Description of Work: I purchased a "deal" for 4 hours of Handyman Services through Angies List. I spoke to Abe on the phone and asked if he could do some painting and he assured me that his services include painting. Abe arrived on time, however his workmanship is mediocre. He got paint on my hardwood floors and cleaned his brushes in my kitchen sink ( which he did not bother to rinse out). I needed to hire a painted to come and repaint the streaky mess. Will not hire again

+ 1 moreAbe contacted us immediately and provided an estimate the next day. We had absolutely great service. Abe is polite, dependable, pleasant and very professional. We were completly satisfied with the timeliness, quality and price of his service. We will definetly use him again.
Description of Work: Installed a kitchen faucet and replaced bathroom fixtures, including toilets. In addition, he layed down ceramic floor tile and trimmed out both bathrooms. We provided the tile and the grout.

He gave an estimate for another job while there - Yes, we were so pleased with his work that we inquired about another handyman job that we needed to have done before he left.
Description of Work: Replaced bathroom ceiling light with heated fan/light. Required running new wiring and installing new circuit breaker, as well as running vent up through outside of attic. The price shown is for his services, and does not include the purchase of some electrical items, which were paid in addition.

Description of Work: Provided hot and cold plumbing run approximately 50 feet in basement to future bathroom. He provided a shutoff valve for both hot and cold plumbing runs in the bathroom. Provided a detailed quote. He was punctual and completed the project in the time he stated he would.

+ -1 moreAbe is very polite and very accommodating. He was very busy, but squeezed me in because he felt a leak should be fixed as soon as possible. Prior to this job, he saved me money when he came to my house to look at humming pipes and gave me a recommendation as to how I might fix the problem myself. He didn't even charge for the visit. I have a few other things needing attention around the house and I will definitely call Honest Abe in future.
Description of Work: I had a leak in the valley where my garage roof meets the house roof due to poorly installed flashing. Abe used an unconventional approach, but it was cost effective and appears to have done the trick. At first I was a little concerned about the possible appearance of exposed metal and even though I later indicated it wasn't a concern, he spray painted the small amount of exposed metal so it wouldn't show against the shingles (even though you couldn't really see it anyway).

+ -1 moreThe man is very polite and very thorough. I chose not to use his services based on the slow response time from him. If he wasn't willing to provide an estimate with a deadline he had given me I was not confident he could meet any of my deadlines.
Description of Work: We had arranged for a meeting to review the work and the morning of the meeting he canceled. I am currently living out of the state and made arrangements to stay an length of time to meet with him. Later another meeting was set up and he was shown numerous items I needed done. He took notes, was very polite and stated he would have an estimate by the end of that week. After several weeks of not hearing from him I sent an email stating I must have deleted his estimate and to please resend it. After about a week he responded stating this was his first email (so I had not deleted anything from him) but he had been out of town and was just now getting to me. I had in the meantime contacted another service. Both estimates were close. To date, I've spent about $12,000. getting various items fixed or replaced by another handyman.

Description of Work: We used them for general plumbing. We had a leak in one of our bathrooms and he fixed that, along with some other things. He ended up switching out faucet handles that were leaking, popped a shower, and replaced an outside water spigot.

+ 1 moreI had three or four people come and bid and I decided to use someone else because my friend knew them personally. I was impressed with Abe and I would consider having him do things. In fact, a friend of mine wanted to have some work done and I gave them his name. He told me that they usually give Angie?s List members 5-10% off. I thought he was an honest guy and I think he would have done a good job.
Description of Work: Honest Abe’s Handyman Service gave me a bid on several things. There was some plastering that needed to be done, some stairs needed to be repaired, and the rear-entry door needed repaired.

Once the contractor came to my home he verified the problem and told me how long it would take and the approximate cost. It turned out to be not as bad as it could have been and while fixing the first problem corrected the second(meaning he didn't have to tear open my wall).
Description of Work: Leaky toilet repaired,air let out of pipe which was causing noise.
