Very poor customer service provided by the ASAP Sales Representative. When the ASAP Sales Representative met with my wife following the storm damage, he stated that while the damage only occured on one slope of the roof, after inspection of the entire roof he was confident that the insurance company would pay to replace the entire roof. The insurance company only agreed to replace the damaged slope. I believe this information ("I can get the insurance company to replace the entire roof") was used to get the ASAP Contracting and Roofing Contract signed by my wife. The Sales Representative did not meet what he had indicated would be the outcome of allowing ASAP to complete the work. ASAP Sale Representative did not respond to emails or phone calls timely. ASAP Sales Representative did not provide a firm date for the repairs until early October. Several requests for a repair date were made verbally (phone calls or messages) and in emails. Storm damage occured in mid-July. Repairs were not completed until mid-October. ASAP Sales Representative was late to several meetings that he set up. ASAP Sales Representative made minor adjustments to the work estimate that he and the Insurance Adjuster had already agreed was adequate for the roof repairs. This tactic resulted in delays in completing the job as the work estimate continued to be resumbitted to the Insurance Adjuster. When I followed up with the Adjuster, he stated that the charges were very minor and that the requested scope of work had already been agreed to with the ASAP Sales Representative when the estimate was originally created. When this information was provided back to the ASAP Sales Representative, he accused the Insurance Adjuster's wife of having violated IL state laws in the past. I surmise this accusation was supposed to smear the reputation of the Insurance Adjuster. In total, the ASAP Sales Representative revised the estimate to pad the estimate with a few hundred dollars, while delaying the work on my roof. The day of the actual work, Sales Representative stated that crew would be at the job site at 1:00 pm. I contacted the Sales Representative at 1:30 pm and asked if the job had been cancelled or postponed again. Sales representative stated that crew would be at job site at 2:00 pm. Crew finally arrived at the job site at 2:30 pm. When the crew started their work, they did not have a ladder long enough to access my roof. I had to lend them my 32' fiberglass ladder to access the roof. The Sales Representative and Job Foreman both stated that the truck/trailer would not leave tire ruts in my lawn. Once the trailer was backed into place, tire ruts had been made. Sales Representative stated that he would get a roller and fix the lawn. Lawn repairs have not been completed to date (now one week after the job was completed.)
Description of Work: Replaced shingles on one slope of roof.

Seemed to be fine and first, but the next season I had a leak in the roof. It took two phone calls to get them to come out and look at the roof and repair leak. This year, I have yet another leak and I have once again had to repeatedly call them to get an appointment. I don't feel like I should have to call multiple times just to get someone out. When it was a large job and the whole roof needed replacing, they were very responsive. For little jobs though, I feel like I'm a bill collector chasing down a payment in default.

The contractor was to install a 50 Year Owens Corning Ice Water vapor shield roof, that had to be installed by a Platinum Preferred Contractor, and have an additional warranty. This Contractor did Not install the roof we paid for, he did not send in the warranty we paid for, and the roof was not installed by a qualified Platinum contractor, this contractor used a sub-contractor, and they were all illegal Aliens could hardly speak any English, and installed an inferior roof, and not the roof we paid for, the contractor ASAP was contacted the same day,and was told of the problems, and did nothing, and in fact demanded more money, we filed a Complaint with The BBB the contractor responded 8 weeks later, making claim we had a warranty that would correct the problem, this was another lie, the contractor ASAP Contracting Roofing did Not send in the warranty papers. ASAP Contracting Roofing LLC has lied to us so much, they sold us , what was suppose to be a high quality roof, and gave us a very bad roof job. Also the subcontractor caused damage to our house siding, destroyed our landscaping, and caused damage to our gutters, and windowsill's. I would encourage anyone looking to have a roof and or guttering not to use this Company, they deceived us, by making claims there Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractors, and showing us how the roof would be installed, with the ice water vapor, and that its all Guaranteed through Owens Corning, with the additional Warranty. Owens Corning inspected the roof, and indicated the roof was installed improperly, and that there was no additional Warranty sent in by ASAP Contractors Roofers.

We did in fact install a limited lifetime warrantied roof. That is pretty much the standard now. The shingle manufacturers have gotten away from 20,25,30,etc...year roofs. All the manufacturers sell a limited lifetime warranty roof now. We offered the [member name removed]'s a "Platinum Warranty" from owens corning. They did agree to the warranty. We would have been glad to provide the warranty had the [member name removed]'s actually paid their bill! We did not have any "illegal aliens" doing a roof for the [member name removed]'s. If we had know how racist the [member name removed]'s were we never would have contracted to do work for them. Our crew leader was born and raised in the United States, but because he was hispanic he was an "illegal alien" to the [member name removed]'s. We went to the property to try and resolve any installation issues the [member name removed]'s supposedly had. When we got there they told us we couldn't go on the roof and if we didn't leave they were going to call the Sheriff and Immigration. We said that would be fine, but obviously at that point there isn't much that can be resolved. We installed ice and water barrier in the valley's just as it is depicted in our presentation of how the work is going to be done. We are above board with all information. We explain the entire process from beginning to end. We have tried to resolve issues with the [member name removed]'s. We have contacted Owens Corning and our supplier and asked that they inspect for problems and help us but the [member name removed]'s don't want anyone to come out. It can't get resolved when they don't want to resolve it.

