He did not test hot water heater, kitchen sink, garbage disposal, or sink in laundry room. He missed a 9,000 dollar issue on a roof he says he walked and was in great shape and would last for years to come. He took 2 months to get back to me when confronted with the roof issue, and that was after laughing I my face and admitting he should have caught it! His preinspection agreement is written so he ISN'T RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING!! Even misrepresented things, so he can technically lie about condition of items to help sell a house and not be held responsible. So he has no obligation to be truthful , up to date, or accurate.
Description of Work: David Parkhill is the sole inspector so don't think you might get another person under that company. He showed up on time and that is where the good stops. He had several reasons not to test/inspect 70% of the items in the house including sinks, water heater, and disposer. Then it gets worse he cost me 9,000 by telling me a roof that he supposedly walked was in great condition and should last me years. 2 months later I was on roof cleaning gutters and installing guards and I found over 180 individual nails sticking through the roof. He not only missed that he missed that that roof was installed on two previous layers. When I called him he came over two days later and laughed in my face saying "I can't believe I missed this". said he wanted to talk to a roofer friend of his....two months later he brings a roofer to my house UNANNOUNCED with no one home and climbed on my roof. They told me that I should replace it as soon as possible and that it was three layers when David told me two. I was not given a apology or the refund his own preinspection report says I was entitled to. He is lazy and ignorant. When confronted with the three layers subject, he told me three layers was fine although I had the city's code on roofs in my hand stating two was the maximum. He insisted I was wrong. DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!!!

The bank's representative showed up right when the inspector did, and my husband had yet to arrive. The representative DIDN'T EVEN GET OUT OF HIS CAR, just drove up, took one look at the house and said to the inspector "My bank wont' approve this" and then left. Right after this, my husband showed up, & the inspector told him what happened, and then he said, "well, There's no point in finishing my inspection because of what the bank's representative said" and that was that! He did "misjudge" a thing or two-he said that we didn't have exhaust vents coming from the bathroom, and there are TWO on the roof. BUT, since he didn't go on the roof, or inside the house for that matter, I guess he wouldn't have know that! We hired him to do a job, and he didn't even complete it properly, because he took the word of a bank rep who was too lazy to get out of his car. The only upside to his so-called services is that he only charged us $25 for his inspection, which consisted of just walking around the perimeter of the house & telling us that the mortar on the front & back steps needed to be repaired, or the steps need to be torn down & redone, which we were already quite aware of & had plans to fix anyway. I did contact another inspector after this incident, and was told that he didn't follow proper guidelines. SO, needless to say, I wouldn't recommend him. He could've been having a bad day, etc. or maybe he thought he was doing us a favor since the guy from the bank stated that they wouldn't approve this loan. We ended up going through a locally-owned bank, no inspection was necessary, and we are now the PROUD owners of a historical home built in 1891!
Description of Work: At our bank's request, we had to have an inspection performed on our home that the loan had already been approved, pending inspection.
