Worst Movers Ever! STAY AWAY! Most of my furniture was broken during the move. They arrived 3.5 hours late. The movers were extremely rude and looked for ways to waste time. They often complained about their jobs as movers. I found myself doing a lot of furniture moving because they were so slow. They used high pressure sales tactics to force you to buy extra boxes and pay them more. They damaged lots furniture and walls, and their hands and truck we're very dirty. Their insurance forms were fake. They called my building manager a F**ing B when she asked them to wear masks and then they refused to wear masks that she gave them. Some of the movers randomly yelled loud strange phrases while working because they thought it was funny, but it just frightened the neighbors. They tried to take detours while driving to the new townhouse, so I had to continuously stop them on the road and keep them on track. They never finished. I had to go back and move things they didn't move. When they left, they hung out in the alley and were smoking weed (which upset my neighbors). When I called the management, they never called back after several attempts. Please stay away from these horrible people. BAD HORRIBLE AWFUL SCARY VERY NASTY!

I really should have looked into the negative reviews prior to hiring this company. I contacted this company for a move after shopping around I found that the were both available on my date and a good price so I went ahead and booked it putting a 50 dollar deposit down. I was sent an estimate of 550 which would include 3 men for 3 hours including the travel time to my destination. Both on the estimate and on the conformation call I was told I would be able to use a credit card. The movers were scheduled to come between 1-3. I received a call shortly after 3 from the movers saying they would not be there for another hour due to the pervious move going long. A bit annoying but not a huge deal. Once the finally arrived around 4:10 the men came up to my unit. Immediately upon coming up they said that it would be an extra 130 dollar charge for the stairs in the lobby. I am on the 3rd floor my unit number is literally 3 and I have had other services come to deliver furniture that had a 3 floor only policy without issue. Since the were there already I just agreed. The main guy walked around looked at my stuff and said he was going to give me a new estimate. After a few minutes he said that the new amount would be 968, nearly double the original amount. I was shocked. I wanted to cancel but was informed I would be charged for 2 hours. At the same time he also said it would need to be cash only. This all felt like a scam. He said because he needed to wrap some items and make some boxes for the tvs, also he increased the time needed to 4 1/2 hours stating that because of the big move they just did they were really tired. I was pretty upset by the price being so much more and the payment needing to be cash only so I let my partner handle the movers while I called the company. The woman on the phone kept going back and forth between me and the main man on the job site. Between discussing the price with the man onsite and the woman on the phone this had all taken about an hour. During this time the guys were not working and I was still being charged. While I was on the phone the main man kept telling my partner that the could do it for cash and that he could drive him to a bank to get the cash out. Finally the woman on the phone and I agreed that the men would move the items that I wanted for the next hour and thirty minutes so I could keep the original estimate price. After I finished the call the men came back up with the few items that they had taken down in the beginning. They threw them down right inside my door and said they weren't going to do the job. I have never had an experience like this. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM, they will double there price once the arrive and demand cash. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I have no idea how they have so many positive reviews. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau so hopefully no one else has to go through this.

Overall great they got the job done albeit not the fastest crew, they accomplished what I needed, however took a very long time when I left the house early to go meet them at the other house, they mysteriously took three hours longer then needed, and left things like the refrigerator back at the old place as well as a 500 pair of Prada shoes in the closet.

Great! I wasn't there, but my son said the two men from Wolley were the strongest he had ever seen. (!) They were on time, the price and the woman on the phone were both very reasonable and I didn't have to worry about this for a minute. Would definitely use them again.

They were good at moving.... they were nice people and took care of the things moved. The major problem is the lack of traspaerncy and direct openess in pricing. They asked if i wanted them to wrap the table and things before they moved them. this was to insure it did not get scratched and damage to everything involved would be minimized. When it was all done i was glad it was wrapped as it protected my house as much as the furniture. The real shocker was when i went to finalize the bill. Getting charged the extra hour was a known cost. Then he said I OWE $150 for saran wrap. $150 FOR $10 in PLASTIC!!!!! I paid $75 for an hour of labor and $150 for wrap. I have used many movers before as i moved twice in just a month and this was never the case. I am good with the fact that i pay for the time to get it done, but when we discuss i dont need any boxes they should mention they charge 10X the cost on wrap or that its not included. I would of purchased it if i knew. I feel like to got over charged just because i got a deal on angieslist.

