+ -1 moreOur 12 year old refrigerator with in door ice and water began to experience occasional instances of the water continuing to dribble out from the water dispenser after we had removed a glass. One time in just twenty minutes half of the kitchen floor was covered in water as well as the door of the refrigerator. We called on New Year's Eve and they arranged an appointment for the first thing on Jan. 2. The service technician listened to our description of the problem, asked some questions, and quickly diagnosed the issue. He explained very clearly what had happened and what needed to be done to fix it and the cost. He was not going to proceed until we had all the information needed to decide whether to go ahead with the repair. He was very professional and quickly took care of the problem. It is now one week later and the problem remains solved.

+ -1 moreMy wife called on a Friday thinking that we had called J &J Appliance Repair. ( A company that we have used ibn the past and was listed highly on Angie's List). We were informed by Steve that Ken, from J & J had retired and that Priority Appliance had picked up his clients. We scheduled an appointment for that day. They were going to come between 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM. When it got to be around 6 PM and we had not heard from Priority Appliance my wife called. They said that they we still coming after the call they were on in approximately 45 minutes. My wife asked if they could come back on Saturday. They said, "Not a Problem," and that they would arrive between 12"30 PM and 3:30 PM Saturday. Mike showed up at 12:35 PM. Mike indeed diagnosed the problem as a clogged drain in the freezer. I am glad we had him come versus us thawing the refrigerator ourselves. Mike had to remove panels and shelves in the refrigerator to remove all of the water and ice. He then was able to add the plug with a heat element. Mike was very professional in his demeanor as well as very cordial and polite. We look forward to using Priority Appliance in the future.
Description of Work: We had water accumulating on our shelves in the refrigerator. Mike, the technician, came out unfroze the drain that is in the freezer. He also cleaned out all the ice and water that had accumulated in the freezer and refrigerator. He also installed a plug that has a heat element to it that will not allow the drain to freeze up.

They were on site for approximately one hour. My husband was very happy with the communication and work of the technician.

+ -1 moreI called Priority because our dryer was making a scraping sound. They sent Don that same day - no extra charge. He arrived within the service window and had the problem diagnosed within minutes. He advised me that the cost of the repair was about half that of a new dryer which I appreciated. I decided to have him proceed with putting in the new parts and he completed the fix in minutes. Since we also have an issue with our washer, it's working but the clothes come out pretty wet, I asked for his advice on that. He took a quick look and told me to contact the manufacturer first to see what they could do since the washer is fairly new. I couldn't be happier with the service Don provided. I'll definitely call Priority again and recommend them to friends and family.

We decided not to repair it and will purchase a new unit. It was very helpful to find out the source of our problems. we will definitely use them again in the future.

+ -1 moreWe tried to get an estimate from GE on how much it would cost but in parts and labor and they would not commit to any pricing till a service tech came out. We called Priority Appliance Repair and for a nominal service fee, which included the Angies's List member discount, they came out and gave us an estimate. The service fee would be applied toward the estimate of the repair if we decided to have the work done.They even suggested that it may not be worth it to replace the part and that we might be better off just buying a new stove. We decided to wait before making a decision on whether to repair or buy new but in the end we decided to get it repaired. Priority Appliance quickly ordered the part needed, called us immediately when it came in and was able to come out the next day to replace the touchpad. They were punctual and professional.
Description of Work: The touchpad on our GE stove did not work therefore we couldn't use our oven so it had to be replaced.

He even followed up with what we should do in the event that the dishwasher needed other parts, and he quoted on the spot, how much that service would be. Good for us that our dishwasher is now running smoothly!! Nice job!

+ -1 moreAll in all, from start to (this hopeful) finish has been an extremely satisfactory experience with every person within the company. From the people who answer the phones, to Steve who schedules appointments and Don the service tech who is just great I would recommend this company to anyone in need.
Description of Work: Malfunctioning Refrigerator & Convection Oven needed repair. (2 separate instances) First time was to repair the refridgerator. Diagnosis was that the control board needed to be replaced, and the technician had the part in the truck already - BONUS! Fixed on the spot is always a plus when you have a fridge full of groceries. Having had a good experience the first time we contacted Priority again to look at ourr convection oven which kept shutting off. They typically do not service my brand of ovens, but sent someone out to look anyway. Again a control board was determined as the issue. Ordered the part and within a week was back to install. Upon installation of control board, 2 pilot lights were inoperable. Called back the next day, and had someone out within hours to repair this issue. Turns out the control board was not in fact the issue as oven would continue to shut off. Had someone come back again to look at the connections and determined it could be the fan instead. We agreed that if it happens again to call and the company would then order a new replacement fan. Waited a week to see if the problem corrected itself and it did not. I called yet again to have the replacement fan ordered and to my surprise was told they pro-actively ordered the part already and it was available to be installed. They had someone to my house within 3 hours of the phone call to do the work (and did not charge me for parts or labor!)

