Service provider accessed our recently-deceased parents' house without our permission prior to property closing and during preparation for an estate sale. This is a shocking violation of the law and generally recognized norms of decency. The technician could not have done a proper job with the radon mitigation given that the basement had not been cleaned out to allow for proper caulking of crack and seams in the concrete. If you are looking for a hack job, you have come to the right place. If you are looking for a professional service provider, keep shopping.

Response from Suburban Mitigation Specialist
Suburban Mitigation apologizes for any confusion regarding the situation that took place at [Member Information Removed] The allegations against us are however, false. These statements are misleading and borderline libel. We were contacted by the Home inspector and provided information of the homeowner along with Realtor info. We contacted the listed homeowner and we were hired by her. Suburban Mitigation received payment In full via credit card over the phone and scheduled an install date. We then were advised to contact the realtor for access to the home. At no point were we advised that an estate sale set up would be taking place. We arrived at the property at 9am, and were let in by the real estate agent. At this time we started to work. It wasn't until 1pm that we were contacted by a very upset Realtor stating we were not supposed to be at the property! This became very confusing, so we immediately explained who had contracted us and that we had been paid in full. What we figured out was the lady that hired us, whom stated she was the owner, was actually the buyer and had not yet taken ownership of the property. Suburban Mitigation followed all proper install guidelines for this home, and Mitigation was completed. As for accessing a property illegally, doing a hack job, or acting in a non decent manor, those allegations are false. We stand by the integrity of our company. We would never force our way into a home or perform work we were not contracted to do. We were hired, let in to the property, paid in full, and proceeded to do work we were contracted to do. These statements against us were made by an irate and verbally abusive individual. We again apologize for any inconvenience or misunderstanding. Leo Perez

He showed up to the appointment time a half hour late with no call, I had to call the office twice (on every occasion of contact) before anyone responded. The woman at the office was very nice. The man that showed up was initially polite. I was told the job would take 6 hours. He installed the required device and set out to seal the crawl space. In order to enter the crawl space he removed the flue to the furnace as it was hung rather low. Almost 9 hours later he was finished with the job. As i was expecting the job to be finished 3 hours prior i did not have time to inspect the work. The following day I was going through the house with an electrician and he asked to see the crawl space, he then noticed that the flue had not been put back. THANK GOD it was the end of August as I had people in working on the house and had I or they turned on the heat it could have killed them. I called the company back to say he had forgotten to reconnect the flue and they informed me that he had remembered THAT MORNING (and never felt the need to inform me) He was out on a different call and would not be able to be back out to my house until about 9pm. As I was not available at that time frame I had another person reconnect this flue. The man I had reconnect it pointed out to me that there were quarter size holes in the plastic that he had used to seal the crawl space. THE DAY AFTER THE WORK HAD BEEN DONE. So heres where the actual problem with this company starts. I call them back the next day to inform them of the holes in the plastic and the man on the phone completely goes off the wall. Starts screaming at me that I "just want to complain" and he's would just put tape over it anyway and that if there weren't holes he would change me for an hours work (mind you I've already payed 1300 for the work) He told me he would have come back to reconnect the flute but it was my fault i could not make myself available at the time he was. HE TOLD ME I SHOULD HAVE LEFT MY HOUSE UNLOCKED so he could come and go as he pleases and when I told him I did not feel comfortable leaving the doors open he retorted with "Im not going to steal your toilets! I don't know if thats happened to you before" After 20 minutes of this man SCREAMING at me I asked to speak to a manager. Low and behold the man that I was speaking with was also the man that did the work at my home and is also the manager and the owner as well. Long story short I would NEVER recommend this company. EVER. Completely unprofessional. Poor work. Just all around AWFUL!
Description of Work: The Owner/Manager came to my property to "seal" my crawl space. In doing so he also removed the flue to my furnace and forgot to replace it