Moving is stressful in the best of times, so I am thankful that I had Wolley team help me take most of that stress away - at a hefty price tag (more later). I had a huge three-bedroom (1800 sq ft) condo to move to a smaller (1200 sq ft) two-bedroom condo. From the get-go, it was easy to get in touch with Wolley, and I always spoke to the same courteous and helpful person (Elizabeth), who made everything a snap. I got a full explanation of the service and the costs, and the movers showed up on time. They then proceeded to take care of absolutely everything - from breaking down beds and tables to shrink-wrapping everything to moving it into their van - I did not have to touch a thing. The movers were clean, courteous and felt free to ask how to handle anything out of the ordinary. The process did take a full four hours, which was surprising to me and added about $200 to my bottom-line, but thinking back to three huge rooms full of boxes and furniture, it makes sense now. Also, the movers were very zealous about shrink-wrapping virtually everything but the boxes I had made myself, which added time and material cost - but on the upside, all my stuff arrived at my new place a few weeks later looking new and without a scratch. What complicated this move - and added on cost through no fault of Wolley's - was that I had received a call 8 hours prior to the movers showing up, informing me that I could not move into my new place for another two weeks. Thankfully, having anticipated this, I had spoken to Elizabeth about storing my things at their warehouse for as long as necessary for me to figure out what to do. Since I got the news confirming that I had to store my things instead of just moving them that very morning, I was anxious that the movers wouldn't know what to do, but a quick phone call to Elizabeth took care of everything. The movers were immediately informed of the new situation and switched gears effortlessly from a move to a storage. This meant that several more hours would be added for my stuff to be unloaded at the Wolley warehouse and then retrieved from there the same way on the way out, plus I had to pay storage which I think was much too high - but I had no choice. Two weeks after the move-turning-into-storage-situation ordeal, I closed on my new place and Wolley brought all my stuff to the new place after retrieving it from the warehouse. They were an hour and a half late however, apparently due to an internal miscommunication on Wolley's part, but once they arrived, they were just as quick and professional and careful as during the move-out. Bottom line - with the exception of the hour and a half tardiness on the move-in, and the somewhat high cost of storage and perhaps overzealous shrink-wrapping (time and materials cost) - this was a process that made a very stressful situation somewhat bearable. Call Wolley and work with Elizabeth - just keep control of time and costs.
Description of Work: I hired Wolley to help me move out of my then-current residence, to store my furniture and personal effects for two weeks at their warehouse, and to move into my now-current residence.

Movers arrived on time and did a decent job of moving everything. I had a television that they wrapped and I paid additional to have wrapped. The TV had no prior damage before the move or before being wrapped by the movers. Once the TV was taken to my new place, they unwrapped the TV and I noticed 4 cracks (one on each corner of the television) as if the TV was dropped in the truck while it was standing. The lover saw it, confirmed the damage and even told me yea I can charge you less for the wrapping but also if anything happens to the TV where it doesn't work, call the office and they will take care of it. Now the TV is having picture issues which it has never had before and when I called Wolley and they said that they gave me a discount already (one which was not an exchange for my TV being broken) and that the damage they saw on the TV would have been worse if it was damaged the way that it was. They are taking no responsibility in the matter and are not taking responsibility for their actions. Do NOT use this company. Find another provider as they are dishonest and irresponsible. UPDATE: 10/28/2015 Wolley had called me after denying me payment on the TV that they broke and we had agreed on a $200 payment in check form. I wrote them an email on approximately 10/23 letting them know that I had not yet received a check. Their response was: "Yes we had agreed on sending a check out to you, but due to the fact that you gave us a bad review on Angie's List we can no longer do much for you." I have the email, in writing as proof. The fact that they don't want to pay me what is legally OWED to me, due to damage that was caused by THEIR negligence, because of a review is insane. I already have my lawyer drafting a letter to them. $200 will be the least of their expenses when the dust settles.

hThe office staff was very easy to work with to schedule the move. They were able to accommodate my specific move time due to the time slot I was provided for the freight elevator. The movers were on time and professional and they worked quickly. The one negative aspect of the move was the price for the packing material was very expensive in my opinion. I was charged $100 for wrapping material, and I didn't even have that much furniture to wrap. If it weren't for the unexpected very high price of packing material that was provided to me right before the move was complete, I would have given this place an A. Be careful about making sure you get a quote before they wrap your furniture.

