It went as expected, pleasantly.

Miserable mover from start of simple move to finish. Careless with keys scratching wood floor. Disagreeable and rude, in addition to fact that the $200 bill became $285. Not what they quoted on phone, Chuck Copher did the quote and also was the miserable mover. He is brother of owner. I should only have paid him what he quoted, but was stunned by the poor handling. I called owner, who said he was sorry, but offered no refund. Chuck should stay in warehouse, no public relations. Feel free to post this on internet.

Stellar. They arrived early. Loaded faster than expected. Provided wardrobes for clothing. Put furniture away quickly and exactly where I needed it. The crew is professional, efficient and compassionate on what is a stressful day.

It was a good experience. They were punctual, clean, they called the day ahead to confirm the time and again that morning with an updated eta, they wrapped up all the pieces and moved everything quickly, as well as set everything back up. A good experience all around. They were up front about their pricing, and while we didn't need them for the amount of time (a minimum)paid for, it was worth it just the same.

Ed had originally come to my home for a free quote. Unfortunately this is not our first move, so we knew what to expect and what questions to ask. The day of the move, everything went great. There were four Gentlemen and two trucks to move our things from one home to our new home, 2 miles away. The four Gentlemen were very nice and comfortable to be around. They came around 10am and left around 4pm. We moved from a 1000sq ft ranch, not including the basement, to a 3500 sq ft home with three floors not including the basement. They definitely had their work cut out for them moving at the new home. We purchased them lunch in the afternoon and they continued working. Matt, one of the Gentlemen that came to move our items, had us look over the invoice prior to moving anything, then explained it again prior to paying. Hopefully we won't be moving for another decade, but would definitely recommend this company! We can't say enough great things from start to finish. Thank you!

Honestly, if I could give 0 stars I would. I reached out to Copher Movers (an agent for Wheaton Van Lines) to get a quote on our move from Aruora, IL to Dallas, TX. I sent in a brief inventory of our belongings and was given an estimate and I was told that if I allowed the company to come do an in-person survey of our things, they would send a not-to-exceed estimate afterwards. I agreed, and Ed Copher came out to do the survey. He said I would have the quote either that evening or first thing the next morning. 3 days later, I still had not received anything so I contacted Copher again looking for my not-to-exceed estimate and they sent it over a few hours later. The estimate stated that we had roughly 2100 lbs of belongings and the price for loading, transportation, and unloading would be $3,630.00 (plus an additional $200 for insurance with a $0 deductible). I thought it was a little high but I saw the value in not having to load up, drive, and unload a truck myself so 6 days after receiving the quote I returned it signed. A few hours after receiving my signed agreement, Jaime Copher emailed me to let me know that there had been a “mistake” in their computer system and that we actually had roughly 4,400 lbs of belongings and the actual price would be $5,369.42. Woahhh, wait a minute! How did the weight of my belongings all of a sudden more than double and I am being charged $1,739.42 more than my original estimate that was supposed to be NOT TO EXCEED and that I had already agreed to?! I expressed my frustration to Jaime and said that I thought it would only be right for them to honor the original estimate seeing as I had already agreed to that price. They refused to honor the original price and said there was nothing they could or would do about it. I then reached out to Wheaton Van Lines to see if they would be willing to help since Copher Movers was one of their Agents. I spoke with Todd Emerick, a Director at Wheaton and he said that he understood my concerns and asked that I give him some time to make a few calls and see what happened. I agreed and was thankful that it finally sounded like someone would be willing to help. Todd called back a few hours later and said that he was agreeing with Copher and that they would not be honoring the price. What?!?! He said that he thought it was fair that Ed Copher had agreed to “eat” nearly $500 of the revised price (Nobody ever offered that to me) and said there was nothing he could do. These guys have horrible customer service and the fact that they refuse to honor a CONTRACT is absurd. I would strongly encourage you to look elsewhere for your moving needs. You’ll only find disappointment here.

