Let me say this: I am VERY experienced with moving companies because I have moved an elderly relative (with heavy antique furniture, a piano, lots of fragile items) FIVE TIMES. I've experienced the gamut of moving companies, from the worst (being hassled or pressured for tips, movers who act put out by requests, movers who "disappear" for periods of time between loads or locations, movers who obviously care more about their time than your things, movers who left broken items, dented and damaged pieces, damaged walls, fixtures and floors, etc.) to the best. By FAR, Happ Movers are the BEST, most careful, most conscientious movers in the business. To top it off, they are genuinely nice guys: well mannered and respectful: no foul language (this was important when I was moving my elderly relative and equally important on move-in day with my kids around), no bad attitude. I would never, NEVER trust a move to anyone else. When they moved my 82-year-old aunt, they were kind enough to actually indulge her by moving furniture into place (and then rearranging it until she was happy), and even hanging pictures for her and giving her some sweet compliments. When they moved my family and me, they spent an entire day packing us and an entire day moving us. Both days went seamlessly. You can probably find cheaper movers. But, your piece of mind and treasured possessions are valuable. I actually paid for Happ to travel from their headquarters in Glenview to our home in Chicago to our new home in St. Charles: worth every penny. Having been through this a number of times, I would never use any other moving company.

I am an incredibly particular individual and shared my concerns and past moving experiences with Greg. He listened and assured me the move would be handled with care and professionalism. They genuinely cared about my house and my belongings... They were thoughtful and courteous. The move took exactly the amount of time I thought it should have and that they quoted. I would recommend Happ movers to anybody.

When getting estimates, they were very clear and up-front about the costs. On moving day, we were only able to book the freight elevator for a 2-hour period, starting at 10am. The guys arrived early, at 9:30 and, thankfully, the building manager allowed us to have the elevator right then. Three guys showed up with a large truck, and after a quick tour to see what we had, they went straight at it. One guy stayed at the truck, one guy stayed in the apartment and the other moved furniture and boxes between them. They were very efficient and professional. Took apart any furniture that needed it (such as our bed frame) and then reassembled at our new place. Despite our relatively small apartment, we seemed to have accumulated a lot of stuff over three years ("Are you sure this is all coming from just one apartment?"), but they had the truck loaded in about 3 hours. At our new place, they unloaded and reassembled the furniture and were done by about 4pm. It was our first "proper" move, which we found stressful leading up to the big day, but we needn't have worried, Happ Movers were great!

Happ's 2 large trucks arrived at the public storage 7AM on the dot. I spoke to the 4 man team to let them know what was where...The 1st floor storage unit I had to split items as to what was going to my parents condo and what was to go to my new house. The 3rd floor storage unit had all my stuff all going to the new house. Also both units had furniture fully stocked. Happ mentioned it will go faster to keep the men in one spot and I agreed they are the pros! We then headed to the condo so they unloaded my parents stuff into the condo after they took my stuff out of the condo which is also furnished. Also they had to go the length of the complex indoor parking lot as the association makes them go through the garage access. Then my association did not lock the elevators for them so that extended the time. Once we finished at the condo around noon. One truck headed to my brother in laws house to pick up a dining set the other grabbed lunch to help save time. Final destination was the new house. Both trucks came to the new house at the same time and started to unload at a very rapid pace so fast I couldn't keep up, my wife and father-in-law helped point were to put stuff on each floor. By 2:30 all was done and Happ set up my furniture, and items to donate in my garage very nicely. Nothing was damaged and we had a ton of breakables. The gentleman were excellent really trying to help me out to save time. We have previously used Happ in 1997, 1998 and 2010.

They were friendly, helpful, and I had an overall excellent experience. If you only need 2 men it is a little bit cheaper. They put the cups underneath the flooring to protect the flooring. They were quick, didn't waste time.

Happ movers provided 4 men to move our belongings out of 2 PODs containers into our new house. They arrived promptly at about 8am and busted their butt to get done in less than 1.5 hours. No damage to anything, no slackers, no problems whatsoever.

I got them through Angie’s List. My experience with them was very good. The team that came out was very professional. They handled all the boxes and furniture very efficiently. It was a very smooth and quick move. They did a very nice job.

Job went very well. Movers arrived on time, books were packed up and moved, and unpacked efficiently and with care.

They showed up on time and did what they said they were going to do. They were very reliable no bad surprises.

The guys who came to move the couch were very courteous, helpful, persistent, efficient, strong and friendly. The price was very good for the amount of work and the time it took. I received a few calls throughout the day updating me on the time they'd arrive. All in all, it was a satisfying experience.

I was trying to find a mover to accomodate a piano without hiring two companies. My initial discussion showed they were experienced and organized. They arrived on time, were friendly and professional and careful. They did not charge additional for the few steps at the destination location. The movers took appropriate time to plan which entrance to use and how to move the piano and set it in place. They also took the time to expalin to me how to move the piano without scratching the floor, if I ever needed to move it. It was an easy move tand they treated my mothers belongings as if their own.

