Great Lakes Roofing & Siding

Don't make the same mistake we did!! Our siding was done over 4 months ago but our home is still not up to code. The installers do not know how to install siding. We had to file a warranty claim with the manufacturer of the siding they installed and they determined our siding is defective due to installer error. We have siding that is bulging out and buckling in numerous areas. The owner never even bothered to come out to look at our house. WE have filed a complaint through BBB but don't waste your time as they are always on the contractors side that is paying to be an accredited business. They also decided not to install foam board that our insurance paid them to install! The owner Kim Edmonds didn't think it was a big deal his employees defecated in our yard or the fact they were observed drinking on the job. He told my husband it wasn't the first time he had heard of this. When asked about this by the building commissioner he outright lied and denied it. Expect a lot of lies and empty promises from this company. Our foundation is exposed leaving our home open to rodents and elements entering. The job was done quickly and sloppily. We had a punch list the owner promised he would address but rather sent his employees to fix what he thought was the only code violation then packed up and considered the job done. Kim did not follow the rules of our township which required him to have the village inspect the house wrap prior to installing the siding. We recently had to remove some siding to send a sample to the manufacturer for our warranty claim and while doing so we actually noticed missing TYVEK! Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time and risk your home being destroyed by this crooked company. He has wasted so much of our time and continues to lie about everything. He will not take ownership for any wrong doing! Our home is still not completed or up to code but expects payment! Bottom line: no professionalism, very poor quality, unskilled employee's and owner is a liar.

Our roof had hail damage from storm in April 2014. Insurance approved claim and we had no idea who we were going to go with. While driving down the road we saw Great Lakes truck so we decided to call them. We were immediately connected to a representative who took our information. We received a call back shortly after that for an appointment to look at the roof and talk about how the process works (we have never done this before). Kim came out and he went over everything with us in detail and answered our questions. He made the process simple and easy. We signed the contract and we received a call back within a couple weeks with the date that the roofers came out to replace the shingles. On the day the roofers came out there were 8-10 men and they arrived early in the morning. Within a few hours we had a new roof without any hassle. The men cleaned up their mess and were gone quickly. We had a great experience with this company and I would recommend them to my family and friends.

I noticed a contractor inspecting the nieghbors roof for damage and I asked if he could inspect my roof. He said he would be over shortly after he was done with that inspection. He inspect the roof and took pictures of hail damage and explained to me how it all worked out with Home Owners insurance. He explained step by step how it would happen ,if we used the insurance. We submitted the claim that day and he was following up with me every week on how the claim was going . I received a call back from insurance company setting up a time to review damage and contractor came out that day to review damage with us and contractor has sample of shingles for us to pick out. Two weeks later I finally received the first payment to start work. The contractor contacted me a day prior to starting the job,to inform me of the time the roofers would be coming in the following day.The roofer's came at 8:00 a.m. as discussed with contractor. The contractor provided the work permit and posted it on front door for inspectors and we discussed when he would be back to inspect the plywood to see if any needed to be replaced. He said his employees would be done tearing off old roof in 2.5 hours and he would be back by them. The roofer were done tearing off the old roof within 2.5 hours and the loaded all debris of old roof in the dumpers they provided.The contractor showed up shortly after that to inspect the plywood and it was all good the next thing I notices their was the supplies and new shingles being delivered and roofers start working on applying the ice melt ............... and contractor took pictures and roofer had the new roof on by 4:00 p.m. with all new air vents and they started cleaning up all debris around yard and use a gas blower to clean out the gutters, deck , side walks and drive way. The new roof on house and shed looks Great and the contractor was very professional and was alway on top of things like ordering supplies ,getting the City Permit and the best thing I liked was his communication and follow up, he had with us. I would strongly recommend this company.
