Description of Work: Bought a Angie's special. Called to scheduled work, spoke to the boss. Was told they could not schedule until after Christmas which I believed reasonable. After scheduling work they arrived late due to previously scheduled job ran late. They did not call to inform me they were running late. If they had I could have gone to a previously scheduled appointment and been home in time. I had two jobs for them. After looking at first job, the Electrician called to boss and spoke to him in Russian, or an East European language, so I had no idea what was said. I was then handed the phone, and told the job could not be done, as it was not to code. The house was built to code otherwise I could not have gotten an occupancy permit when I moved in. They wanted to rip my kitchen wall down to do the job. I declined. The second job was to repair an outside fixture that had come off the wall. All they did was put a screw in the fixture which sticks out like a sore thumb. So I paid 199.00 for a screw.

Response from Blazer Electric Co
We could not replace this light fixture because it would be very dangerous. The Customer has bare wires inside of the wall - it is a fire hazard, and there is no grounding - which is a life safety hazard. There is not even an electrical box there - the light is screwed directly to the wall. It is a blatant violation of electrical and building code. We have offered 2 ways in which the problem could be resolved, but the customer declined. This work was arranged through a special $99 web-site deal.

Description of Work: We had one light fixture and 4 ceiling fans installed into our recently purchased condo. Jack communicated well by both phone and email. He was polite and professional, and thru Angie's List we got several discounts. We ran into some unexpected circumstances during the process of installation (concrete ceilings) and they were able to switch gears and re-evaluate what needed to be done. Jack ran out for additional supplies, and the two guys with him stayed and continued working. The workers were also very professional and easy to work with. There was only a slight adjustment for additional supplies on our bill. They were not able to find how to make one of the fans link to the wall switch, and after we purchase a remote for that fan they are coming back to install it. We were very happy with Blaze Electric and would recommend them to anyone.

Description of Work: Jack was extraordinary. He helped me with installing a ceiling fan and a chandelier and it did it right before a party that I was having. He is the MOST courteous contractor that I have ever met. And a very good family man as well. Sometimes you doubt reports that you read--as I do. Jack is the genuine article---a true pleasure to deal with. Bob Fortune

Great...se above comment!
Description of Work: In a word...Jack is a Professional. We had an unusual power outage and Jack took the challenge over the phone and showed up ON TIME at 8am on Saturday. Without hesitation he diagnosed the possible problems and within 15 minutes found an unusual crack in the electric box that had disconnected one of the power wires from the main source. This project required a call to ComED. Jack made the call himself and while waiting for ComED to shut the power down in order to finish the work, he went off to get the electric cable holder for the meter box which was the source of the problem. Jack returned and finished the work to the point where he required action by ComED. ComED became a critical player because they had to splice a line in which they balked at because some cement needed to be removed...and in their words " We don't do cement." Without hesitation Jack returned in the evening (8 PM) and connected the box in a temporary and safe way so that we could have power on a very very cold Feb night. The power was finally restored by ComED at 9PM after Jack made another call. Jack is a very knowledgible licensed electrician who was able to explain the problem and solution in a manner that made sense. I would strongly recommend Jack and Blazer, his company, again. We will certainly use them again in the future for hopefully a less exciting project.