They were very pleasant and helpful over the phone. We discussed dates and times and they got back to me as promised when they need to coordinate with other moves. In the end, I think they showed up a bit later than expected for my afternoon move, but I had noted ahead of time that my schedule was flexible, so this wasn't an issue. Over the phone, they outlined charges and clarified that they use bands and blankets as opposed to bubble wrap and tape, which I was glad to hear because bubble wrap and tape are bad for the environment and tend to hurt the pocketbook, too. Also, our move was only about a mile and most of the furniture was hand-me-down items destined for our unfinished basement. That said, our vintage player piano is priceless and irreparable, I was nervous about that piece. Built in the 1920s it's an upright that's about close to 5 feet high and weighs about 800 pounds. They brought it up a wide flight of stairs, loaded it into the truck and delivered it safely to my living room, where it passed the ultimate test-- the player mechanism still works. We previously moved the piano with Burrows, whose crew wrapped and cared for the piano more carefully. However, Happ moved the piano along with several items, like a futon frame and several 6-foot tall bookshelves, for less than it cost me to move only the piano with Burrows about two years earlier. The Happ crew took care to protect our newly refinished wood floors as they brought items into the house. My bill was less than expected because the crew worked efficiently and, happily, there were no hidden or extra charges

We hired them to move my mother in law from one apt to another in the same complex. They were fast and everything went well. We also hired them to move some furniture to a consignment shop.

They were perfect. They were really good guys!

The move was set for 7:30 am and Paul, Jesse and Earl were 10 minutes early, which I loved! They set up and we all headed up the elevator to Mom's condo. They were curteous to residents and did not hold up the only elevator during the move so people could go to work. The 3 pieces were quickly and carefully moved into the hallway for staging. The sofa bed went down first, along with my Mom who led them to the spot where it was to be placed for pickup. This went smoothly. The 2 pieces going to my house were loaded into the elevator and onto the truck quickly and efficiently. I left to get to my house and they were right behind me. The chest and dresser were placed exactly where I wanted them and they asked if there was anything else I needed moved. The whole job took 1 1/2 hours and went off without a hitch. They were friendly, helpful and I would indeed use this service again.

They were on time, efficient, and did everything I asked.

After we discussed the appointment time, they called back to get me in the next day. I had called another piano mover I had used in the past and that mover never called me back, which meant I was short of time to get the piano moved. I will probably use them for general moving also. They checked the piano beforehand for scratches etc. and brought them to my attention. The 3 guys they sent were strong enough to lift the piano and had the specialized equipment. Let's face it, their guys were prompt and sober which is not always the case with one time movers.

They arrived at the very beginning of the delivery window, loaded up the piano in a matter of minutes and dropped it off in a matter of minutes. The total cost was only $135 which was below estimate. Throughout the move they were professional and I had confidence that they were handling the piano well. I definitely recommend them.

I called Happ on Tuesday for an estimate to move a piano. She said it would probably take three guys 2.5 hours to complete the job and that they could do it first thing the following morning! I called a couple other places and Happ's estimate was right in the middle of the other two and Happ was so much more organized and professional, so I reserved the time. On Wednesday morning, they showed up right on time and were done in 2 hours. What a great job! They were very careful with my piano, on a wet day and up to a "high" first floor. I would definitely recommend them!

They were wonderful! Picked up and delivered much earlier than expected. The movers chose the most direct route and did an excellent job!

Happ was very accomodating. The movers came early due to a scheduling mix-up. There was severe weather that day so many of Happ's customers were switching schedules and creating chaos with Happ's day. Despite this the scheduler kept his cool, and the movers who met me a the studio apartment were courteous and easy to deal with. When we got to my two story house we needed the goods dispersed to both the second floor and the basement. We also needed to have some items moved from the second floor to the basement to make room. The movers handled everything we threw at them without grumbling. Happ bills by the hour, and did not seek to gouge us for the extra time wasted in the morning with the scheduling mix up. This is the second time we have used Happ, and will use them again.

Called for an estimate and received a quote over the phone. Movers arrived up on time and delivered to the destination on time. Courteous and polite - would use again!

Happ was the only mover we called who offered a reasonable price for a small job. We had to move our treadmill from upstairs to downstairs and since it was down a flight of steep, slate stairs, we thought it would be best to hire a professional. The other moving companies we called quoted us minimum prices and travel charges from $160-$280, even though this was less than a half an hour job. Happ quoted us $109, but only charged us $81 when it took less time than we thought. We are very appreciative that they agreed to do this small job at such a reasonable price and will definitely call them when we have a larger move. Very much recommend. (Also, really nice people ... and they were able to fit us in a day after we called.)
