.Rich came out and to measure and give estimate and discuss options I could choose, such as quality of materials and debris removal, then generated the estimate and gave estimated timeline when work might begin. I found price and timeline acceptable. Crew arrived about 3 weeks later as per estimate since this is the prime period when everyone wants this type of improvement/ repair done. Removed all old fence hardware and debris when new posts were installed. Total time about one full 12 hour day. Crew worked neatly to minimize any disruption to garden and flower bed. After allowing a few days for posts to set, representative measured all gate openings and gave estimate when they would install everything. Crew arrived the morning of the 5th of July and completed all installation. Fence now looks very nice, all posts are plumb and I nave received compliments on its total appearance. Very satisfied with results and will recommend them to others!

The fence is installed well, but the there were many mistakes along the way. Both the front and back gate were scheduled to be installed backwards. It took over a week for the front gate to be corrected. The front gate was supposed to be white, but they ordered black and didnt have the door size we requested. The dirt from the fence holes was laid out in the middle of my backyard after we specifically asked for it to be placed in the far back of the yard.

The entire process went very well. Alex came out to give us an estimate. He was very polite, helpful and responsive. The company called us to let us know when the crew would be there to set the posts. They were there when they said they would be, and could not have been nicer. They had the old fence out of the ground and on their truck before you could say "Bob's your uncle". It took about an hour to set the posts. A few days later they returned and completed the fence. We only had to be home on the day the posts were set in. The contact at the company office was very responsive with questions regarding obtaining a permit and keeping us informed as to when the crew would be at our home. The fence looks great. We are very happy with them and would use them again for future jobs.

The service worked out good. They were courteous. The quality of the work was good.

OMG, do NOT use these people if you don't understand what it takes to get a fence put in. You will be doing all the leg work yourself. Forget them getting permits for you. They say they will, but good luck on that. You will need a Plat Of Survey. (Anyone know what that is? I am a Realtor and thank goodness I knew it). Then you will need to go get a permit. But wait, make sure YOU have a drawing of your work. They won't do that either. Next, pay half of it up front. Then wait and wait and wait and wait.....oops, they forgot to tell you that they need the plat, the permit and all the documentation that goes with it. There goes four weeks with No communication. Their excuse is that they are busy! So don't take the job if you can't handle the workload. Then, after you take off work to run around and get all the stuff, you wait and wait and wait....oops they only schedule once a week and they are out a month or so. Yup, that's eight weeks with your money and no progress.

He was prompt and efficiant, gave me different options for my fence. Everything was done timely and effectivly. They did a great job.

They did an excellent job and were finished in one day. My neighbor liked the new fence so much, she had Rich replace her fence later that summer. Great work.

Punctual appointments and worked when we were told. Quote is reasonable for work performed. Quality is OUTSTANDING and built to last.

I was very pleased with Economy Fence. I already have a chain link fence, but the gate was missing. I called a large box retailer and they quoted me $850; basically, they didn't want to do that small of a job. I came to Angie's List and called up numerous fencing professionals and none of them were very responsive either to doing just a gate. Economy fence not only returned my call, they sent someone right away to give me an estimate of $275 (way more reasonable). It was up in a week and they did a nice job. At some point, I will replace the entire fence and I'll be sure to call Economy Fence first to get an estimate.

Richard came out as scheduled, on-time, to give us an estimate. He quickly reviewed and emailed back the estimate as promised the following day. Crew showed up on=time and did an excellent job and were very professional: replaced two posts, top rail, and replaced damaged fencing. Seems like a younger company trying to establish themselves and we would certainly use them again.

They were great- very responsive. Their bid was competitive and they got the work done in a timely fashion.

Rich made the price right and scrambled to get us done as we had a time factor. His crew were polite and punctual and answered all my questions during the install. Fence looks great and we are happy.

A lot of companies don't repair fences and they checked the rest of my fence out to make sure everything was hunky-dory with it. I would use them again.

