The repairman was very upset he wasn't able to fix it. We ended up ordering a new refridgerator. They reimbursed us for the cost of the repair. They were extremely honest and friendly.
Description of Work: They ordered a new compressor for my refridgerator and installed it. He turned it on and after several hours, we realized it wasn't cooling like it should. There was something else wrong.

Overall, this company failed me. They don't vent dryers. Period. Don't know who does, don't want to find out, don't want to ask the boss. I will not be calling them again, not for anything.
Description of Work: Person on the phone was polite enough but totally disinterested when I described my dryer problem. Beyond "we don't do that" -- no suggestions, no help on who to call, no interest in finding out. Blech!

It went well--with the very slight glitch on getting the appointment scheduled, they came out much more quickly than I thought they would be able to, the service visit was efficient and professional--only ran about twenty minutes. Mike H. was friendly and answered all of my questions. I will definitely call this company the next time we have any appliance issues! I thought the $59.00 service call fee ($30.00 to diagnose the freezer problem + $29.00 for the service call) was fair.
Description of Work: Our 8-10 year old upright freezer in our garage no longer stayed as cold as it should, so we called Priority Appliance Repair based on the earlier Angie's List positive reports online. I called on Monday afternoon, 3/19 at 4:22 PM and was told by the receptionist that someone would call me back within one hour to schedule an appointment. No one called me back--so I called back at 5:45 PM. The receptionist apologized and said the repairmen had gone home and that someone would call me the next morning to schedule the appointment ASAP. The next morning, Tuesday, 3/20--I did get a call back promptly at 8:30 AM and was told they could have a repairman come out that morning between 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. I said "yes--so got scheduled". The repairman, "Mike H." showed up a little early at 9:45 AM and was professional and efficient. He quickly diagnosed the problem to be a bad condenser on the freezer, and given its age and estimated repair cost of $700.00--recommended we just get a new freezer. I agreed with him and thanked him for his good service call. Mike showed me the actual temperature of the freezer--it was only 45 degrees and should have been about zero degrees--so clearly was not cooling adequately. Mike H. even showed me on the back of the freezer where the condenser appeared to be damaged/it had an exposed panel which was how they build freezers 5+ years ago. I mentioned that we had just moved about six weeks earlier--then Mike H. asked if maybe the movers had damaged it? He asked if they put the freezer onto the moving van upright or on its side? I said I had no idea.... Mike H. explained that if a freezer is stored on its side, the oil comes out of the condenser and can permanently damage it. I am now filing a damage report on our moving company claim as the freezer was working totally fine before the move and we had never had any issues with it in its 8-10 years prior. We'll see what their response is--but at least I have this repair company's report to back me up.

pI set up an appointment via Priority's website to have our dryer looked at, for between 9 and 11 am two days later. I received a confirmation call the morning of the appointment letting me know the service person, Don, was on his way. Don arrived at 10. He had all of the information I had given when setting the appointment. I showed him the dryer, and he went straight to work. He had it taken apart quickly (and carefully) and was testing the connections in well under ten minutes. It turned out that the motor was the problem, which he would be able to fix but the cost would be getting close to that of a new dryer. I said I'd just as soon go with a new dryer. I had mentioned while we were talking what the problem had been with the gas dryer, and Don told me that I could actually fix it myself. He explained how, and now here I am with a working dryer for less than a $100. I have to say, I really dislike service calls- having to wait around for someone, having a stranger in the house- so much so that although I prefer to be "green" and not replace something that can be fixed, I often will do it anyway. But this was quick, easy, painless - and I learned some very helpful stuff. Any appliance problems we have in the future, I will absolutely be calling Priority!
Description of Work: After a move, the start knob on our electric dryer had broken. I replaced the knob and internal switch, and then the dryer would start, but would not continue running if you let go of the start knob. I wanted to have it fixed if it made sense. We had a gas dryer the previous owners of the house had left, but because of improper venting, it was full of lint (and there was a heavy smell of burning coming from it).

