My movers were very professional, worked hard, were friendly, and performed quality work. I will use them again if I have to move.

The crew of Bill, Dave and Tim arrived around 9:30 in the morning, and using Jenga-like skills, managed to fit all of our belongings into their truck, which included approximately 125-150 individual boxes of "stuff" (a lot of it heavy stuff, like books, records and CDs). We had furniture, desks, bookshelves, bikes, bins and bins and bins of clothes and paperwork, and tons of boxes of other stuff, and they managed to figure out a way to squeeze it all in their truck -- even though we used the "big truck", we still filled it literally to the brim.

Valuables/fragile pieces were wrapped in pads, absolutely nothing was damaged, and at the end of 9 hours, everything was put safely into our new house. The 3 gents who did the move were incredibly gracious the entire time, never once complained, and treated each piece with care. Very impressive.

They got to our place 20 minutes prior to the appointment time and checked everything out to figure out the best plan of attack. the started by bringing in boxes for us to move clothes that were on hangers in (Great service) We were able to move our clothes directly from one closet to another. Once we had our clothes packed, they basically cleared everything of one apartment and met us at our new place and again scoped out the best plan of attack. Let them know in advance if you have special moving needs so they can be properly prepared for them. The were able to unpack everything in a few hours. The was one bookshelf damaged but i didn't notice it until about a week later when all the pile of boxes was gone :(

Dave, Tim and Steve were punctual, friendly, helpful and conscientious. Our items arrived in perfect condition, were placed where we asked and they even helped move some appliances upstairs. An excellent experience start to finish.

The experience from start to finish was effortless and friendly. I wish more in life went this way! Upon my first visit at the office, Sherry took me on a tour and outlined the storage options and the moving process. The fact that they did both was a REAL PLUS. She gave me an exceptionally fair price for both. We chose a date and she confirmed via phone the day before. She included her mobile number just in case, as this move was earlier than the office opened. Nice touch. The movers, Dave K. and Bill C., called when they were on their way and arrived right on time. I was a little nervous about the move as this furniture piece was large and heavy and requires a tight fit through doorways and down stairs. The two guys couldn't have been friendlier and more professional. Everything went smoothly and without a hitch. No stress. No swearing. Great! They then moved the piece (and all the pieces) into the storage space for me and wrapped it there for safe keeping. I visited the space later that morning and found they had done a fine job. The cost was so fair that I was able to tip them both generously and still be under budget. If ever I have another move to make, I will call Windy City movers again! Side note, Yelp had indicated that the company had closed and that service was bad. I got the story from Dave during the move. The company was indeed closed after 30 years in business. The company was sold and was run poorly. Someone else then "stole" the name and was scamming work for a period of time. The original owner has since regained control (always owned the name) and is back in business. All is well again. :-)

We needed help moving heavy boxes and items into a storage container for shipment to AZ. Windy City Movers said they would be happy to assist us. The movers were slightly late due to unforseen circumstances, but once they arrived everything went smoothly. The movers were extremely professional and pleasant. They were able to complete the task in less than one hour--something that would have taken us alot longer. We were very pleased with the outcome. We definitely would use them again. We highly recommend their services.

This is the third time I've used Windy City Movers and I can't begin to say how wonderful they are. From Sherry (who answers the phone/books the move) to the crews they send....they are just stellar. I LOVED the crew (Dave K, Bill, and Pat) they sent this time around and highly recommend these particular guys. The move was from a garden apartment in Roscoe Village to a second floor condo in Andersonville, so I had both old and new furniture to be moved. They moved the old furniture into the alley and the new furniture to the condo...and managed to do all of this in 90 minutes without breaking or damaging anything/inadvertently tossing away anything/etc.. They even offered to help us move items from our second floor condo down to the basement storage unit once everything was moved into the condo. When we said "No thanks," their response was, "Are you sure? We're happy to do it!" Beyond being efficient, the guys were unbelievably personable. It was raining, it was 8 AM, and they were still cracking jokes and smiling the entire time. And on top of it, they are so reasonably priced it's almost insane. As I said, I've used Windy City Movers 3 times and have always been happy...but this was by far my best experience with them!

The two-man crew was about 30 minutes late, but they performed the job very well once they arrived. I would definitely hire this company again.

THIS MOVING COMPANY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND READY TO GET TO WORK. THEY ONLY HAD TO MOVE THE BOXES AND HEAVY ITEMS AS EVERYTHING ELSE WAS BOXED UP FOR THEM. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY.

THE ESTIMATOR CAME OUT TO DO A VISUAL ESTIMATE AND HE WAS POLITE, PUNCTUAL, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. THEN MOVING DAY CAME. THEY WERE 75 MINUTES LATE (WE ONLY HAD THE ELEVATOR FOR A MAX OF 3 HOURS), 3-MAN CREW WORKED AT A SNAIL'S PACE, AND WERE SOLICITING FOR KICK-BACKS WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF THEIR ARRIVAL. (IF CREW FINISHES THE JOB EARLY, COULD WE STILL PAY THE FULL ESTIMATE BUT GIVE THE DIFFERENCE DIRECTLY TO THE CREW?). CREW ALSO STRESSED THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR TIPS AS THEIR MAIN SOURCE OF INCOME. THEY WHINED AND MOANED (''MY MOTHER JUST GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL TODAY, IT'S A WONDER I'M WORKING''). THEY GOT TO THE HOUSE, UNLOADED EVERYTHING, AND BROKE A GLASS COFFEE TABLE AND DENIED IT. SAID THEY DIDN'T LOAD IT AT THE CONDO. ONLY WHEN DIRECTLY CONFRONTED DID THEY ADMIT IT. CREW LEADER USED FOUL LANGUAGE EXTENSIVELY AND ''SOLD OUT'' THE GLASS-BREAKING CREW MEMBER TO US. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT USE THEM!
