The owner himself came to the house to give the estimate. He was thorough, professional, and he really knew his business. He did a test to see how much heat was coming into the house and how much I was losing to the outside. He dealt with several different companies directly to get me my rebates. I didn't have to fill out any forms because he did it for me and he also showed me what the price was before I had my rebates. I think he was very, very good. I would absolutely use them again.

Tested the house for leakage pre and post work. Showed up as scheduled. Were careful not to track material into the house. Were polite and friendly. Highly professional. Were quick to respond to e-mail questions. What is most amazing is that we were not expecting improvements in home circulation until winter. However, there was an immediate improvement in summer temperatures in the upstairs. We have scarcely used the AC and the house stayes almost uniformly cool.

Kevin McCoy the owner of the company showed up for the initial appointment and came into my home. He did a "blower door test " on our house and checked for air leaks. Kevin gave me an estimate of how much it would cost to air seal and insulate the attic area of our house. 2 days later I scheduled the work to be done by Kevin/Green Home Winterization. Kevin had to cancel the work because of some equipment problems. He agreed to reschedule the work with me shortly thereafter. Kevin never returned the call,and I had to call him 4 times more and only got his voice mail. He never did return my call even after I asked him to PLEASE provide the courtesy of a return phone call. I went with another company and was treated much better. This was the first time I was ever completely blown off by a contractor. Very strange, and I could not recommend that you trust this company.

They were good, quick and fast. The staff's personality is good.

Kevin first came in and did the energy audit with the blower door test. I knew I had some issues with insulation in certain areas, but I was pretty shocked to see all the exposed areas in my newer (2007) house. Kevin did a great job of explaining how some builders cut corners and what is worth fixing and what isn't He gave me an estimate of what it would cost to do the fix and how much Ameren would likely subsidize. His team came to do the work that we agreed upon a month or two later. They were quiet and efficient and took the time to explain all the work they did. It only took one day and they were done. Ever since then my house feels much cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The problem areas (under my fireplace and breakfast nook) are no longer problems and my energy bill is much lower. Overall I am very happy with the work that was done.

They were very professional and worked with us to get a rebate on the work that we had done. Unfortunately, our house has limitations on what insulation they were able to install, and they were unable to insulate our roofline or walls. They were courteous, friendly, professional, and quick. Their quote was great, and they communicated well through the entire process. We would hire them again in a heartbeat!

They arrived on time and performed a very informative energy audit. We plan to use him to make some improvements to make our house more energy efficient.

Following an energy audit from our local utility company, Ameren, we asked for proposals from two companies under Ameren's cost share program. We selected Green Home Weatherization. Staff arrived as scheduled. Work included 2-part spray foam insulation on attic knee walls and rim joists, adding 6 inches of cellulose insulation in the attic, and adding air seals over ceiling can lights. Work took part of two days plus another half day when the crew returned to complete rim joist foam spraying not done earlier due to moisture found behind old fiberglass insulation that had to dry. My wife and I were particularly impressed by the care the crew took in returning the work areas to their previous condition and removing all trash materials. They also answered all questions and made suggestions for other improvements when requested. Another impressive feature of Green Home's work was their testing of air loss both pre and post their work. The pre test was done as part of their project review before even making a proposal. The other company indicated that they only did the air test after they received a contract. We could not determine how they could make an accurate proposal if they did not know more about what work was needed. Therefore, I would suggest to others considering such work to ask the contractor whether they do tests at both stages - including one as part of their proposal work up.

From the beginning, Green Home Weatherization was outstanding. Kevin came to the house to do a full assessment of what was needed, including pressure testing the house, thermal imaging, etc. Scheduled us for a crew, even including an extra day "just in case". Crew showed up as scheduled on first day - spent the day sealing all access points (including wiring, wall joints, can lights, speakers, fireplace, ductwork)by placing special boxes over lights and speakers, then using spray foam to seal around the boxes, all wiring, etc. Spray foamed all crawlspace walls. In a few instances, the spray foam found openings that allowed it to penetrate into the house (around bathroom vents, poorly sealed ductwork, etc.) and the crew was right on top of it getting it cleaned up. Came back the next day laid moisture barrier in crawlspace and used blown insulation in the attic. In addition, they also built an "airlock" around the attic access which not only prevents heat loss through the access, but also prevents insulation from falling through when the access is opened. When the crew finished, Kevin came back and inspected their work and conducted a new pressure test and thermal imaging on the house to ensure that all problems had been resolved. Without seeing new utility bills, I cannot say how much this will save in the long run, but we have already noticed a huge difference in how long the A/C runs and how the house feels, and we are confident that this will result in a substantial cost savings in the future.Kevin and his crew were very professional, courteous and thorough, and we would absolutely use them again if needed.
