I called the company about 10 AM when I discovered the leak. Michael arrived about 2 PM the same day and replaced the line which is a minor repair and then he went further and checked to make sure the ice maker was operating properly. I did not notice that it had not made ice for a week and he took off the ice maker and found that a six inch tube was blocked with ice, he melted the tube under water, replaced the tube and ice maker and I was back in service. If Michael had not taken that further step I would have been making another call and another charge. I was pleased with the promptness of the service, the cost, and Michael.

Overall I was satisfied. On8/6/20010 spin on washing machine stopped working. A big PLUS a person answered politely on the phone. I picked the co. since they work on Saturday and do not charge extra and set up the appt for 8/7/2010. The repairman showed about an hour before the time the appt was set up.I feel a little ackward because i forgot his name since he was very polite. He gave the good news that the washing machine is very good and he also has the same model. Also he added that it needs a lidswitch to be replaced. The price was originally 179.00 but charged me 162.00 for senior discount.Hope that they can continue the great service.

Our gas oven was not heating properly and after having it on for a while we could smell gas. Called Priority, was given a convenient appointment time. Repair man came out, on time, told us that it was our ignitor was not getting hot enough. He had a part with him, he replaced the ignitor, and the oven has been working fine since then. This is the second time we've used this company and have been very happy with them each time.

Steve returned my call within 2 hours. He provide me a cost estimate of repair and advice on washer brands over the phone. We will be purchasing a new washer rather than repair due to the estimate of $450. He seemed to be very knowledgeable. His company offers 1 year warranty on labor which I like. I would definitely call him if we need a repair in the future.

The were very professioanl. They called back when they said they would and showed up right on time. The only reason I gave a rating on price as good (B) was that even though the repair cost about what I thought, I don't have any point of reference to rate against. Repairman was very friendly and professional. He took the time to explain what was wrong and what it would take to fix. They had the parts available on the truck, so they were able to fix the problem right away. For our service call, he was in and out in about 30 minutes.

Mike arrived an hour later and diagnosed the problem quickly after hearing me relate the symptoms and gave me an estimate of the cost. He took apart the electrical panel and confirmed his diagnosis. He confirmed the cost and asked if I wished to go ahead with the repair. He got the part from his truck and in just a few minutes the washer was fixed. Mike was professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. I was shopping for a new appliance repair company as my old reliable one had retired. I am searching no more! I would definitely recommend this company and will be using them in the future.
Description of Work: Washing machine stopped in the final rinse cycle. The selection dial would not work at all on any setting and was completely dead. I assumed that there was some electrical problem, most likely, a worn out part. I emailed Priority Repair company off the Angie's List site. I had to follow up the next day with a phone call as I did not hear back right away. I got a call back from the owner within five minutes and he explained satisfactorily the communication snafu and said a technician was scheduled to be out that same afternoon. I will call rather than email in the future.

After Don had fixed the dryer I asked him to look at Refrigerator 1 whose lights stopped working about 1 year ago. Don diagnosed the problem as the light bulbs not making electrical contact, which he repaired immediately for no charge. I then asked him about Refrigerator 2 whose ice maker had stopped working. After I described the problem Don said it was likely one of 3 possible problems. He could repair any of them but would cost between $225 and $275 additional dollars. He then went on to propose that, for $30 he could diagnose the problem and give me the required part number. It turned out to require a new ice maker which part number Don game me, and he instructed me how to remove the old part and install the new one. After ordering the part online I plan to save $200 by doing this myself. Don was pleased to help me this way, and I am very pleased too!! Thanks Don and Priority Appliance Repair. I'll definitely use this company the next time!
Description of Work: After reviewing Angieslist.com to find an appliance repair company, I contacted Priority Appliance Repair Sunday evening via their web site to set up an appointment to fix our clothes dryer. Steve called me the following morning to confirm that Don would be coming today (Monday) to perform the repair. Don came as scheduled and repaired the dryer in just a few minutes, and charged me $153 to replace the heat fuse.

Save for not getting a phone call the night before (which is why they're not an A), I am quite pleased with the service. After getting TWO blow-offs from people (including Mike's Appliance Repair in Libertyville), I was getting frustrated. I am thankful for the promptness of this company and would use them again.
Description of Work: I requested a service call Tuesday March 23rd for service on Wednseday March 24th. The email system was great and I got a system confirmation back. I did not get a phone call the night before as stated, but when I called Priority Wednesday morning, they said they were indeed coming and they would email me with a window (they did email me later in the morning with a window) The service technician arrived at my house at approximately 4:00pm which was within the stated time of 2:30pm - 5:30pm. The service call took approximately one hour and the fix was very simple (2 screws loose) so the technician fixed it and did not charge me beyond the diagnostic fee.

As a result of finding many positive reports for this company on Angie's List, I made an appointment for service via their website. Mike arrived during the timeframe I was given, and he told me exactly what the cost would be. He showed me what the problem appeared to be and asked me when we last changed the water filter. When I told him it was about a week ago and that it seemed the icemaker stopped working soon after, he said that may have caused the air pocket in the line, which then caused the water to freeze. He also recommended that the next time we change the filter to drain about a gallon of water from the line, which would allow the air to be released. He thawed the ice, freed the line and waited for the icemaker to cycle again. Mike was honest, knowledgeable, and pleasant. We will definitely use this company again ... it was actually a good experience!
Description of Work: Refrigerator ice maker stopped working. The serviceman determined the problem was ice built up in the water supply line, possibly caused by an air pocket after changing the water filter. Mike removed the ice maker and thawed the ice to free the water line.

