My technician Keith was great. Friendly and super informative. Also too a quick look at the entire drainage system and gave my an idea of where problems will pop up the future without preventative measures (my home was built in the 50s and while the previous owners took really good care of the house nothing has been gutted and replaced yet).

I scheduled for Tiger Plumbing to come out to give me an estimate on a newly installed AC complete unit with coils and line and was told by the Tiger Technician after he surveyed the area where the units would be installed, that he can’t give me any figures or estimate until I made a commitment that day for Tiger to do the install. In my 51 years of life I’ve never scheduled for an estimate just to be told that they won’t release numbers on an estimate to me until I commit to their company to do the work! I contacted their office and was told that the technician manager would talk with the technician and he would send over the estimates but that has yet to happen. Thanks Tiger for solving the long problem I’ve had questioning if your company is reliable and is about customer service first and not all about the money! This event ensures that I won’t have any reason to contact your company for any services in the future! This company and a few others were looking to install the worst and least efficient (13 SEER) unit for the max dollars ($7,300). Thank you Academy Air for treating me right and not look at me as a dollar sign! Too expensive, bad customer service and down right scammers!

Requested a quote from Tiger for insultation of a new water heater, the guy tried to sell me a program for maintaining my HVAC and water heater, I scheduled for a quote for the water heater and the technician was to come at noon, never showed, called and they told me between noon and 4PM, no one showed up and received a call he was running behind and it was 415PM, I spent all afternoon waiting. Cancelled the appointment out of frustration, highly unprofessional and disrespectful of my time!! Don't waist your time with these people!!

They charged me $99 to have a salesman come out and look at an outdoor faucet and give me an estimate. I would think any plumber could show up to a house and replace an outdoor faucet. Then they looked at the outdoor faucet and told me they would send someone over to replace the faucet and the charge would be $500+. I told them no thanks, I'll get someone else. Sparlin Plumbing did the job for $200. Today they called me for a follow up and told me based on the pictures I see it looks like the job was completed without a hitch. I had to tell the manager they didn't do any work at all. Their service is a total scam. They prey on people who are weak or in an emergency situation and don't have a choice. There is a reason they can send someone over immediately. The person that shows up is not a plumber. How could you afford to send a person that isn't a plumber to each call if you weren't charging ridiculous prices.

[Member Name Removed], thank you for your feedback. Feedback like yours is priceless in helping our company, and technicians, improve upon our customer experience. Although our prices may seem high to you, they represent the utmost quality and professional service you won't receive from many other companies. I’m glad you were able to fix the issue. We take special pride that when you hire us for your plumbing work, our entire company works hard to make sure your experience with us is hassle-free and enjoyable. Ill keep this as short as i can, which isn't short given the multitude of screw ups on Tigers part. Overall the turn time was good and setting the appointment was easy, however the experience left ALOT to be desired. The initial person who took my call did not properly record the issue as described resulting in the first tech being unprepared to resolve the issue and a subsequent visit from an advisor. The advisor drew up several service offerings and made a few recommendations for upgrades and enhancements to our existing system, including pointing out a possible safety issue. As part of that she made mention that they would have to remove a small portion of dry wall in the upstairs laundry closet to complete the flexible duct work which we agreed to. She scheduled the appointment for the work to be completed monday (it could have been done friday had the first call taker properly recorded the issue). The technician that showed up on monday was friendly enough however was unprepared to complete the work. Instead of a small hole in my laundry closet the duct work resulted in a hole in my kitchen ceiling spanning half the width of the kitchen, way more intrusive than what the advisor had set us up for. The technician also asked for my assistance multiple times, including to help pull duct work, which if im paying for a service, why do i have to help perform the service? The technician was also unprepared to clean up after himself as he needed to borrow my shop vac, paper towels, and cleaning spray. I guess his shop vac had been damaged on a previous job (again why am i paying you?). The technician also failed to perform all of the work that was paid for days in advance, more specifically they did not cap off the open flue from an old furnace which is a service that had been prepaid with the advisor. When asked about this the technician said he did not have the part, but if he came across one would "drop it off". After realizing this tiger was called requesting a refund for the unperformed work, at which point we were told "it could take up to a week for the supervisor to contact you to process that". Really? Your supervisors are too busy to ensure customer satisfaction in a timely manner, but you sure can come take someones money in less than 48 hours no problem.... I would not recommend them to anyone and definitely will not be using them again for anything. Attached is a picture of the small hole i was told would be left in my laundry closet. Please not that by laundry closet it ended up being kitchen ceiling, and by small hole, it was halfway across the kitchen.