This message is to inform you about the poor quality of service on 12-12-14 your drivers arrived @ 10:30 AM which was fine. Prior to their arrival I had intented to go the bank. I informed Hosa about that and the three started work. Hosa was responsible for damage to like new Armstrong hardwood floors and stove he dragged through the living room and out the door where it was place on the dolly. Although it wasn't deeply scratched it is damaged and lightly scraped. I'm unsure if buffing can repair it. Eric, Pete, Hosa took one hour just to remove an Armoire from the bedroom. Eric damaged the right side corner of this expensive furniture forcing it against my steal door jamb. They finally figured out how to remove and continued work loading the truck. I really thought they were inexperienced but when Hosa stated that it was done intentional just in case I didn't pay that did it! Eric threw a plastic Coca Cola bottle in my front yard as they were leaving. After arriving at the destination _________ division he said that they were going to back the truck up to the front of the condo lobby. I didn't say anything to the staff because my valuable possessions were in their hand. I felt as if I was at their mercy and not as a customer paying for service. They struggled bringing up the furniture one floor needless to say that Eric dropped the aluminum handles to my refrigerator the cement floor and scraped the walls of the doing. I noticed that Eric was deliberately losing his balance and falling against the the railing hoping that it give way so that they could sue the HOA The side of wolf range was dented damaged by Hosa. Hosa then went over the invoice with me and tried to charge and additional $85 for the truck use of overtime the total was $523. I told him that I had to go to Chase to cash a check .Since he informed me that the total of my bill was under $500 and required cash! I advised him to wait in the the truck the bank is nearby 5 minutes away. Hosa refused to leave my condo stating that it was his insurance that I would pay him. I've never felt so humiliated in my life. I said that I can't leave you in my house unattended with my valuables so he finally left and waited in the truck. During the time frame that it took me to go the bank. Eric excessively phoned my house every few minutes after he realized that he was calling the house and not the cell. He finally called the cell and reached me in the bank as I waited in line he was verbally abusive screaming that I don't have money. I told him that I hadn't been waited on yet and should return shortly. I was driving back to the condo with the cash and I looked in the rear view mirror to see Wolley's truck barreling down behind me. Hosa was driving as if he was mad man. I gave him the cash they took off and Eric threw a 7UP can in the parking lot unaware that it was all under surveillance. They can't read or something else was the problem there is a surveillance sign posted on the premises. I'm new to Angie's list do believe those rating do homework before hiring. I call the office to advise of the above and sent this info heard back they will be reported to BBB and Movers Association.

Jose and crew arrived one hour early which was a just great. They were very courteous and conscientiousness. Jose explained in detail all the different points of my contract before I signed anything. Then the move began. The took great care of all my furniture and wrapped everything for transport. I was amazed at how they were able to carry everything out and down three flights of stairs. They made it seem effortless. When we arrived at my new apartment I was once again amazed that the guys were able to use two very small elevators to bring all my stuff up to my new apartment. This entire experience was extremely painless. I hate moving and was very anxious prior to the move. I can not thank Jose and his crew enough. I have recommended Wolley' s Movers to everyone I know. Great Job.

Wolley Movers sent 3 men, who arrived on time, worked very hard, and moved all our furniture and boxes with great care. Nothing arrived damaged or broken! I've used Wolley's 2 times now and my friends have used them as well and had a great experience. The first time was 4 years ago. I didn't have a car and they let me ride in the truck with them holding my plant and purse on the way to the new apartment. Saved me a cab ride. They were super quick and it went smoothly. I think I made $300 that time; I had less stuff then. The last time, the movers showed up on time, they were quick, cushioned our stuff nicely, and we also had some weird special circumstances. First, they had to pick up stuff from 2 locations because my boyfriend and I were moving in together. So that was extra time. Also, the previous tenants of our new place were people we knew and they weren't moving out until the next day. So we had to fit all of our worldly possessions into the guest room. Wolley's did an awesome job of arranging the room with all our crap and nothing was broken. Also, the crew had a sense of humor and was just nice to be around. We're moving again in a month (this time for good, buying!) and we are using Wolley's again.

The move went fabulous. We would highly recommend Wolley Movers. First off, they came when they said they would and were extremely careful with our possessions. They wrapped everything super securely, especially because we were putting our stuff in storage until we found our house. They took a bit longer than expected to pack everything up in Chicago, but that is to be expected as we had a lot of stuff. They then drove to Cleveland and I met them at the storage unit the next morning. Again, the unpacking went just as smoothly as the packing. I'd highly recommend Wolley.