Perfect. Came on time, figured outthe problem immediately, fixed it quickly.
Description of Work: Our old dryer wouldn't work and we figured we would need to purchase a new one since this dryer is at least 20 years old. It's a Roper and we didn't even know if it could be repaired. I called Priority and they scheduled an appointment right away and were very nice about working around my husband's odd schedule (he works nights so needs to sleep in the morning). Mike came out and arrived exactly at 2:00 pm the designated time scheduled. He went in the basement and came up in about 8 minutes saying the job was done. We were amazed!!! Turns out it was only a fuse and the dryer is working like new. What a pleasure to have an honest workman come in and do the simplest thing instead of trying to have us buy more than we need. Mike was professional, courteous and very nice. I will call them again in a heartbeat. He even gave us advice on our stove's heating with no charge.

My freezer wasn't freezing properly; the temperature would fluctuate between 10 and 25 degrees. A technician came out and diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. The repair took about 30 minutes, which is great, but I feel like I could have gotten it done for much less. The reason why I to the technician to do the repair was because I would have had to pay a service call fee and diagnostic fee anyway... Which if I'm not mistsken was going to be about 60 or 70 dollars. Great service, but you can find someone to do it cheaper.

Technician was very professional. He explained everything he was doing and why. He was very educational, explaining about the emergency shut-off system for the dryer (which I did not know about).
Description of Work: On Christmas Eve my Mom-in-Law was doing laundry. She was unable to get our Whirlpool Dryer to operate. Upon checking it I also could not get it to work. Called Priority on the 26th, and they made me an appointment for the next day. The service technician arrived at the agreed time. He was very professional. After examining the Whirlpool Dryer, he found that a clothing item had jammed the drum keeping it from spinning, which tripped the safety switch. After removing the item, he recycled the dryer, and it worked perfectly. I was very pleased that I was not going to have to purchase a new dryer.

When the heating element in my 25-year+ oven died, I was afraid the appliance couldn't be repaired since the oven is no longer manufactured. Steve assured me that the oven-maker had been bought by another company and that parts should still be available. Don, the serviceman, came within the timeframe Steve had set and confirmed that the only issue with the oven was the heating element. He did not have the part on his truck but said it could be ordered and would be available within 10 days. True to his word, he returned within 10 days with a new element. The oven now works fine, and the company guarantees their repair for a year. The cost of the repair was well worth it even though the oven is old. (The size of this built-in oven does not conform to the measurements of today's ovens, so the cabinetry would have to be redone--a kettle of fish I sure wanted to avoid!) Both Don and Steve--and their office assistants--were extremely polite and professional, and they'd be my first call should I need other appliance repairs.

They were prompt in their services considering it took place on a Friday afternoon and early Monday. They did test the drainage after the sock was pulled out and it did drain. But with a full load of clothes it still didn't always drain which led to getting a new pump. They were very prompt on their service call. I really appreciated it. Thanks!
Description of Work: Whirlpool Duet didn't always drain. First time service the repairmen found a sock in drain hose. How that happened is unknown but I did see it myself. However that didn't fix my problem. They did have to come back and install a new drain pump. They did give credit from my first bil, off for the new pump. Now it completely fixed.

Our Kitchenaid dishwasher (not new) had stopped washing dishes as cleanly and efficiently as in previous years. It did still run. I called Priority and an appointment was quickly scheduled. Repairman was courteous and thorough and determined that the pump was no longer working properly and needed to be replaced. He even explained to me what he looked for in determining the pump power and effectiveness. We discussed the cost difference between replacing the pump and replacing the dishwasher and he gave me valuable advice regarding the expected overall life of a dishwasher, also how I could find a proper cleaning agent to extend the life. I decided to go with replacing the pump. When he determined that he did not have the correct type of pump already in his truck, he said he would return. An appointment was made for the following day. The installation was completed and the dishwasher is working just fine once again. Even though the pump was expensive, it was a better choice than replacing the washer and I feel comfortable that we were given good advice regarding future expectations. I was also impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the phone scheduler. Both she and the repairman give the impression that this is a company that cares about the service it provides to its customers. Would definitely recommend and use again.