If only ALL service providers were this honest! The staff was professional, scheduling was simple, they provided a courtesy "on the way" call. Even though replacing the belt may have made the dryer work for a while longer, the service rep showed me very clearly everything else that was broken or about to break, so I could make a well-informed decision. He could have replaced the belt and hoped I called for future repairs! Instead he took the time to show me what was wrong and gave advice on buying a new dryer from a reliability standpoint. I paid only the service fee (I can't remember if it was $75 but it was not more than that). I highly recommend Priority Appliance!
Description of Work: Called to replace dryer belt on ancient dryer. Service rep came out, inspected, and pointed out the many repairs the dryer required, and said I would be better off buying a new one (but he would give me an estimate for repairs if I'd like). He then gave great advice on what I should look for in a new dryer.

Perfect. My problem was solved in no time.
Description of Work: My 16 year old refrigerator was no longer dispensing water or ice. I scheduled a service call on line Sunday night. got a call that evening that they would call me for time of service in the a.m. Call came as expected. Service tech showed up on time. got right to the problem and although it was a filter issue rather than the appliance itself, identified it, educated the the homeowner and voila, problem solved. The tech was knowledgeable, and professional. I will definitely call them again if I have an appliance issue.

I set my appointment via email and received a response within two hours that someone would be available on Thursday to fix my oven. The technician called Thursday AM to let me know the time frame to expect him. The technician came on time, diagnosed the problem and let me know the cost (there was a discount for being a member of Angie's list of about $10). The part was on his van, he replaced the part and left everything as neatly as it was when he arrived. The technician was professional. It took about 20 minutes to complete the repair.

The serviceman Mike came to the door; I asked him if he was afraid of dogs, he smiled and said no (I have a Border Collie). As soon as Mike came in my Border Collie, Jake went up to him, put his head on his leg and looked up to kiss him; I knew this man was honest. Mike took the top off of the dryer and showed us that all of the screws and washers were very loose. He immediately tightened all of them and appoligized for having to charge me. He charged much less then a service call and $20.00. for his time. Both myself and Jake were extremely impressed with how HONEST, NEAT and GOOD Mike is. I already put Priority Appliance in my address book. I will definately use them again!

The job went fine. The problem wasn?t totally fixed. I was in here and he tested the microwave by boiling some water. It worked fine. I went to use it the next day and it didn?t work though we tried a couple of times. We called him back and he came out. He was very nice and didn?t charge us anything and fixed it. We haven?t had any problem since. We would use him again if need be.

I called monday morning and was in desperate need of a repairman to look at my ge side by side refrigerator that was cooling no matter what temperature i set it at. Steve called me back immediately to let me know that don would be able to stop by between 12-3. Don came alittle after 12;30 and after looking over the freezer portion knew immediately that the defroster wasn't working correctly and the thermostat was broken. He had all the parts available to fix the problem but for 379 plus 78 to manually defrost the iced over defroster, we decided not to fix it since we already had ordered a new refrigerator and wanted to salvage this one for use for storage. This was the second service call we have had for this fridge so we felt it was too expensive to fix to use this fridge as a back up. I definitely would use them again, very professional and pleasant to work with.

My washer had failed to spin and drain a couple of times, jiggling the lid "fixed" things until the last time when it refused to do anything other than agitate (leaving me with clothes and a foot of water in the washer). I placed a service request through the Priority Appliance website on Saturday for a Monday appointment. Called them Monday morning, they said the repairman should show up between 9 and 10 AM, which he did. Very pleasant and professional guy, said he thought it was the lid switch and quoted me $160 total to repair, he had the part in his truck. He quickly unscrewed the necessary screws, and took apart just enough of the washer to get to the lid switch--it was obvious he had done it numerous times before, there was no wasted action. He replaced with switch with a Maytag switch (the machine is a WhirlPool, now owned by Maytag, so it was an OEM part). He re-assembled the machine, made sure it spun (and quit spinning when the lid was raised). Overall a very professional experience, and only took about 30 minutes. I informed him I got their name from Angie's List and $15 was knocked off the price. My main reservation about using Priority Appliance again would be the cost: you can find that exact part for as low as $15 online, shipping included. This means that they are doing something like marking up the part at least 400% (the online guys are making money too, after all), plus charging the equivalent of $200 an hour in labor for something like this. There is value in being able to get somebody out first thing on a Monday, with the right part, but if I had a major repair I'd want at least one other quote. The "right" price for this repair feels a lot more like $100 on the high side -- that would be $30 for the part (100% markup, which is still a ton), plus 30 minutes at $140/hour in labor (which is still sky high).
Description of Work: Washer lid switch was broken. Repairman replaced the switch, validated that the washer was functional afterwards.

I called mid-morning on a Monday when I was off work, hoping I could get my dishwasher looked at that day because it was not draining. Steve was very helpful on the phone - he said he would check with a repairman who was already out on calls in my area. They were able to schedule me for mid-day that same day. Mike was on-time, and got to work right away. He discovered the seed in the drain tube, and was able to get the old water drained from the dishwasher without any mess. When we were putting the racks, etc. back in, he noticed the washer was on the bottom distribution sprinkler and the tube that carries water to the top rack sprinkler were both pretty worn and should be replaced. He had the parts in his truck, and installed them easily, and showed me how much thicker the new washer was.
Description of Work: Found and cleared the blocked drain line from the dishwasher. Also installed new parts for the water distribution in the dishwasher: a liner/washer on the bottom sprinkler, a new tube and sprinkler for the upper rack.