The moving agent, Emily, was quite helpful and very nice. We selected the mover on the basis of reviews and price. We also didn't want to repeat problems we encountered on the last move with another firm. The last time we moved, when the movers arrived, they told us they would need a large tip at the end of the move because their company didn't give them much--and even mentioned the amount they needed. I don't mind giving a tip, but resented being told that this would be an expectation. It was also not made clear to us that additional money would be required for materials like tape and plastic wrap. Also, they were subcontractors, so what the agaent had said to us previously didn't carry much weight with the movers themselves. Emily assured me that any tip I gave would be up to me, and since they are a family firm, all the movers worked for them, the most recent mover having been with the firm for two years. She was very clear about moving costs, and additional materials, throwing in one free roll of furniture wrap. She also said we could provide our own tape, which we utimately didn't do, but probably should have. The only flaw with the move was that the movers were supposed to show up between 8:00-8:30 AM, but didn't arrive until 9:00 AM. But this was not a big deal, since we had the apartment elevator for three hours, and they packed up and loaded the apartment in under two hours. When they came to my house, I was pleased to see how quickly and professionally they worked. Nothing was broken and everything was hadled in a clear and friendly way. I was also glad that the firm accepts credit cards--even allowing a spot to put tips on.
Description of Work: My son and his wife were moving from an apartment in Elmhurst to a rental house in Lisle, but they also had items they had left at my house in Sugar Grove when they had lived with us previously, so the movers had to go From Elmuhurst to Lisle, unload, and then pick up the items in Sugar Grove, go back to Lisle and unload again.

The entire experience started off ok, but went downhill by the end of the move. The movers were scheduled to arrive between 8-9am, which they did, and they got to work pretty quickly; during the conversation with the customer service rep. I was told that wardrobe boxes(4-5) would be included as well as the movers would reassemble any furniture that needed to be taken apart. Neither of these things were done. The movers came with 1 wardrobe box and no explanation of why that was. Next, as communicated to the customer service rep, I needed to stop at a storage place that was on the way to the new apartment, which was fine - that part went well, but when we arrived at the new apartment, the movers took their time unloading the furniture and only one item was reassembled (an oak entertainment hutch). When they finally completed, I proceeded to pay the bill with my debit/credit card, which I was told by the customer rep, was fine, but the movers refused to accept my card. They told me that I had to pay in cash! When I told them that I was told I could pay by card, they mentioned they had never been told anything like that! (Take into consideration that I confirmed with the rep many, many times before finalizing the deal and was told this was fine) So when they refused to take plastic, I then had to find a bank branch location where I could withdraw the amount of money needed to pay them, (the move was on a Saturday, and it was now after 3pm, so bank lobbies were closed). After that, they then asked me for a tip because, and I quote "the tip is the reason we got there on time." When I told them I didn't have any more cash on me, they then told me that they could accept my card for the tip! At this point I was waaaay past mad! How can you accept my card for a tip, but you can't accept it for payment?!? Makes no sense to me. When I tried to contact the company via phone calls and emails to complain about these issues; the missing wardrobe boxes, (Since I don't have a car, I had to rent a uhaul truck in order to pick up the clothes that were left in the closets because they didn't bring the wardrobe boxes as well as get the other items that the movers refused to bring, although they were packed in boxes), refusing my form of payment, accepting my card for tip after asking for one, I was ignored, no response whatsoever! The sad thing is that they were in contact with me several times per week when we were making the arrangements, but now since there was an issue, they didn't want to talk with me. After I put a bad review for them on Yelp, they then got back in touch with me and told me that they would refund some of the money I paid for a tip, but only if I would remove the negative review - sounds a little like blackmail to me. I was just so upset with this company and really can't in good faith refer them to anyone; I was just unhappy with the outcome and wish that I had chosen another company.

What started off as potentially problematic turned into a wonderful experience. The truck they brought was too small for the amount of "stuff" we had in our townhouse and storage facilities, but through quick thinking/planning and organizing, we were able to move all of our stuff in 2 trips, keeping cost to a minimum and knowing that time is money, still working efficiently and effectively throughout the 9 hours moving process!!! I am amazed they were able to stand by the end of the night starting from 1 PM and not ending until 10 PM, they were not going to be deterred and offered suggestions, but always followed ultimately your final decision whether you went wit their suggestion or not (Ex: wanted a long couch in new kids playroom, they didn't think it would fit and suggested it in sitting room with the love seat going in play room --- however that just was not what we envisioned or wanted and sure enough --- about 10-15 minutes later, they made it work and got the long couch somehow through the door and in no problem.). Would recommend again for sure!
