Description of Work: tore down old garage & built new one. |signed contract in early September but wasn't finished until early December. at contract signing we were told that the old garage wouldn't be torn down until new one was built (different location in yard) but we ended up with one week's notice that that would not happen so we had a week to empty the old garage into a rented storage unit so that cement could be poured & building the new garage could continue. still, it was mid November before the building was completed. then we waited for electricity & inspections to be done. final inspection was early December. |we were constantly waiting to hear from Better Built on when they would start, when the cement would be poured, when the carpentry would start, etc etc. very frustrating, seems like we were either waiting on or calling them.

Description of Work: Contacted them for a quote to build a garage. Their representative showed up on time. They were responsive and seemed to have good general knowledge. Unfortunately it has been two weeks and they have still not sent a quote or contacted me in anyway.

 + -1 morePositive aspects of the job: 1) Sales representative bid the job according to code. 2) Competitive price. Negative aspects of the job: 1) One month time elapsed between concrete slab pouring and the start of framing. During this time there was no communication originating from Better Built Garages; rather, all inquires pertaining to construction scheduling and timetables were initiated by me. 2) The electrical subcontractor was rude, confrontational and left a mess. 4) No one from the company showed up for the final structural inspection by the city. 3) Construction was not completed to my satisfaction. In other words, there were a number of items on the ?punch list? that had to be finished. I left phone messages indicating that there were unfinished items and these calls were not returned. It took over two weeks from the time that the company thought the job was finished and the time they returned to rush through the list of items and not complete them in a quality way. 4) The overall quality of work was mediocre. 5) Final clean up was not complete.
Description of Work: Better Built Garages was contracted to build a new garage, including a new concrete slab. The contract included demolition and remove of old structure, preparing and pouring new slab, and building new wood structure. Better Built Garages was to build according to city code, obtain all relevant permits, and arrange for city inspections of work completed.

The carpenters, Mark & Steve, were knowledgable, listened to my needs, answered questions, and built the porch/deck with great precision. Sam Barakat, my salesman, was fantastic. Better Built also built my garage in 2006 and I cannot recommend them highly enough. I wish every company was like Better Built.
