The experience did not go well. Rose construction left with the work done poorly. You could still see one of the cracks after it had been patched and painted. There was a dark spot as well that showed on the repaired spot. There was drywall compound left all over the dishwasher. When we called to complain to Rose construction, I was told to rub really h****** the dishwasher to remove the residue, as it was water based so it should come off. They said that they would be back the next (3/27)day to look at the crack as they were busy for the rest of the night. Rose construction came back on 3/27 and admitted the crack was not repaired correctly. They did patch and feather the crack and repaint it. The crack looked better than it had, however, you could still see where it had been repaired. On 4/2, we noticed the crack that had been repaired, and rerepaired, showing through again. We have called and emailed Rose construction explaining the situation, and have not received a call or email back. We have also been using the concierge service to keep them updated on this. They have also been calling Rose Construction and have not received any calls back either.

The work they did was great. They were punctual, nice and clean. Joel came out on February 14 to look at the work that needed to be touched up. He indicated that he would be in contact with us once he finished up some other jobs he was working on. From March 11-17, I contacted him 50 times to make sure he would be able to come back and finish the work; I have yet to hear from him.

I called Joel about the work and we agreed to meet that afternoon at about 5pm. He arrived on time, we discussed the work, and he gave me an estimate on the spot. I already had two other estimates. The contractor for the first estimate could not do the job until next summer, while the second estimate was for about twice the first estimate. Joel's estimate was a little higher than the first estimate, so I asked for a written estimate. I had the estimate in about a day. Joel and a partner arrived on time on the scheduled day, and went to work. It all went well; the new garage ceiling looks good. They had covered the shelves so there was no need for cleaning. All work related material was removed. They provided the paint so there was no need to dispose of leftover paint. The job was a little tricky because some of the tape in the joints between the ceiling and the wall was coming off. Joel managed to do this nicely (don't ask me how he did it). The whole job was done in a day. I was surprised at this because I thought that waiting for the mud (for the tape) to dry would make this a multi-day affair, but he used fast drying mud. It still looks good after 10 days. Excellent work in all respects.

Work was done efficiently and well. Joel was pleasant to work with.

In this day and age, you rarely get what you pay for. But in this case all my expectations for this project were surpassed (by far). If you care about price,quality work and professionalism you must use Rose Constuction. This the first time I used them, but it definately won't be my last!

He was prompt, courteous and professional. They even removed all of the garbage. They completed the work in less then time he originally thought which was great.

This is the best the deck has ever looked.

Aside from a visual review, nothing ever transpired: no follow-up from contractor, no written estimate, no calls, no communication whatsoever. Disappointing.

The time schedule was fairly tight but he and his assistant were able to complete the job which required some creative methods. My wife is very pleased with both the range and the exhaust fan as I am with her cooking.

I contacted Rose, and was immediately replied to through the Message Center. The contractor came out and looked at our small project, and then .... crickets! It was quite strange as they did not reply to emails, voicemails or messages in the Message Center. To me if you are not interested in the job, please tell me so that I can move on. These folks just...well, just did not reply to my messages or communicate at all after they came out for an estimate. Oh well; moving on to someone who wants to help us.

This was the easiest contractor I've worked with. Prompt with the estimate, completed the work timely, I'm satisfied with the job. Mission accomplished.

Could not be more pleased with the work of Joel McCracken and his crew. Price was reasonable and Joel was helpful in offering solutions to our needs. Very professional, high quality work. We would not hesitate to use Rose again for small or large jobs.

He was excellent! Extremely helpful including a free estimate on time it should take. He made sure to get our work done before a personal requested timeline of visitors arriving. He demonstrates a really great skill set of many different trades.

Joel was professional and easy to work with. He did a nice job on the project and cleaned everything up when finished.

They arrive on time and went to work. They were able to complete all of the projects in one day. They cleaned up after the projects were competed.

The whole time ROSE CONSTRUCTION & CARPENTRY INC kept mentioning that this was a large job but they still wanted to take it. When they got out here they decided it was too big. They returned the $50 deposit because I think he bit off more than he could chew and had to back out of the work which caused a delay in time of getting everything done. They were very communicative of everything that was going on.