Economy fence was great. The initial consult was no pressure. Rich was very informative and professional. The price was on the low end of average and the quality of the work was A+ I had quite a few companies out to give quotes and some of the salesmen were downright pushy. The install was done in a timely fashion and the crew were very considerate of our home. I definitely recommend using Economy Fence.

They were punctual, polite and worked fast. They assembled the fence onsite, and it looks great -- we have received many compliments from our neighors. When asked to make a few minor changes, they did so promptly. This is a professional, family-run company that takes pride in their product and service.

It went great! Last year we had Rich Hayden come out on an Angie's List coupon for a repair on the old fence, which was very inexpensive and went GREAT! This was before we decided just to go ahead and do the whole thing this year. I always collect about 3 bids on the job in question and Economy Fence provided the best overall value to meet our needs. We will have them back again soon to re-do a section of fence on our driveway in our front yard soon!

Job went well, fairly priced, was responsive when there was a little problem. Richard was easy to ge tin touch with by his cell phone. Estimate was quick and on the spot.

We were very pleased from start to finish. The fence is beautiful and the entire process went smoothly. The owner of the company came to our house for the estimate, and we found him to be very helpful and knowledgeable. Communication was great. They called us a couple of times while we were getting other estimates to ask if we had made a decision, and after we decided to go with them, they kept in contact when we had some delay in getting the permit from the city. The workers were very nice and took the time to ask questions and clarify where we wanted the posts placed. They dug the holes for the posts on a Wednesday, made arrangements with the city for the required inspection of the post holes, then came back to pour the concrete and set the posts. They got most of the fence finished on Friday and came back Saturday morning to finish it and clean up. We couldn't be happier and are enjoying the summer in our lovely fenced-in yard.

It went so-so. They're out of Chicago, way on the south side and I'm on the north side. It's very difficult to find a time to set up a meeting where they could come out and take a look at the place just because it was such a long trip for them. So that was kind of a hassle, kind of difficult. I had just moved into the house and the fence was kind of weather-beaten but the main issue really was that (inaudible) weren't working very well so that the fence was aligned with the locks. So you could either kind of work the handle and open the fence that way or you could lock but you couldn't have it locked and have the handle work. There were those two things that I asked them to come out to look at and try to deal with that problem. Instead, one thing she said she couldn't deal with it all and the other he was able to kind of make a fix that was a kind of a patch. It didn't actually solve the problem, just sort of patched it. It was fine. I don't think I'd do a big deal again, to be honest. One, because of the issues (inaudible). Two, it seems like it's sort of a secondary thing for them. The guy was nice enough and responsive enough but just didn't really go above and beyond by any stretch.

He got back to me very quickly. My gate wasn't opening and closing properly, so he inspected both gates and he did a repair, reinstalled the latch so that it opened and closed properly again. There was some spots that were left in that building, but it really wasn't that big of a deal to me at the time.

Excellent service and workmanship. One of my fence posts had rotted out and when big winds hit Chicago in April 2013, the one weak post caused two other posts to weaken. There is a large tree on our property that had grown against the fence and pushed parts of the fence off its footing. Economy cut out the back of the fence and installed new fencing around the tree in such a way as to make repairs as the tree grows easy. Should the tree ever need to be removed, the fence could easily be closed up. Economy Fencing came back twice. Both times they did an excellent job. I highly recommend them.

Was one day late in coming out to start the job. Stated a truck broke down. Overall workmanship was very good. The only complaint I had was the workers did not clean the sidewalk and driveway when finished. They left muddy footprints on the sidewalk and driveway. I had shown them where the hose and water outlet was located. They used the hose and water outlet to mix cement for the post but did not use it to clean the sidewalk and driveway.

Rich was punctual, friendly, and was the only fence guy who took the time to EXPLAIN his estimate, not just give us one. Rich wasn't the cheapest estimate but he was right in line with the going rate. (I am wary of low bidders. They tend to use lower-quality materials, shortcuts, etc.) He not only installed the fence but gave us tips for upkeep. His workers are hard-working and talented. They got the job done quickly and I can finally sit outside and enjoy the yard without everyone walking by knowing my business. I will definitely call them again if I need more fencing in the future.
