Technician did not show up for appointment. No one from Orkin called. I waited two hours. Customer service is difficult to reach.

I called on the services of Orkin early last week. The Orkin branch #513 out of Crystal Lake, IL sent a gentleman to inspect and give an estimate of costs. After a lengthy inspection the Orkin inspector recommended an initial service and then something about "reoccurrence treatments". When I asked him to clarify, multiple times, I was left with the impression someone would be coming in two days to do an initial spray and then subsequent monthly visits for a year. Two days later and TWO HOURS after the scheduled appointment time the exterminator finally arrived. When he arrived he explained what the plan was for the visit, which was completely different from what I had signed up for two days prior. Besides the glaring differences in what this gentleman was under the impression I was having done, he showed up without the agreed upon equipment needed for that days visit. The amount of misinformation I was given at my initial inspection was truly unreal. I was told I wouldn't need to leave my home and certainly wasn't told I would have to stay out for four hours afterwords. This was one of the questions I asked the inspector directly at the inspection. I honestly wonder if the inspector and the actual exterminator even work for the same company. When home owners call on the service of exterminators it's usually under stressful circumstances, and I was not getting that rest assured feeling I'd hope to get. Especially with the price tag they put on it! With all the misinformation and the absolute lack of customer service, BUYER BEWARE!! I have called three times to a central calling center and asked to speak to a manger. Three times the local manager, Tamara Tomic, was not available and I was promised a response within 24-48 hours. To date we have not received a single call back or follow up call from Crystal Lake Branch #513 or Orkin in general. Last resort was the 1-800 number in Atlanta that is supposedly their customer service hotline if you have not received the help you are looking for. And once again I was told the very same manager, Tamara, would get back to me. I would not recommend Orkin to anyone, maybe look for a smaller local company where they value customer service and communication!

We called the Crystal Lake location and booked an appointment with Gary the following day for a free estimate. The technician (Michael Kansihka) never showed up during the scheduled window they gave us. I called the customer service department and spoke with (Sharena) and she said the technician might have been backed up on other appointments and is most likely not going to show up. She said she would send an email to her manager to let them know what had happened, and would have the manager contact me first thing Monday morning to see what they could do for me. Well come Monday I waited all morning and no call, so I decided to call once again and the customer service agent (Anthony) and he said they would have the manager call me and that call never happened either. Do not deal with this company find a local company in your area. If you live near the Elgin area go with Proactive pest management. They were friendly and very knowlageable.

We pay them monthly. They call before they come and ask if we need any inspection inside, so they are pretty thorough about it. They do the interior only if we see anything inside. We are happy with them. We have been with them for probably six to seven years now.

I use them regularly; every two months.He does a good job. I have been using him for eight years. I like the guys that come to my house- that is a big part of it and whatever they do works. They knocked the spiders down, We used to have an ant problem; that is gone completely.

Checked poison containers for mice usage in stratigic parts of the house/garage/crawl space. Sprayed window sills, kitchen and bath areas to keep bugs at bay. Also sprayed outside perimeter of house on occasion to keep bugs, ants, etc from entering. The professional, Dennis, was very helpful throughout the time we employed his company.

When the mosquito guy came over to spray, we have a preserve behind our house that is very heavy laden with mosquitos. He went over it twice where the others hadn't before and then said that if in a couple of days they weren't gone to our satisfaction they would come and spray again free of charge.

I had an issue with some carpenter ants, and they are helping me deal them right now.

They are good. They did everything that they said they were going to do and overall, I like them a lot.

They are professional, responsive and punctual. The quality of their work is good and I have been satisfied with their service.