Wonderful -- we couldn't be happier. Seriously.
Description of Work: First of all Tiger unclogged our tub. Then a crew came 2 days later replaced galvanized pipe with copper pipe all over our home and shutoff levers, installed a new hot water heater, repaired master bath toilet flooring and pipes, installed new spigot on master bath tub and replaced guest bath sink spigot and drain fixture and replaced outdoor spigot. I hope I didn't leave anything out.

The technician came within the time frame that was given me. He was able to get the water cut off to the house. I informed him that I needed to have the pipe cut above the hole and capped off. He informed me that he needed to check to make sure there were no gas leaks in the basement before he could begin the work. I agreed. He used his detector machine and found that there was a leak at the gas valve connection to the hot water tank. He stated that he needed to shut the gas off to the house. So this means, my water and my gas were off at the house. He informed me that he was going to go work up the estimate and he would back in to review it with me. When he returned he quoted me $450+ for the valve and $450+ for repairing the pipe. Told him the valve was more important and wanted to know if it could be repaired today. He went outside and call and then returned told me that they could come and repair it on Monday between 5pm-7pm but I needed to pay for the repair up front. I informed him that I had not heard of that before and I have never had to pay up front for a service. He became upset and rude when I told him that I was not comfortable paying for a service up front. He told me that I could either do that or call Ehret, Inc,. I told him that I could call them and would prefer to do something different. He said well that is on you, you have no water and no gas. I would not recommend that anyone use them. The only bright spot was the guy who answered the phone and dispatched the tech. The tech was horrible.

I recently had my AC stop blowing on a 90 degree day. The coil inside the unit was frozen solid and would not allow air to pass through. I called Tiger, who quickly got someone out the same day. My service tech was Kyle A. and his manager Ryan W. was along with him. After about 30 minutes they reported that my Freon was low and decided to test for leaks. They came back and said that they could not find a leak, which is a major concern. They were quick to bash the initial installer and call out his work as bad. They said either he had not put enough Freon in the system initially; which would cause issues for years to come, or that we had a leak they couldn’t find with their tool. If it were a leak it would be expensive based on that they can’t find it easy and there would have to be something internally wrong. They then went out to check again and write me up some options. They then began a distasteful sales tactic. They presented me with two options. 1 - flush and refill the system to see if it holds. this was $1200. if it doesn’t hold then they would need to repair a leak which could be $1000 additional. They then quickly began to sell me on a new HVAC unit. My house is 3 1/2 years old and my AC is under warranty for another 1 1/2. They said that because the freon was low i’d have many problems and ultimately have to replace in the near future. I had also told them i’m considering selling the house in a few years; which in turn they said no homebuyer would want an HVAC like I have and they’d ask for discounts. They began the sales pitch of they are running a buyback program that would get me additional discounts and that there are lots of rebates available. They then pushed to have a consultant come out to see how much it would be to replace the system. Having given me such large numbers for repair, it’s only logical to explore total system cost. I agreed to a consultant and let them know that i wanted the original installer to look, as this was his install. They agreed and reminded me that he’d simply just add freon and bandaid my system. I’d always have problems. I called Viviano heating and cooling for a second opinion. The owner even called me at 5:30 that night to try to trouble shoot over the phone. The tech came at 10:00 a.m. the next day and quickly found a leak in the exterior coil causing the issue. It took him all of 15 minutes, where Kyle and Ryan spent 30 on the same coil and “couldn’t find anything”. The coil was covered under warranty, so i will have to pay for labor, but much cheaper than the $10,000 system that Kyle and Ryan were pushing me to. The sales practices are terrible by Tiger. DO NOT TRUST THEM. Always get a second opinion. They are clearly trained to sell you new systems. They price repairs extremely high so that you will consider purchasing new for a few thousand more. It’s a terrible practice and sad that a tech and manager are scheming people. It makes you wonder if they are on commission or get a kick back when they sell a new unit.

