The owner of the company came to our home and spoke to us at length as to our options. He was very thorough in asking us what our plans and needs were with the house and answered all of our questions. He delivered the estimate that afternoon and told us that installation would begin the following Monday. Two installers arrived on time as promised and began the installation. They inspected the existing ducting in a very cramped attic and discovered that the supply ducting was too small, which they corrected within the original bid. The installers were very professional and finished the installation on Wednesday at noon. After the installation was complete, they spoke with us about the the new system and answered all of our questions. Overall, our experience with Tru-Temp was extremely positive. My wife and I never felt pressured to purchase more of a system than we needed, and felt that the installation was very high quality. Tru-Temp delivered on their promises. The fact that they found and fixed the supply duct problem in the cramped attic attests to their thoroughness and integrity.

They didn't give me a quote on what installation would cost me, so it surprised me when the bill was three hundred plus dollars. They also didn't seal up something so I had to put duck tape on it. When I had called them in the past they were there the same day.

After learning that our 31+ year old furnace had cracks in the heat exchanger, it was time for it to finally be replaced. We got quotes from several companies, and decided to go with TruTemp because of Mort Melnik's thorough evaluation of our current heating system and low dollar estimate for the same type of furnace that other companies were quoting $500 to $700 more for. When the installation was first scheduled, Mort called to say that the technicians were both sick with the flu, and didn't want to bring them into our home in that condition. We scheduled the installation for a week later. Mort even gave us a $50 discount for the delay. When the technicians arrived, they evaluated our current system and needed more supplies than were available that day. They did what work they could without disconnecting the furnace (since it was about 25 degrees outside), and told us that they would return the following morning with everything that would be needed to complete the installation. They arrived right on time the next morning and got right to work. Since we were having a 95% efficiency unit installed, a new vent pipe had to be run to the outside of the house. To do this, they had to use a 20 foot pipe in order to reach the back of our home. Luckily, no holes were required to be cut into our finished basement's ceiling in order to get the pitch right on the pipe. That was a bonus (even though Mort had already stated that any drywall cuts would be repaired by them if needed). My husband and I observed the technicians for most of the day while they worked. They were very friendly and answered any questions or concerns that we had. Steve, one of the techs even told us that our children were a pleasure to be around (they are 5 and 3) and even took home a picture my 5 year old made for him and hung it on his refridgerator! TruTemp had previously installed a new air conditioning unit for us about 7 years ago, and we've had no problems with it. I would surely recommend this company for any heating and cooling needs.
