 + 2 moreHe won the bid by being three time lower than Handyman of Metroeast. His original bid was $1770. But when the room was drywalled and insulated, then he taped and mudded it for $500. Then finished the room, trimmed out four windows and three doors and baseboards and he did a super job and painted it for $1240. Then this week he installed Allure flooring for $633 with cost of floor too. All my costs were for supplies also. The final cost still beat Handyman of Metroeast by $1600. And that was just for the original bid. John did a great job, even came back several times to touch up. We will definetly hire him again.
Description of Work: I asked for bids to paint a bedroom, ceiling, and walls. Remove a wooden entry door and storm door, rebuild the threshold. And insulate and drywall a 12x12 room off the the family room that was unfinished for 7 years. The original bid was for $1770 but then we wanted the room finished. And we are estatic with the results.

 + 1 moreJohn showed up for the initial consultation/estimate meeting right away. It took a little while to get him booked to come back, he was busy with other jobs at the time and I needed several days of work completed. Once he was here he would show up promptly every morning at 8, work all day and then come back the next day. We worked closely together but he needed very little supervision as he understood what I needed done and executed it great. We only had one 'slight' misunderstanding on a project, but was partyly my fault as I was not home that day to check the progress of the work. His carpentry skills were excellent, he understood how I wanted my built-ins to look and they turned out FANTASTIC! John has great work ethic and you will not regret having him in your home!
Description of Work: I had several things that I contracted John to do. I needed carpentry work done to build built-in bookcases in a library area. He installed countertops for me in 2 different areas of our basement. He also finished up a "honey-do" list a mile long for me.

Description of Work: John is a wonderful person. He is always very prompt and asks questions before he does anything. He painted kitchen dining room, hallway, living room, interior doors and door jams. He used three coats of primer on the door jams before painting. He repaired water damaged ceiling. He also repaired leaks in both bathrooms and installed a grab bar in bathroom. He is an excellent worker. I live in St. Louis, MO and he does quite a bit of work all over the area.