The guy that came out did not seem too interested in seeing the problem with my toilet, and immediately wanted to get in my crawl space. After looking in my crawl space he told me my gas lines were going bad, and he recommended them being replaced, along with all the pipes in my main bathroom, which he said were causing the problem. He went outside and made some quotes, then came back in to show me them. The first quote was for 7.5k to fix my gas lines and all my pipes, including the pipes in the second bathroom that did not need replaced and are new. The second quote was for 5k to fix my gas lines and the pipes in the main bathroom. The third quote was for 3.5k to fix all the pipes in my main bathroom. This all seemed ridiculous to me, and I wanted a second opinion. I asked the man if he could email me the quotes, and he said he could not. So I proceeded to write down everything he said to me. He kept pressuring me to commit to one of these options. I told him I didn’t want to make a decision without talking to my brother. He told me I should call my brother now to ask him what he thought. I told him my brother was at work and that I couldn’t. I felt very uncomfortable at this point, and just wanted the man out of my house. He asked if he could come by the next day to talk to me about it, and see if I wanted to commit to something. This made me even more uncomfortable, and I don’t like to tell strangers when I’ll be home, or when I won’t be home. I told him I didn’t know if I’d be home or not. When he finally left because I was not committing to using Tiger right then and there, he said okay I’ll see you at 4:30 tomorrow, even though I had told him twice I didn’t know if I’d be home or not. I called the next morning to make sure the guy wasn’t coming to my house, and the lady on the phone said I was on his schedule, but that she’d take me off. I asked if she could email me quotes, and oddly enough she said no problem. I had Ponce and Nenniger Plumbing come out to look at the problem. They said my gas lines looked fine, and that they believed there was either a bad clog somewhere along the pipe line, or a tree root had gotten into the pipe. It ended up being just a bad clog, and my toilet was fixed for a fair price, instead of multiple thousands of dollars.
Description of Work: I highly recommend NOT using Tiger Plumbing. They tried to take advantage of me being a young single woman, and I did not fall for it. I do not trust the company at all. My toilet was not flushing properly, so I called Tiger to come check it out. It would flush properly the first time I flushed it, but then wouldn’t if I flushed if it a second time, the bowl would just fill up and drain very slowly.

Original estimate for pipe repair was below $1,000 and estimate was for replacing section of pipe on interior of basement. The employee who provided the initial estimate left and provided a time for when the man performing the repair would be there to perform the repair. The estimator was within the time range given for his arrival but the 1st employee there to perform the repair was several hours late. The employee began chipping out concrete from the basement wall and then stopped and said the original estimator and the estimator's supervisor would return for a new estimate. The original estimator returned and the estimate bloomed to $3,500 and would require excavation from the exterior (outside of the house) and replacing the entire pipe through the basement wall. I'm well aware you can find unknowns when it comes to repairs but this wasn't a complicated repair and the original estimator should have not been this out of the ballpark. The $3,400 estimate included a spot repair (replacing a section of pipe) with a 2 year warranty. The $3,400 also includes the cost to replace the anode rod. For additional $1,000, $4,400 total, they offered to replace the entire line from the meter to leak in the basement wall. The distance from my water meter to basement wall is 20 ft and the water line is 3-4 feet deep. An extra $1,000 for 20 feet of additional line when the equipment is already there seems high. Due to the high cost of the estimate and the fact there original estimate was so far off, I told them I wanted to get some additional estimates. They said they would be back tomorrow to start the repair. I didn't have time to get quotes as it was now evening time (most other local plumbers were closed) and a few hours later, 2 other employees showed up with a bobcat and were wanting to start the repair. They replaced the line through my basement wall. They left ruts in my yard. After they had finished the repair I asked them when they were going to come back and seed the grass they disturbed from the excavation. They acted shocked I was asking them if they would come back and fix the yard. They came around and said they would come back after the soil has settled and fix the yard. The soil has not been settled for several week and I have my doubts they will be back to repair the ruts or the excavated area. The concrete patch around the new pipe penetrating the concrete wall is not flush with the existing concrete wall on the interior. I didn't get a chance to inspect the exterior. It had been backfilled before I got the chance. I can only hope they did a better job and properly supported the pipe and used hydraulic cement like the estimator and supervisor told me they would. All 3 times someone showed up throughout the day, no one called ahead to let me know they were on there way. This is contrary to them telling me each time they would call first. When I first called the employee on the phone asked for my email because she said they prefer to send invoices, estimates and other paperwork through email. I asked the estimator and those who performed the repair to email me the invoice with detailed items of work. They each said it would be emailed to me. I never recieved any emails from them except newsletters. I emailed them and requested it a few weeks back for my records. I still haven't not gotten it. Cost seems high considering actual repair time only took approximeatley 2 hours and 45 minutes. This is actual time working, doesn't include the time the 1st worker spent sitting in the truck waiting on the estimator and supervisor to return for the 2nd estimate. Replacing the anode rod took approximately 15 minutes and is not included in the above 2 hours and 45 minute. Material costs should have been minimal which means either there equiptment, labor, or overhead costs are extremely high. However, hard to break any of this down when you aren't provided an invoice. They did finish the repair the same day. It wasn't exspected but the extra effort by there employees to get it done was appreciated. Photos: 2 of the photos are of the rutting in the yard. Not significant but deep enough that mower blade hits the ground while mowing. The third photo shows the settled trench. The fourth photo shows the repair on interior where the pipe enters the basement wall.
Description of Work: Repair leak in water line where water main enters basement wall. Also, replaced anode rod in water heater.