We had Joel install tile in our laundry room and discussed future work to replace deck stairs that were incorrectly built by another contractor. Joel inspected the stairs built by the other contractor and pointed out over 20 issues with the construction and assured me that he could build better stairs in less time. We discussed timing and determined that early September would be the best bet. A week after getting the quote, he called to tell me that he had an opening for the stairs if we wanted to get them finished early. We set up the appointment and paid a deposit the same day. He and his crew showed up early and got to work. He explained what he was going to do and how it would look upon completion. A day and a half later, the stairs were completed and they are stronger and more visually appealing than what I tore down from the other guy. We will be using Joel's services again in the future for sure.

In my experience, dealing with contractors is often a royal hassle because they don't communicate, their schedules are constantly up in the air and jobs take way too long. My experience was very good with Rose Construction and Joel-it was a very aggressively quoted estimate with a thoroughly detailed discussion and ended with a well executed job. In fact, he completed the job much earlier than originally estimated and that's not a common occurrence with other contractors. We have requested a quote to replace another contractor's failure and expect to see Joel again next month! Rose Construction is the company I've been looking to find for months...

This was a relatively small drywall patch job. I was able to combine it with another small job and this made a good fit for the amount of time allocated. Joel promptly came out for a visit to review the work and price it out, and was very professional in scheduling and later confirming the appointment for the work. The actual work was top notch (PERFECT drywall work), and he did an excellent job cleaning up after himself too. We will definitely be having him back for additional work and would recommend him to anyone who asked.

The demo went smooth - no problems found when removing the soffits, which he told us you just never know until they come down. Everything was removed. Joel added canned lighting and installed a dimmer switch for that as well as for our ceiling fan. The ceiling fan had to be moved a bit. We had a dividing wall shortened a bit to make the entry into the dining room a little larger. He handled the electrical, gas and plumbing. He was prompt and neat, making sure everything was neat when he was done for the day. We chose a herringbone type of pattern for our tile which Joel did first. Awesome job. He hung the cabinets and installed the crown molding. Painted (before the cabinets went in) walls and ceiling. While we were waiting for the countertops, he had time to fix a spot on our hardwood floor that was now a gaping hole, due to shortening our prior dividing wall. When the house was built, they stopped the hardwood when it met the dividing wall. We had some of the original hardwood, from when the house was built, in the crawlspace and Joel was able to match our stain and fix the hole--4 boards had to come out and go back in. After the countertops went in, he redid our plumbing for our new undermounted sinks and got the dishwasher back up and running. We couldn't be more pleased. While a lengthy and time consuming process, it was worth it in the end. We will definitely call Rose Construction for future projects...as in our family room! (regarding the picture of the tile floor...some of the squiglyness is a camera issue, not the tile issue)

The work went great. Joel and his staff worked quickly, the carpentry work is excellent, the deck is as sturdy as our home, provides a seamless transition from in/out, extends our living and entertaining space dramatically and adds beauty to our landscape. This is a large deck with a ramp with concrete landing off of one side (enables me access from my wheelchair into back yard easily), a low lip around the perimeter, a cut out for our grill (now raised on adjoining concrete pad level with deck), mesh animal screening running the entire perimeter, and beautiful detail work/fascia. This is the first summer we'll have to enjoy the deck for the season and we're very happy with this addition to our home.

We originally called Rose Construction to have Joel replace some water-damaged drywall in our basement. He did an excellent job repairing our ceiling (you can't tell it was ever damaged in the first place). He did a great job hanging the drywall, taping it, and mudding it. During those appointments it came up that we needed new patio doors (2). Joel offered to give us an estimate. His estimate was much less than the other two estimates we had done. Joel quickly ordered two Jeldwen patio doors with us being sure to double and triple check the options we wanted. Jeldwen had trouble matching our stain which delayed the project, but Joel kept us informed of the situation as it progressed and came up with a more than reasonable solution. He just put the doors in a few week and they were stained within a week. This job was completed professionally even when circumstances where out of Joel's control.

He was prompt and cleaned after himself in the areas he was working at. GREAT WORK!

The work did not turn out all that well. We had three rooms where wall paper had to be removed. He did a fine job of removing wall paper, but he wasn?t that good at removing glue. So, we ended up having to spend three to four days removing glue before it could be painted. I think he underbid it. Otherwise, he seemed fine.

It did not go. He cancelled when I called him to confirm.
