PLEASE NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!! If you want a company that is an actual shot show I guess call these guys. They install a new Ac unit for us that they have never been able to figure out how to work properly. Every time they send someone out they have to clue how to fix it. Our AC has not been out for over a week! They sent a guy out that had no clue came back the next day and said he now knows what the issue is and would get the part order. We called last week to check the status and we were told the part is on order. Today we get a call they never ordered the part! We have to pay for labor that is not guaranteed before they can order the part. W** seriously!! Do your self a favor and do business with anyone but this company. They are scam artist that will lie and provide the worst equipment and then are able to fix it so they can make more money off of you. I will be filling a complaint with the BBB!!!

They charged $674 dollars to replace an actuator on my HVAC unit. I came to find that the parts cost under $100 retail. The guy was in and out of the condo in 40 minutes. This all after a 90 dollar service call that was not credited toward the job. But fine, I got taken to the cleaners on that. This next part is a bit more twisted because they straight up lied... They quoted me $850 to provide and install a specific type of high voltage thermostat. It just didn't feel right so I did some research. Well my building confirmed the thermostat unit costs $190 total (same Honeywell unit that Althoff proposed). Althoff claimed "wiring needed to be run from the box" and labor would be 2.5 hours. The problem w that claim is that my building manager confirmed that no wiring is needed at all. Further, I later learned that my neighbor had one installed in 30 mins and was charged exactly $300 all in. Hope this helps their next potential victim.

They are excellent and we have never been disappointed with them. We would highly recommend them and we will continue to use them.

Excellent, excellent service so far. Scott P first came because one of our furnaces just stopped working in our house in the Village of Lakewood. Was very knowledgable and was able to have our furnace fixed same day. Because he really knew what he was doing and came off very trustworthy, we signed up for their Silver Maintenance Plan. Scott P came back to do the maintenance and once again provided excellent service. He spent time explaining everything and made logical and reasonable recommendations. Smart guy who put us at ease about something we know very little to nothing about. Had a bad experience with another company, so this was a welcome relief. Right from the start - including from the initial phone call to schedule someone to come out - have had a good experience. Highly recommend this company and especially technician Scott P.

They come out twice a year, one for furnace and once for A/C to clean and set up. They're coming out tomorrow actually. I'm happy with the price. They let me know when they're coming during the designated time period. Even if out of contract I still would use this provider.

What I like best is that they are responsive and it’s a big corporation, so I figure they have enough people to handle; if everyone’s furnace went out on the same cold day in December, I had the expectation that they have enough people working for them to be able to service all of us. They do a routine maintenance check every year. We buy a service contract with them so that they come every year to service our furnace and we bought our furnace from them too.

They are very popular in this part of the area. They are not cheap but they are good and they come right away. They are here on time. They are really good.

We've had good service from them. They do both electrical and plumbing. We have a maintenance agreement with them, they're out four times a year for that. I pay on an annual basis for four visits a year. It's somewhere in the neighborhood of $250. We would recommend them.

They're very efficient, very pleasant, very professional and no high pressure sales or anything. We're happy with them. For them to come out and do the estimate was free. I trust them very much and their estimate seemed in line with what I've heard. The quality of their work is fine. They call to see if it's alright if they come 10 minutes early. We would definitely use them again.

I have one of their service technicians do some maintenance for plumbing. We had a big deal. I think they're fairly priced. They're kind of a full service contractor. I can call them for heating, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical. They have been a long time contractor so they are very familiar with my system's implications.

They were here November of 2015. It cost $150.

I called at 4:15 pm on a hot Saturday, and the repairman was at my house in an hour. I did pay a bit extra since it was late on Saturday, but they told me that upfront. He wore shoe covers on his shoes. He seemed to care about his work.

My HVAC system was completely inoperable from what I thought was an electrical problem. I called Althoff on Monday morning and provided preliminary information about the problem, and they dispatched an electrician. I received a call from the dispatcher about 15 minutes before Dave, the electrician, arrived. Dave was extremely professional, and he was able to quickly determine that it was not an electrical problem. He also took the extra step to determine the root cause, and he confirmed a problem on the furnace's controller board. Since he was an electrician, he did not have the necessary part with him, but he did check with the HVAC technicians to confirm that they had the parts on their vans. He contacted the dispatcher and arranged for an HVAC technician to come out. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from the dispatcher letting me know that they could get a technician out earlier than promised. Jim, again very professional, was very thorough in his diagnosis. He wasn't simply interested in replacing the part and moving on. He wanted to make sure he understood what was causing the part to fail. He also took steps to make sure that if the same problem arose again, only a simple fuse would need to be replaced vs. a $200 part. Jim also took a good deal of time to make sure that everything was working properly before leaving. He wanted to minimize the chance of a return call. I was extremely impressed with the responsiveness, professionalism and quality of the work. While the repair was a bit expensive, some, the cost would have been $150-$200 less if I had provided the right information up front. I'm really confident in the work Althoff did, and I won't hesitate to use them again.