By February 2012, less than a year after installation, I begin to have problems. So I called Mt Everest, and they come and fix things here and there, and I don't think much of it because other than the inconvenience of occasionally being too hot, it's not costing me too much money. =) Here are some of the receipts I could find... Mt. Everest - 2/16/12 - $194.12 Mt. Everest - 2/17/12 - $0.00 Mt. Everest - 2/18/12 - $0.00 --new company name-- Tiger - 1/22/13 - $210.00 (Became Club Member) Tiger - 8/16/13 - $0.00 Tiger - 5/16/14 - $0.00 (Waived/Warranty) Fast forward to October 2015, a little over four years after installation, I have a coolant leak somewhere that can't seem to get fixed, and Tiger has to keep recharging my "closed" system... the only difference is now I have to start paying for this service. (I guess Freon is expensive.) I start to panic because my family is undergoing financial hardships, and whatever money I once had went toward the air conditioner I purchased four years earlier. Thankfully, Tiger works with me on this, and I am grateful. However, they warn me that I will need to have the evaporator coils (???) changed out. EEEK! At this point, I am already $10,000 (plus) into this system, it is only four years old, and it is having major problems. Again, I have no money left, so I'm talking to lawyers, because from what I can understand from Tiger, it's a manufacturing defect, and now I have to pay Tiger tons of money (that I don't have) to fix something that shouldn't even be broken yet. (Warrenty still covered parts, but not labor.) Thankfully, Tiger comes through for me and I refrain from possibly taking legal action against manufacturers. On October 23rd, 2015, the coil gets swapped out. The technician thinks there might still be a leak somewhere, but nothing really comes of it. The parts are covered under warranty, Tiger is kind enough to waive the fee for labor. * * * * * The above gives Tiger five stars. I seriously had no money to pay them. I would have had to get a loan from somewhere. ...but... It is now July 18th, 2016, not even a year has passed since the installation of a new coil, and it is 74* in my house... I have the thermostat set at 70*. The temp coming out of the vents is around 68* - according to my meat thermostat. I have called Tiger, and we have an appointment for tomorrow. I fear that Tiger is going to tell me that I will need a recharged -- or new coils -- and I will have to pay them for service with money I still don't have. I'm praying everything still falls under a warranty. Pray for me, you all. I'll come update after my appointment and let you all know how it went. <3
Description of Work: Back in June 2011, I was having a problem with my air conditioning. I called Mt. Everest Air Conditioning Service (who would later become Tiger Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Services) to come out, and they explained that my air conditioner was way too small for my house. So they replaced the whole air conditioning system. It cost me $9,125.00. We paid cash. Everything is great afterward. The new system came with a warranty: 10 years on parts, 1 year on labor, Lifetime on heat exchanger, and 10 years on compressor. I also purchased the $329.00 Premier Membership Program, so add that to the $9,125.00 price. So, total *$9,454.00*.

I called out Tiger because I was having water pressure issues. When the technician got there he did a little walking around and decided it was my main water line. I asked him if it could have been the water softener because it was holding water. He said he didn't know much about them so preceded to tell me it was the main line. He gave me an estimate for about $8000. I told him I needed to talk to my wife first before I make this decision but he kept pressuring me to have it done. Even trying to get me to finance through them. I declined and decided to get a second opinion. The other plumber told me the motor on my water softener was out and needed to be replaced. Once I purchased the softener and had the other plumber put it in, my total cost was about $400 dollars. Don't use Tiger because they are out to replace whatever is going to make them the most money.
Description of Work: Fixed a small water leak and replaced a small gas line.

