Very disappointed with my experience with Cunningham movers. We were quoted 3 hrs of work plus 1 hr of travel at $120/hr totaling 480. I thought this was a great price compared to the many moving quotes we received. By the end items were damaged, we were charged an additional hour, and we were insulted via social media for writing a review based on our experience. Come moving day the owner called to say they were going to be an hour and half late, our original appointment was at 1PM, no big deal things like that happen. They showed up with 3 men and a teenage girl... they actually moved us out pretty quick however they used up the rest of our packing tape with out asking and only started using theirs once our roll was empty - they stated they would bring their own supplies. Once arriving at our new place the three men plus teenage girl turned in to two men, one teenage girl, and two more preteen boys (I later learned these were Cunningham's kids). Two men and essentially CHILDREN were unloading the the truck. They did work fast, as they did before, but I watched the children drop my boxes, found them upside down, and saw they were put anywhere despite them saying "Living Room," "Master Bathroom," and etc... granted these kids looked tired, sweating, red-faced, dehydrated, exhausted but it took a lot of extra time moving the boxes to the locations they were supposed to be. By 6PM they completed the job and the owner said luckily for us he won't charge us for the extra workers... the inexperienced fatigued CHILDREN that were dropping my things everywhere. Later I noticed items were damaged both furniture and items in boxes (the upside down fragile labeled boxes). The owner, Bill Cunningham, bumped up our fee an additional hour to $600. So not only did we get screwed on price, but also on quality. I tried to work this out with the owner over the phone but he wouldn't budge stating we were lucky to have collage-age adults working this job. Again these were young teens or preteens. I sent my review to Cunningham with no response but once I posted it we started experiencing backlash from the company. They have been posting pictures of myself and my husband (taken from our Facebook profiles) stating we are lying, that they attempted to contact me twice, and that we are wasting our time. I hope this is the extent their retaliation will go. I have attached photos of their retaliation. I suggest to not use them and pay additional money to work with a quality and professional company. Pros: quick work Con: Poor quality work, over charge from quoted prices, used child labor, owner lies, retaliation

Oh lord here is the story on the movers....They called me up and verified the move date and time and I said yes and had instructed them on several occasions a move from Chicago to Berwyn, but I also do recall speaking to two different people (Bill and someone else) and this may have caused some miscommunication. They came on time which is great and my husband instructed them to move items through the back porch just as the landlord had told us. My husband had to leave (probably the biggest mistake at this point looking back) because of an emergency appointment back home that he should have not scheduled but didn't want to cancel. The movers were left alone and all seemed well and they called me when they left the apartment and again I told one of the movers the address. About an hour passed and they hadn't reached the new house so I called and my husband told me they went to our address in Chicago. I told them no it should be Berwyn and I called up Cunningham and they told me I told them Chicago but when I searched the address online there was no location in Chicago with my address but didn't bother to mention it, I just wanted them to get to the right place. I told Cunningham that it is about 9 miles from the Chicago apartment to the Berwyn house and that should only take about a 1/2 hour. Mind you before I spoke to them my husband had a discussion with Bill and they argued and there were some rude words thrown around, this is why I called them up to talk to them. Either way in the end they did knock off an hour for travel which would leave us right which was fine with me. When I got home all the boxes were in the basement even though I labeled them Kitchen/Bathroom/Bedroom, and the furniture luckily was up in the 2nd floor, some clothes were in the closet and some were on the floor. My husband was not looking out and had then saw the boxes in the basement and said no they should go upstairs and someone said "time is money" and didn't move the boxes. We had paid just as we had expected and my husband told me one of the guys was like your going to tip us right because it wasn't our fault. He didn't like the remark but he still gave the guys a ten dollar tip each. Days passed and my landlord calls me to tell me that we need to go back to the apartment because there is futon bed on the side of her lawn and mattresses and garbage outside her garbage bin and she can get fined and if she does she'll make us pay for it. My husband and I had to go back and move the futon off the lawn and find a way to throw out the mattresses in the garbage so she won't get a ticket. A few after that my landlord calls me to yell at me because he front stairwell walls have been damaged due to moving our move and a piece of her stairwell is missing. She told us we need to pay for the damages for her front stairwell cause she specifically told us to move out the backstairs just as my husband had instructed the movers. I am very upset because this is causing more harm then if I would have moved myself and more costly. I did not tell Cunningham about the items on the lawn waste, and the damages to her front stairwell because if they gave me a hard time about an incorrect address there will be no resolution on the damages for moving in the front way. What should have happened was that I should have taken the day off to make sure everything went well but I blame myself for that. This whole thing seemed to be a lack of communication and should have requested something in writing. Going forward I will be doing things differently but am no longer going to work with Cunningham Movers.