Everything was great. Communication was excellent during the process. My rep was there to check on the job and walked around with me when the job was done to make sure I was happy. They actually did a small repair that I didn't even notice because my rep didn't like it.

After signing the contract for the new roof the workmen came within a few days and put on the new roof. After they left we had it inspected and found that the workmen had been smoking while on the roof and there were numerous cigarette butts under the shingles and the shingles were haphazardly put on. Later that day we got a call from Gutter Helmet who was scheduled to replace our gutters stating they couldn't do so because the roofers had nailed the shingles down to the gutters. We called ASAP several times trying to get them out there to fix it so our gutters could be replaced but they never returned the calls so we called someone else and paid them $500 to take the nails out of the gutters. ASAP showed up afterwards and we told them they owed us the $500 which we have never seen. We also told them we weren't happy with the roof and why. They inspected it and said they would return when the weather was warmer to replace the shingles over the back porch. To this day no one has come or returned any of our calls.
Description of Work: They came out and checked the roof for damage. My husband signed the paperwork stating they could do so. However, in the fine print it said if we needed a new roof and had one put on by someone else we would have to pay them $1500. The salesman was very unresponsive to phone calls. It took several to finally get him to return a call.

We went out and checked Mr. [member name removed] complaint and found no issues with the actual installation. We do have a cancellation clause and if Mr. [member name removed] had cancelled his contract after the 3-day cancellation period it would have cost him $1500.00 per our contract for him to cancel. Our contract is designed to help us as well as our customers. It isn't fair for us to spend hours helping a customer, meeting their insurance company and making numerous phone calls to their insurance company to try and resolve issues only to have them cancel because Chuck in truck can do a layover for 2/3 of what were were going to replace their entire roof system for. We are professional, fair and try to take care of our customers. We did put some nails in the gutter covers because they were wrinkling up under the shingles and causing their new roof to look bad. We tried to schedule to go out when the gutter cover company was scheduled to do their replacement but were never contacted back. The only contact we had was a request after the fact for $500.00. We requested the invoice and never received any information. The shingles take time to heat up and lay down flat. This was the issue over the back porch. It corrected itself over time. We completed over 900 projects in 2011 and had 3 complaints. We will try to do better in the future.

USAA insurance and myself does not recommend using them without all details worked out up front but as many problems that came up that appeared to be impossible. They do not do doors at all, they told us yes to seal the deal but never performed it because they would have to subcontract it out and it's not cost effective for them. (BEWARE) We never did recover the additional cost from our insurance and ASAP claim they charge correctly.
Description of Work: tear off and replace roof. Remove box vents and replace with ridge vents. Replace 3 tab shingle with architectural shingle. Was supposed to include ex. doors and storm door replacement. Doors never took place because they delayed so long and overcharged from the room that they could not milk enough from the insurance so we had cut our losses. Really shady pricing factors that did not make since but this could never be worked out due to lost records and lack of response.

[Member name removed] was a customer in June of 2012. In April of 2012 we had one of the worst hail storms ever recorded in Saint Louis. We were initially overwhelmed, however we did try to complete [Removed member name]'s work. We took our supplier, Manager and rep all out to [Removed member name]'s house to try and take care of him. The fact is that his insurance company did not allow enough money for the work and he didn't want to help us convince them that they were underpaying for his repairs. We completed work for over 1000 customers in 2012 with 2 complaints. We will try to do better.

I received a phone solicitation call from ASAP Roofing on 6/21/2012 offering a free inspection and estimate for storm damage. I accepted and set the appointment for 6/23/2012. The estimator, Henry Ross, showed up as scheduled and explained what ASAP Roofing could do and that they worked with the insurance company to make sure that all the damage was accounted for. Henry did not give me an actual estimate for the work to be done. I told him we would be getting other estimates and let him know. Henry made a followup call on 7/5/2012 to ask if we had made a decision about who would do the work. Henry was pleasant and courteous both in person and on the phone. After other bids were received, we selected another company to do the work and I called Henry's number on 7/17/2012 and left a message that we had selected someone else.

I was referred to ASAP by a neighbor. They came out and helped me with my repairs from a wind storm we had. They were great. My insurance company didn't originally cover half of my damage. ASAP got them to pay for all of my damage and it took them a few weeks, after I had been struggling for months. If anyone has an insurance company they are having a hard time getting to pay them I would definitely call these guys. My work was scheduled in a timely fashion and professionally handled and installed. Great communication and they showed up when they said they would. Thanks ASAP.
