Overall, this experience with Walter's Tailor Shop was positive. The overcoat from which the fur was taken no longer fits me, and I wanted to avoid needing to send both coats to the business where the fur was put on originally to have this work done. Previously, I had gotten one or two estimates on tailoring work (alterations specifically) from Walter's, and considered them outside my price range. As far as I could determine before having this done at Walter's, this business comes highly recommended, so I decided to give it a try. I could not get an estimate over the phone when I described what I wanted done, but this shop is closer to me than a local furrier (where I also could not get an estimate over the phone), The price I was charged for this work is probably in line with (or less than) what it would have cost anywhere else in this area, and I avoided having to send both coats off and paying postage for that. A misunderstanding regarding whether I had paid only a deposit on my first visit or had paid in full was resolved quickly and satisfactorily. I wonder how the price was determined, but I assume it was for the cost of skilled labor (and possibly tax), since the shop did not provide any materials that were worked on. .

Refurbished 18 year old leather down bomber jacket by dyeing, sewing in new pockets, replacing buttons and elastic waistband. We'll worth the price for the quality of work. The jacket looks like new.

They do a great job and are timely with their repairs.

We just moved here so we checked the list for alterations and selected Walter due to his location. I just lost 35 pounds and I buy good clothes, so I wanted to use most of my clothing instead of replacing. He did a very good job on my pants and I responded by bringing him a jacket, three more pants and a top. He is not inexpensive, but his work is excellent. Items were ready when promised. He encourages you to try on items he altered before you leave. He is honest with you if he thinks an item is not worth fixing, and also honest with you about costs. He's a real find and I will bring more in when I pick up the latest batch.

DEFINITELY ''OLD WORLD'' WORKMANSHIP! HE CONFERRED WITH ME, GAVE ME AN IMMEDIATE QUOTE AND FINISHED THE JOB VERY WELL & QUICKLY. HE CALLED AS SOON AS IT WAS FINISHED. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIM. HE SHOULD ALSO BE LISTED SPECIFICALLY UNDER A LEATHER CATEGORY IF ANGIE'S LIST CREATES ONE. I KNOW I LOOKED FOR A LONG TIME TO FIND A LEATHER CLOTHING ALTERATION/REPAIR EXPERT.
