John and his son removed old old wallpaper from 4 bedrooms, repaired walls as needed and subsequently repainted all the rooms. The work performed was outstanding and I would highly recommend J&J to my friends and neighbors! They were on time everyday and cleaned up after themselves to the point you wouldn't even know they were there...except for the great paint job they left behind.

John was very responsive and professional. He walked me through what would be necessary to complete the work and the associated costs. He showed up right on time and prepped the area with drop cloths to keep things clean. I was extremely impressed with the quality of work. My wallpaper was hung perfectly, likely the result of years of experience.

They got the proposal to me the next week but I had to initiate that. I called him two weeks later and he said he had been on vacation. He said he had a lot of emails and a lot of jobs. He said he would get back to me to schedule the job. After he did not call me back, I called him. He told me that honestly, my job was too small. I moved on to have someone else paint my rooms.

I'm so glad I found J&J Decorating on Angie's List. John and JD were meticulous, efficient, responsive to all my detailed requests, and kept my new flooring immaculate. Besides being excellent painters, they are really friendly, considerate and nice people to work with. I won't have to search the next time I need help with painting, I'll call them.

Fantastic. Obviously the quality of work is what people value the most, and John and JD's is top-notch, but for me communication is right behind it at #2. John is excellent at coordinating and communicating with you. I've had a number of poor experiences recently with other contractors (including but not limited to painting services) who start the process and act like they're going to follow through with a job, only to brush me off and leave me wondering what is going on, wasting weeks of my time. I understand contractors can get busy at times with a sudden increase in demand, and that some jobs are smaller than others. If you can't fit me in, it's OK, just tell me that up front and I won't leave a negative review. I didn't have any such issues with John. My job was smaller and I told him up-front I was flexible so long as it got done within a couple months, he told me I'd be looking at about 3-5 weeks, and 2 weeks later he contacted me with an opening. Can't ask for more than that. Now as for the job itself, everything came out fantastic. John warned me about the risks (including resale) that come with using a darker color for a room (I went with a very deep chocolate brown). I appreciate this because I like to make informed decisions, and I told him it was OK because the room is a bit unique in that it's for a dedicated home theater, and I wanted it as dark as possible where it would still work with the existing carpet and wood trim. I had bought the paint already and he told me to ensure proper coverage he would provide the primer and tint it real dark. He went with 3 coats (primer + 2 for the paint), and now that it's dry, it looks fantastic. Good consistent texture and color and work done around the trim was concise. I've attached a couple photos of the finished room. Again, keep in mind this is a theater room when seeing the dark color. Note that the woodwork was already stained in the close-up of the small cut-out I have in the wall prior to John and JD's painting. They're very accurate in painting around detailed areas like this, and no areas of trim had any paint bled onto it. If I ever need any painting services in the future, I'll definitely be going with John and JD again.

Finding J&J Painting on Angies List was such a positive experience! John was so professional and accommodating. You can tell he his passionate about his job and that he knows all there is to know about painting. I am so grateful for all his hard work painting my home because he saved my family a ton of money and the house looks great. I would definitely hire them again!

This is the second time that we have hired J and J Decorating. We hired them a couple of years ago to painted our newly finished basement. This time we hired them to paint the primary living space of our house. This included 1 bedroom, 1 office/guest bed, 2 1/2 bathrooms, formal dining room, kitchen, eat in area with vaulted ceilings, living room/foyer with vaulted ceilings and baseboard/trim/doors. We encountered some issues with the coverage of one of the vaulted walls in the living room/foyer. The issue was NOT the fault of J&J. It was caused by the contractor grade paint and drywall work that was done when the house was built. John and JD went above and beyond what was expected of them to ensure that it looked good and that we were satisfied with the finished product. Everything turned out great and we are very happy! They are both extremely professional and polite. They communicate well and take pride in their work. We have some outside painting to do this spring and we will definitely hire them for the job.

John and JD did a great job on our home. John was very thorough and honest when giving us a quote, and gave us several options to work with our budget. When working in our home, they always cleaned up each day after they were finished and let us know what their plans were before they began. Would highly recommend J&J to anyone, and we will be using them in the future.

John and his son were extremely reliable and professional. We hired in July and coordinated a late September start date. Project lasted two weeks and we are extremely satisfied at the results. John even worked on a few last minute projects that were not part of the original plan.

John and JD did a great job. John promptly provided an estimate and arrived on time for the project. John is very responsive and always answered the phone when I called. We had several cracks on walls and ceilings in various rooms. John and JD fixed the cracks and repainted. They even fixed cracks that weren't on the list. They were very thorough and great to work with. I will definitely hire J & J Decorating again.

John and JD are very professional and reliable. John was responsive in the estimate stage and helpful with a couple difficult decisions we had in finding the right paint color. They were pleasant to have in our home and worked around other contractors well. We are very happy with the final result.

John and his son spent 2 weeks painting our entire two story, 2500 sq. ft. home, with two coats on the ceilings and walls and we could not of been happier. They have a tight schedule, but it's only because of the demand for their quality of work. Quality does not come easy, especially at an affordable price, so if you can wait, you will not be disappointed. Their honest opinion, flexibility and quality of work are what set the bar so high. We recommend and will be calling J and J if we ever need painting again in the future!

John and his son arrived as scheduled each day and were pleasant, courteous, and professional. Excellent work was done with attention to detail and clean up. Would never have known they were here except for how beautiful the bathroom walls now look! John was always up front with cost, and advice on both keeping the cost down and choosing colors, which for some of us can be over-whelming! The colors turned out exactly as I had envisioned, I am so pleased with the results. John always took my calls even on a Sunday or in the evening. If I left a voicemail, the call was returned. The price was reasonable for the amount and quality of work done. A very pleasant contracting experience and I cannot imagine anyone calling either of them lazy! Far from it. I would definitely have them come back again for other projects and am recommending them to everyone I know.

We recently had a new and somewhat expensive patio door install with interior wood trim. Having little to no experience staining anything, I didn't want to risk ruining our new door and dropped a call to John to put together an estimate. We also had some light drywall work that had to be done to remedy a shoddy job a previous contractor did a few months ago and were thrilled to know he could help us with that too. Net result, we received a fair and competitive price for the work that had to be done and the results are fantastic. His attention to detail, quality of work, competitive pricing and friendly demeanor all contributed to one of the best contractor experiences I've ever had.