We have used Althoff Industries for over 12 years and have found them to be professional and reliable. The technicians have been easy to deal with and provided us with quality work product. The 2 man team who completed the removal of our old unit and installation were no exception. Not only did they start on time, they took the time to clean the basement area in which they worked, actually leaving the area in better shape than when they started. All venting, pipes and ductwork were correctly aligned and secured. The install team was able to answer all our questions and thoroughly covered the basic new functions of the thermostat and operational needs of the new furnace. We will continue to use Althoff for future needs and have an annual service contract with them. Any quick check on prices/install costs will reveal they are not the lowest cost providers, but we feel that getting things done right the first time has been a value to us.

Quoted price for part over twice the retail cost. Would not repair the work of previous installer from same company. Would not honor the manufacturer's warranty for the brand of humidifier they install. ***Note*** After complaining to management of the company, I was refunded the service call charge. This made a bad situation better, but they still never corrected the poor installation of the original unit they put in.

We had pipes break in a house that we rent during a really cold spell and they came out on a Saturday night. It took a little while because the job got fairly complicated, but they did an excellent job for a reasonable price; especially considering that they were working on one of the coldest days of the year. It was very cold that day and they were working under the house in a crawlspace. They were very professional and had great communication. I wasn't really happy with the bill, but to get somebody out to do that work in that weather was phenomenal. They were her about four different times and it was overtime for them.

Service call $80. 1 hour labor to assess problem $125. We had previous problems from a different company so we did not have althoff do the work but they gave an estimate and advise that was very useful.

Althoff does plumbing work for the association in our downtown Chicago building. They are well respected in the building and do a great job, so I gave them a call when we had a plumbing issue last month. Robert showed up on time, was very professional. He gave a detailed description of the problem and proceeded to fix it. He also had a solution to make routine maintenance easier and prevent recurring issues in the future. While working, Robert laid down a canvas tarp in the work area and neatly put everything back in the cabinet when he was done. I had follow-up contact from Blake to make sure I was happy with the service. I am extremely satisfied with the work Althoff did and will call them in the future.

They are always professional and explain what they find. They educate me and give me good information. They are always clean.

It went very well, they did a nice job. Right after I looked them up they called me up immediately that week and they were working for hours. They did a great job. They brought in their own equipment, they were very neat, they tied it up and they were talking about 20 years worth of more of ducting the vents probably and they didn't leave behind any mess and they were just really good and very professional.They did the job very appetite.

Called Althoff Industries Inc at 8:00 am on day of service for emergency situation. Appointment set at 10:00AM - 12:00PM. Electrician (Dave) arrived at 12:15PM (Not bad considering same day service). Brief Description of Work Performed: (Taken directly from invoice) Main 100amp breaker had heated up and charred the "A" phase lug not allowing power to pass through also melting the insulation back 6 - 7" Located new main breaker Replace supply wires from meter socket to electrical panel in basement Found Ground wire from socket to ground rod was only 10 gauge not large enough per code, replaced it with 8 gauge Installed new 100 amp breaker Re energized power Tested voltage and operation is normal SF - $80.00 Labor - $531.25 Delivery / Material $232.00 (Other Althoff Industries worker drove to Addison for part P/U and deliver part to Cary) Total: $843.25 Dave was very polite and customer service oriented. Explained everything that he was going to do and made sure I was aware of my options before he started the work. Did not want us to have much down time. Explained pricing and best / worst case scenarios. He also had to drill out and install some new screws on exterior that could not be removed otherwise. Glad he updated our ground to code. $843 is a chunk of change, but you get what you pay for and I believe I received my $'s worth. Thanks for the same day service, I will use again.

All went well. Service man arrived 30 minutes early, actually. He clearly explained the services to be performed and gave me a price before doing any work. Plumber also said he would try to get the repair done as efficiently as possible to try to save some cost. No problems with the work so far, area in basement was clean when he finished as well.

Initial estimate went well. But the sales person hided few facts without defining with clarity. Price initially was for 2 systems Furance and humidifier. Later he rescinded saying 2 furnaces and humidifier . So also other aspects like coverage. Overall, the sales team was not clear and responsive also. He was busy in April ( may be air conditioner). Sales experience was bit unpleasant, but he was a patient guy during communication. Installation experience - Technicians were excellent. But overran their time guidance by a day. I had to take a unpaid vacation one day for them to wrap the work. They missed few parts , it took many attempts to fix the cosmetic touch. Management responsiveness - Awesome . Customer care by the Owner Tod , Christine was superb. They promised all the issues. I will continue my services with them. The product so far is excellent. I ll have to wait this winter to see how the new babies allows us to sleep warm at night. OVer all good company , may be the lack of Sales transaction clarity and responsiveness left a bitter impression with me. I had done a lot of research , their price was ethical , most companies had abhorrent price model. The other company that came close that I would have done business was in my hometown itself. Naperville energy services Inc . both of them were really close in terms of performance and pricing .

Their customer service was pretty good. They're reasonably priced. I don't really have any problems with them.
