Based on visual and touch inspection around the compressor and sealed system, he believed that it was some part of the sealed system that was bad. Only way to check for sure was install a gauge, BUT he said that would likely void any warranty left on those parts -- and advised to check back with LG regarding covering the sealed system / compressor parts. Follow-up to that, LG Factory Service came, ordered compressor and all the sealed system parts. Came back and installed only new compressor and recharged system. LG repair was $0.00, thanks to extended warranty that was honored (even though HH Gregg is gone). All working again now.

Steve O diagnosed problem correctly while using troubleshooting document provided with washer. He replaced agitator hub and cleaned drive shaft, solving problem. He helped us clean outside of tub which had been removed to get to hub and shaft. He had to schedule another appointment for a few days later because he didn't have special tool to remove tub from washer. After cleaning hub and shaft he tested washer, ensuring that problem was solved. Parts and labor warranted for 1 year.

Priority Appliance Repair was excellent at responding and provided same day service. I appreciated that. The tech. entered my home at 5:30pm and began to troubleshoot the issue by asking good questions. He concluded the dryer needed a new heating coil and after I agreed and the work was completed, the dryer worked as it should. The tech completely took apart the dryer, including the removal of the drum. He cleaned up everything nicely and he left my house at 6:05pm. The "F" rating on price is because the tech first quoted me around $250 but said he'd discount it to $199 (later it was $195). I agreed having no idea the cost of the part or how long it would take to complete the job. However, after the tech left, I went on-line and found a new heating coil for a Whirlpool between $15-$25. So adding in shipping, if the part was $30, I was charged $165 for half hour labor or, $330 p/hour for labor. I have no issue with a business making a profit especially if I have to pay for their expertise, and even if they marked up the part 100% or 200% and only charge by the hour, I still feel the labor rate is out of line. I advise that if you choose to use this company, that you ask them for a breakdown of their parts and labor prior to starting the work.
Description of Work: My whirlpool dryer stopped heating up. The heating coil needed replacement.

I called 10 am to try to make an appointment, said I'd get a call back later within 1 hour to set up a time for today. Two hours later I finally got a call and was told he might not be able to come today. I wasn't at home, thought I was getting a same day appointment so I didn't bring my schedule. I called back and left the technician a message, And as of 3 hours later still had not gotten a call back. Called the main number where I was told the owner would give me a call back. Never called. The technician didn't call until the next day when I was back at work. Was hoping to get this taken care of right away but now again am back to square one looking for a company who will at least call me back.

Priority appliance repair was solid. They came out promptly and diagnosed the problem - the control panel was no longer working. They had to do some research to try and find a replacement part. They could not, but they worked with another company to get the panel rebuilt. It took a couple weeks, but they stayed on the problem until it was resolved. Their technicians were very professional.

Someone showed up within two hour service window. There is a $59 fee for estimate but that is subtracted from any work performed. The quoted $320 to repair Oven Safety valve on my Whirlpool oven. I believe this is a bit high. The tech said he should have one in van but didn't so he had to come back. He said he would do the cleaning then too. I had the time booked to get work done and nothing got fixed or cleaned. I canceled them coming back. I received a call next day to see if there was a problem or an issue that caused me to cancel. He said repair cost is average and part is $150 dollars (ordered myself a OEM replacement part on ebay for $102). I asked if it was a difficult repair and he said it was 45 minutes. So I did the math and the service guy makes $3.77 a minute, or $226 an hour. He responded saying that there is administrative overhead and drive time. The dryer cleaning would be an additional $150.

Of coarse, my dishwasher worked when the repair man came. He stayed to listen to it cycle to ensure there weren't issues. He said that if there were future issues within the next couple weeks and did need repairs, he would use the $59 service fee towards repairs.

It turned out to be a $10 fuse..... took 20 min to fix. Wanted to charge $195..... setteled on $150. If we didn't have a back up of laundry, I would have ordered and installed the part myself. Every company deserves to make a profit, but the mark-up for this job was ridiculous. I will look elsewhere next time.

