"We worked with Adolfo and his team now on multiple projects. He was professional and great to work with. We have a pool in our backyard where our pool equipment had to be visible and not hidden on the side of the house. We wanted to put a wall of some sort to hide the equipment. We had several contractors look and none of them could figure out how to do that since you couldnâ t go deep like you would with a normal fence because of the pool equipment line were. We had lost hope that there was any solution. We told Adolfo and he took it as a challenge and figured out a solution that worked great. "We chose Prairie Homes & Renovations because the contractor, John Novotny, listened to us rather than telling us what we ought to have done. He paid attention to our budgetary needs and helped us understand what we'd be able to afford (and what we couldn't). We are so pleased with the final product, which includes the kitchen and a laundry space. Our former kitchen had adjoined a laundry room, and both were gutted to create the new kitchen. The laundry area was moved to our large main bedroom closet (2nd floor). John hires out for plumbing, electric, drywalling, and flooring; he does all of the rest of the work himself. He has expert skill and showed great care in every aspect of the demo/reno. The biggest challenge in our project was our limited space; the finished kitchen is only 9'x17'. A load-bearing wall needed to be re-engineered. John did everything possible to incorporate our architect's and designer's suggestions that we wanted. Our budget only allowed for stock cabinets; John was able to do some modifications in a few of them that allowed for some custom-like sizes and features. The cabinets are well-built and look absolutely beautiful. John had significant experience with old homes (ours is 100 years old); he was able to preempt some age-related issues and easily dealt with anything else that came up. He was very conscientious about daily clean-up and dust; he put up a protective tent at the kitchen opening, and we had virtually no construction dust in the house. He was very pleasant and professional in all of our interactions. We are planning to do a bathroom remodel and we won't hesitate to use Prairie Homes & Renovations again."