I had a problem with my washing machine and I called the company and schedule an appt. The repair man came out and it turns out after 3 mins of looking at the machine that I need to buy a new one. My only complaint was when I tried to use my coupon from Angie's List for %50 off the service call he told me if you read the small fine print that is only valid with a repair charge but he only did a diagnostic for me. I was just a little disappointed in the small print I guess. But I would still use this company again.
Description of Work: My washing machine wasn't working after buying my new home. It would just sit there and hum. It turns out that there was only one water line run into the machine. Once we figured that out we found that the seal was also broken and the transmission was locked up. The machine started smoking.

Priority called me at 9 a.m., said they'd be out within an hour, and showed up at 9:35 a.m. The GE washer as spinning but not agitating, and Mike was able to pinpoint the cause within 15 minutes. He replaced the worn part, tested by running the machine through a brief wash cycle, and was on his way. He was friendly, very professional, very thorough in his analysis of the problem. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Priority and plan on using them again when the need arises.

I called and scheduled appointment several days ahead of time so that I could have the entire day to be at home, though they offered to come out same day that I called. Technician called again day of appointment to firm up arrival time of between 1pm - 4pm. He actually showed up around 2:30, so I considered this puntcual. He pinpointed problem right away, had replacment part on truck, and fixed the dryer same day. Actual time in and out was about 30 minutes. Expained in detail what was wrong and gave me the old part to inspect. This is second time we've used this company and will continue to use as needed.

Called company to repair a fridge. The freezer was not cooling. The repairman said that the fan was not working and could replace it, but he noted that the compressor was running a little rough. He said he could replace the fan, but the compressor could go in a week or in a year. Since this was a rental property, I did not want my tenants to be without a fridge. I told him to go ahead and replace the fan and we would take our chances with the compressor. I checked on the repair that day and noted that the compressor was running rough, but wasn't too noisy. An about an hour after I left, the tenant called and said the compressor really sounded badly and that the freezer was still not cooling. I called Priority Appliance and left a message that the fridge was still not working. They called me back the next morning and told me that they would refund the cost of the repair less the service call . I was satisfied with this solution. I ended up having to get a new fridge.

On Friday, 5/20, I discovered my side by side refrigerator was not cold, milk had spoiled. Placed a refrigerator/freezer thermometer in fridge and freezer overnight and Saturday called Priority Appliance Repair after reading their reviews on Angie's List. They made an appt. for the morning of Monday, 23rd. They had a low flat rate for coming out and for diagnosing the problem which appealed to me. Mike arrived early Monday morning and removed the rear panel of the freezer compartment. We could see the coils had frosted over. He knew the problem and removed the rear panel on the refrigerator to check the Defrost Control Panel. Finding it not working correctly, he replace it with a newer version, then replace both panels and told me to leave both the freezer and refrigerator doors open overnight so the coils could defrost. He also suggested runnning a fan facing the freezer compartment to facilitate defrosting. After he'd been gone a few hours I realized that replacing the rear panel in the freezer compartment would only slow down the defrosting so I removed it and with the fan blowing cool air on the coils, it defrosted by 6PM. I appreciated Mike's thoroughness but wondered why he didn't suggest leaving the rear panel off until the coils had defrosted. I also feel their price was exorbitant. It was after he'd removed both panels and diagnosed the problem that he told me the price of the repair and it was not a time for bargaining. The next day I looked up the retail price of the Defrost Control Panel and saw it was between $60 and $70 dollars. A far cry from $298 even factoring in the initial diagnostic charge and Mike's time making the repair.