My problem was when they came to give me an estimate, they over exaggerated the repair cost for this minor issue. They charged 3 times more than the other 2 plumbers that I received quotes from. While they were in the crawlspace, they told me that there was a major cast iron drain that needed to be replaced and it would need to go through my foundation. I had 2 other plumbers give me estimates and they both said there was NOTHING wrong with the cast iron drain. Tiger gave me a quote of almost $3,000 to fix the cast iron drain. Had I done everything that Tiger told me I needed, it would have cost me over $3,600. In the end, with another company, it only cost me $300 and they told me I didn't need any of the other repairs listed on Tiger's estimate. It's unfortunate because Tiger used to be a really great company and I used to use them all the time. My recommendation is to get more estimates before using this company.

Hi [Member Name Removed]! Thank you for your feedback. We do learn from all our customers, so feedback like yours is priceless in helping us improve. We feel that there is no greater pleasure than ensuring our customers receive the best options for their money when we visit their homes. We present choices to our customers that we believe would best suit their needs, and we are truly sorry that you feel that your needs were not met by our company. We have found that when we encounter older drain lines, such as yours, which our technician determined were leaking into your crawlspace (that he actually went in to), it is cheaper in the long run to go ahead and replace the drains instead of doing a smaller amount of work to just get by for a little while longer. Although another company may have solved your immediate issue, we were more concerned about the long-term effects of water damage in your crawlspace. This was why the quote we gave you was different than the other company. It is important when getting second opinions that one is comparing apples to apples, in terms of materials, scope of work, warranty, and workmanship. [Member Name Removed], we’ve serviced your home many times, 48 to be exact, throughout the past decade. You were satisfied with our work, our technicians, and our professionalism in each of those previous visits, except for this most recent visit. You acknowledged this when we spoke over the phone about your concern. We take special pride that when you hire us for your plumbing, heating & air conditioning, or electrical work, our entire company works hard to make sure your experience with us is hassle-free and enjoyable. I strive to make sure our customers are completely satisfied, & I'm sorry that we didn’t meet these standards for you this time. Please give us another chance the next time you have any plumbing, heating, air conditioning, or electrical issues, and I'm sure we’ll exceed your expectations! Sincerely, Todd Kiefer General Manager

The second company came out to give me a second opinion. The technician did a little research and within 15 minutes, my air conditioner was working. The problem was a bent pin in my thermostat. The blower and relay were fine. He bent the pin back and that was it...cool air. This second company earned my trust and is going to get my business. I found it odd that Tiger was unable to fix the unit but was quick to try to get me to purchase a much higher priced system. By the way, the second company's highest quote was less than $9K. Always get a second opinion! Be careful using this company.
Description of Work: I called Tiger to look at my air conditioner. I had turned on the system to make sure it worked and nothing came on. Tiger sent a technician and informed me that I had a bad relay and blower after doing some testing. The cost to fix both would have been a total of $1500. Granted my system is about 40 years old and we knew this day was coming. The technician gave me the sales pitch and agreed that it was time for a replacement. I made an appointment the next day to get an estimate on a new system. The quotes were high. The basic model was $10K and the most expensive was $19K. This was more than I wanted to pay so I informed the salesman (comfort advisor) that I was going to get a few more quotes before proceeding. After I got the quotes I sent the advisor some specific questions about the quotes and he never responded. This was my first clue.

We present choices to our customers that we believe would best suit their needs, and we are truly sorry that you feel that your needs were not met by our company. We have found that when we encounter an older piece of machinery, such as an air conditioner, which has not been properly maintained throughout the years, it is cheaper in the long run to go ahead and replace the unit instead of doing a smaller amount of work to just get by for a little while longer. You had expressed interest in a new system, and so we gave you the options for purchasing one. You had expressed to our comfort advisor that you wanted ductwork cleaning and improvements in addition to just the furnace and air conditioning equipment, which is why the quotes we gave you were different than the other company. It is important when getting second opinions that one is comparing apples to apples, in terms of equipment, efficiency, warranty, availability, and workmanship. We were having technical difficulties with our email server the week that you sent your inquiries over. We received them, and tried to reach out to you several times, via email and phone, concerning them. To date, we have not heard back from you regarding your issues. We take special pride that when you hire us for your cooling work, our entire company works hard to make sure your experience with us is hassle-free and enjoyable. We strive to make sure our customers are completely satisfied, & we’re sorry that we didn’t meet these standards for you this time. We’d like you make this right by you, and have attempted to contact you multiple times.
