (our initials and a Christian fish symbol), as well as a safety anchor for our trailer, everything was done and looks great. The only problem we had was where our village missed some dimensions on the permit application and had incorrectly approved a permit that allowed the driveway to be too wide. They then rejected it during the pre-pouring inspection. Nick worked out a solution of removing part of the existing parking pad to make the rest of driveway the correct width. Great job on everything.

Nick arrived on time to give us an estimate. The estimate was fair and reasonable with a 5% discount for belonging to Angie's list. At first Nick quoted me $1500 for the work, but then when I contracted with the same company for patio replacement, I renegotiated the price down to $900. Nick discouraged me from replacing my patio with concrete (one of my options). He said he was affiliated with a paving company (3D paving) and said he would call me with information on this company. He never returned my call. However, I had 3D paving come out anyway. I saw that the logos for the concrete and paving companies were the same. I called the owner and told him Nick has not returned my call. Mike, the owner, apologized and he sent someone out to give me an estimate. 3D concrete and paving did both jobs and did them well.
Description of Work: The company broke down old concrete and reset to meet my front stoop. They did a good job, and were done in two days.

Anthony returned my call the same day and I had an estimate the next morning. Polite, professional, answered all my questions. Nick improved the configuration of the previous concrete in several areas. Friendly, hard working crew who never slacked off for a minute. No unnecessary delays. Proposal/contract called for 50% payment but I wasn't asked for any payment until after the work was completed. That tells me work is uppermost with them, that they trust themselves to do a good job and that I can trust them. Kudos!
Description of Work: Removed and replaced garage floor, driveway and three walks. Built one new walk.