+ -1 moreVery professional, came on time, same day service. Called another provider which we have used before, they were going to take 4 days to be able to service my dryer. Had the part needed on the truck. Would use Priority again, and refer.
Description of Work: 14 Month old Samsung dryer was not drying, and drum would not rotate. Everything else worked, timers/cycle. Tech came out to find the fan belt snapped.

+ -1 moreMike was very nice and did a great job. However, I think $159 is ridiculous considering it took less than 1/2 hour and all he had to do was melt some ice. Since it would have cost me $99 for him to do nothing, I had him fix it. Now I know how to fix it if it happens again.
Description of Work: My refrigerator was leaking. I thought the water line was damaged. It turns out that the drain in the freezer was clogged. Mike used a steamer to unclog it. (The clog was actually ice.)

+ -1 moreThe technician came out promptly the day after I called on Sept 5. He quickly determined the bake element had broken in my Dacor over and showed me where it was obviously broken. They carry the most common brands on the truck but my specific element had to be ordered. Technician said it should arrive in a day or two and he should be back on Friday or Saturday. I called on Tuesday to check the status of the part. They called back and said it would arrive on Wednesday. Technician came back on the following Thursday to install the new part. He made sure the oven heated prior to leaving. The technician was knowledgeable and professional. They could do a better job communicating if there was a delay in obtaining parts so the customer can know what to expect. Other than that, I was very pleased with the price and workmanship and would recommend this company.

+ -1 moreThen: This was a very simple visit. I called this morning, explained my need, and was told that someone would call back as soon as possible. An hour or so later, someone did call and gave me a service time half an hour later if I wanted it, which I did. The serviceman was prompt and courteous and professional. He fixed what needed fixing, I paid him, and he left. Then I wrote this. :-) Today: He came and discovered a leak in the refrigerator itself and fixed it without any problem. And also without any charge Now *that* is a company that stands by its service!
Description of Work: Two years ago, this: He fixed a broken line to the ice maker as well as a frozen drawer that had not been able to move in over a year. :-) Now, the leak appeared once again, and because he had told us that this was really only a matter of a bad connection, we called again and asked if he would come again and find the *real* problem and fix it without a charge. And fix it he did!

Description of Work: I called to have my refrigerator water line replaced because the water and ice from the door had a bad taste. The gentleman gave me specific instructions to clear the water line by running the water for at least a gallon (I ran over two gallons) and see if the water still tasted bad. He said the new lines would be quite expensive and I could try this first. Sure enough, the water lost the taste. He then told me to run the ice maker and discard two full containers of ice before using them. I told him I had removed the filter and shut down the ice maker some time ago. He suggested I get a brand new filter and run water through that for another gallon or so to get out any sediment from the filter.

He let me know that the cost would probably be more than replacement and suggested I replace the washer. All in all, he was courteous and very responsive. He charged me for the inspection.

+ -1 moreThis would be my first Angie's List fail. We have a newer model Samsung fridge that potentially has had a fan fail with the ice maker. We contacted this repair shop and explained the problem. We gave them the make and model number. They indicated that while they don't typically work on Samsung and don't stock the parts, they said that they would come out and see what the problem was. With the Angie's List discount, this seemed like it could work (or at least figure out if there's a problem before it becomes a bigger issue). My husband took the day off work and when the repair guy arrived, he took one look at the refrigerator (a french door style) and said that he couldn't work on this model. We have now lost days where we could have had someone else repairing this appliance. When I called up to find out why they even bothered to send out someone if they couldn't work on this model Samsung, Steve apologized and offered a "free trip" out for our next appliance repair.... But I can't say that I trust them to know what they are doing if they didn't even bother to check and see if they could actually work on the model that we are calling about. They wasted my time and their own.

+ -1 moreTechnician said the part needed would be difficult to find and the expense would be more than the refrigerator was worth (a 20 year old side by side, but top of the line in its day). He recommended buying a new one. However, I was able to find the part easily online and install it myself for a fraction of the cost and hopefully keep it running for a few more years.
Description of Work: Service was prompt and on time. He performed some diagnostic procedures to isolate the problem and he confirmed what I had suspected--that the damper control was not working.
