We are a family owned & operated professional full service moving company, licensed by the Illinois Commerce Commission to provide moving services within the state of Illinois since 1982. We are an award winning company and are members of the Illinois Movers and Warehousemen's Association. -Specialize in local moving in the Chicago metropolitan area and will move one item to a household or more. We move Residences, Offices, & Commercial locations and provide free on-site estimates. -Estate Clean outs and Junk Hauling. -Broker long distance moves through licensed, reputable van lines and are able to book international moves. -Move pianos, organs, special appliances, antiques, and fine arts. -Packing services..packing, unpacking, packing materials, and build crates for specialty items. -Hoisting and craning services. -Specialize in moving senior citizens and try to anticipate all of their special needs. We have provided services for schools, churches, hospitals, museums, and large corporations, and senior citizen homes. We believe in giving back to the community and donate a portion of our proceeds to numerous charities, including fighting and research of cancer, children's learning disabilities, and Shriner's Hospitals . Description of Work: Moved contents of a 3 bedroom house to another location as well as to storage. Even moved unwanted items to the curb. |These 3 guys busted their a**** for 8+ hours . They were nice, quick, polite and careful. I will hire them again. | |Be nice to your movers if you want them to care of your stuff. they work hard. Have some water or some food for them and TIP them. They work a lot harder than a barista.

Description of Work: Windy City Movers moved me from a 3 bedroom condo to a two bedroom apt. They were very responsive, quick and efficient, and friendly, but what stood out the most was their flexibility. I asked if we could move the moving time up to make sure we could fit into the freight elevator slot. They hustled to get everything loaded and get over to the apt as soon as possible. They unloaded as much as possible during the reserved time and then were very careful in moving the smaller items up the regular elevators. They were patient when they had to wait for somebody to finish using the freight elevator for the remaining large items. My crew never complained. I will definitely use them again and hope that I get the same crew.

Description of Work: Provider gave appointment for a moving/storage quote and appeared very interested, knowledgable and professional during the visit but failed to provide a quote after saying it would be offered within a day or two. I called to remind them that I was waiting for a quote and they said they would look into it. I received no further calls or information. If they did not want the job or could not perform the job then a return call would have been appropriate.

THE ESTIMATOR CAME OUT TO DO A VISUAL ESTIMATE AND HE WAS POLITE, PUNCTUAL, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. THEN MOVING DAY CAME. THEY WERE 75 MINUTES LATE (WE ONLY HAD THE ELEVATOR FOR A MAX OF 3 HOURS), 3-MAN CREW WORKED AT A SNAIL'S PACE, AND WERE SOLICITING FOR KICK-BACKS WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF THEIR ARRIVAL. (IF CREW FINISHES THE JOB EARLY, COULD WE STILL PAY THE FULL ESTIMATE BUT GIVE THE DIFFERENCE DIRECTLY TO THE CREW?). CREW ALSO STRESSED THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR TIPS AS THEIR MAIN SOURCE OF INCOME. THEY WHINED AND MOANED (''MY MOTHER JUST GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL TODAY, IT'S A WONDER I'M WORKING''). THEY GOT TO THE HOUSE, UNLOADED EVERYTHING, AND BROKE A GLASS COFFEE TABLE AND DENIED IT. SAID THEY DIDN'T LOAD IT AT THE CONDO. ONLY WHEN DIRECTLY CONFRONTED DID THEY ADMIT IT. CREW LEADER USED FOUL LANGUAGE EXTENSIVELY AND ''SOLD OUT'' THE GLASS-BREAKING CREW MEMBER TO US. SO UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT USE THEM!