I was been terribly disappointed with Copher Mover and Wheaton’s service, the lack of professionalism and communication. I went with the company even though their quote wasn't the cheapest one because I was hoping for a stress-free move, but this move was anything but. Imagine living with kids in an empty apartment for two winter weeks with no idea how much longer your stuff will take to arrive. When Ed gave me the estimate, he gave me a very optimistic scenario that my stuff will arrive towards the beginning of the delivery spread (around December 27 and that he would give me a more certain delivery date two days before the pickup (i.e. on December 19). He picked up my stuff on December 21-22 but didn’t give me any idea of when my stuff would arrive until Jan 4. The stuff arrived on Dec 11, the very last day of the delivery spread. This was especially inconvenient for me and my family with 2 kids who were without our belongings from Dec 22-Jan 11. Ed didn’t even respond to my phone calls or voicemails. I was expecting much better service for the price I paid.

The move was completed with precision an timeliness. Professional grade equipment was used to protect the more delicate items. Everything was moved without incident.

He helped my 80 year old father move from Tinley Park to Montgomery, IL. He was highly recommended by KAT Organizing and Moving Solutions of Homewood. (Also receiving 1 Star). My father had ONE valuable possession, a painting. Everything arrived BUT the painting and a ladder. Ed of Copher brought over another ladder stating that they get left behind all of the time. After much arguing and emailing back and forth, Ed of Copher has washed his hands of us and refuses to reimburse my father. I warned him that with this refusal, I would shout it from the rooftops that he harmed an octogenarian! This is the first of many ugly reviews. Don't use them or trust them with your valuables. They don't stand behind their work. My father talks everyday about how much he misses that painting. If they have a bunch of ladders that never get delivered, how many expensive paintings do they have? �

We moved on 3/13/1017 our crew of 3 men were excellent. They arrived early and handled our furniture with care. They were friendly and courteous. They took extra care in wrapping our furniture and protecting it. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone who asks.

The team was very fast and treated our belongings extremely well. It was bitterly cold on move out day of 12-15-16 and they still were in great spirits and packed up our whole townhouse in the estimated time of 4 hours. All our items were stored on the truck for 2 nights for an extra storage fee. They unpacked the truck at the new house, and again, very efficient and great service. Nothing was damaged and our final price was almost exactly what was quoted. Prices were really reasonable and Ed sent another guy along because it was so cold at no additional charge. Couldn't be happier, highly recommend.

The move went very well. Extra care was taken with fragile items and the nove was done in an efficient manner.

Great. The guys arrived and finished early. As a result they reduced the quoted fee of $950 - $1050 down to $650.

They were excellent!

They were inline with everybody else, they were competitive. We ended up using other kind of service. We packed everything ourselves and have somebody load to the truck instead of having a company do all that for us.

They never returned my call requesting an estimate for moving from Illinois to Florida. They also did not respond to a followup email that I sent.

The movers were on time , did everything asked of them, and worked hard in the 90 degree humidity. They actually seemed to be enjoying themselves which lessened my stress level through the moving process. They even had some great ideas as to where to place furniture in the new location. Without a doubt well worth the money to hire movers!!!!!

The owner set up my move for me, promised he would be out the next day to estimate what sized truck I would need and then he never showed. The day of my move the crew was late, showed up with a truck too small and moved at a turtles pace. When all was said and done the move cost me more than I was quoted and when I called Ed to find out why he swore at me and hung up on me. Overall I would never recommend them as a moving company or use them again if they were the only company available.

I had called four moving companies to get estimates. I wanted to stay away from moving brokers as I had heard horror stories. Most of the companies were located on the north side. I had heard of Copher Movers a lot over the years. Ed Copher came out and gave me a very knowledgeable estimate. I could tell that this man knew a lot about moving. I scheduled the move about a month in advance. Four very nice gentlemen showed up and did our move. I could not have been happier. One small mishap. As they were finishing a noticed quite a large scratch on a new piece of furniture. When I pointed it out to the crew leader he started telling me how I could run a marker over it and it would be fine. I insisted he note the bill with it and get it fixed! However all turned out well. Mr Copher not only paid for the repair but brought the finished piece to my home.