Even though Priority Appliance Repair Inc didn't do any actual work, the suggestion Steve provided saved me a great amount of money. Because of his honesty and helpfulness, if I do need an appliance repair, Priority Appliance Repair Inc will most likely be the first business I call. Thank you!
Description of Work: The timer knob on my Hotpoint Dryer was causing my dryer to not turn on. I had arranged an appointment with Priority Appliance Repair Inc. I received a phone call back at 10:30 AM and arranged an appointment for arrival between 1 and 4. In the meantime I had messaged Priority Appliance Repair Inc on Angie's list. Steve gave me a tip to test out if it was the timer or just the time knob. I did this test and sure enough, it was just the timer knob as the original is cracked inside. Steve saved me $$ for the suggestion and I am ordering the part online for $15.00.

The repair turned out to be trickier than anticipated with a minor mishap and another part had to be ordered to fix that but they did not charge me for it. The company would not take any money apart from the initial call out charge until the oven was fully functional again. They have been very responsive, have come out at convenient times and have been extremely pleasant to deal with despite what I would assume was a frustrating experience for the technician. I would recommend them.

Called to schedule a service appointment on 10/20. They take your information down and then a "scheduler" calls you the next morning 10/21. Scheduler calls and gives a 3 hour window (2:30-5:30). Technician calls at 5, says he won't be there until 6:30. Shows up closer to 7:00. Diagnosis in :10 minutes - GE inverter board needed to be replaced. Had one in his truck. Googled part online, average cost for a new one is about $130-$150, tech says he can replace it for $420. I agree to the work to get my fridge going again, although to me, I felt like the cost was a little steep. I ask about my ice maker - tech says it will start up again when my freezer gets to the normal temperature. It never did start working, so I am calling today to schedule another appointment. The tech himself, Elvis, was professional and did give me $25 off my bill because of the tardiness and the fridge/freezer is operating normally (besides the ice maker).

When I called, Priority Appliance Repair was able to schedule me for an appointment the next day. (Responsiveness: Excellent) They advised that I would be called the next day to advise me of the service window, which indeed happened. I was provided a window of 3:30-6:30 pm. (Responsiveness: Excellent) The doorbell rang at 6:32 pm. Normally, being 2 minutes late wouldn't have upset me, but my family had been holding off on eating dinner so that I could be available for the technician's questions. Further, the technician could have easily called to advise me earlier in the afternoon that he was running late. (Punctuality: Lousy) When I confirmed with him that the window was indeed 3:30-6:30, he said yes and said he'd take a few dollars off the bill. More on that later. Now, to be fair, the issue with our washer was an intermittent error indicating a failure to drain properly. The error didn't occur with every load, and it hadn't occurred with the most recent 4 loads. Still, it had happened at least 4 times in the prior 3 days, so something had to have been amiss. The technician inspected, but could find nothing wrong with the pump or drain. However, he did question the bearings on the unit, saying that the drum didn't sound right when spinning and it didn't spin as freely as is should. When I told him that there had been no change in how the machine sounded or turned, he questioned me incredulously. (Side note: I do a lot of laundry, and I clean the machines filters and rubber seal regularly. I would say I'm very familiar with how the machine has been running since we purchased it in 2009.) At that point, for whatever reason, he shifted his conversations away from me and to my spouse. In fact, he would barely listen to or acknowledge any input that I offered, even though the points relayed by my spouse were the same ones I had stated. I should further state that my name was on the service call list, not my spouse's. I called for the appointment, not him. (Professionalism: Bad) I do give him some credit: He did not pressure us into replacing the pump, even when my spouse suggested that option. He also advised that repairing the bearings was an $800 job, and that if that was ultimately necessary, he'd suggest just buying a new unit. (Quality: Fair) He finished his call, presenting me with a $44 bill. I was frustrated by that point, and didn't review the bill carefully. Had I, I would have realized that he did not give us "a few dollars off" as he'd promised upon his arrival. The only deduction was the one that was made due to the Angie's List coupon that I had mentioned when scheduling the appointment. I asked the technician if he needed the coupon, and he said "no". So clearly, he knew there should have been a coupon AND his "late" discount applied. (Price: Bad) Overall, just a frustrating experience. Perhaps other technicians withing this company are more professional, but based on my experience, I would not recommend the company.
