Description of Work: My Front wrought iron six foot gate has been giving me trouble for a few years now. It wasn't closing properly because of pressure on the latch which Jerry from Weld On Wheels, determined was due to the hinges were welded incorrectly. I was expecting Jerry to suggest that he return another day to make the repair, since his presence on this day was to evaluate the situation and present a proposal for the work. Instead, Jerry presented me with the proposal and offered to make the repair immediately. I was shocked, but excited to realize that my front gate problems would be coming to an end. I accepted and jerry got to work right away with his right hand woman (his wife) assisting. Now that's a matrimonial team working at it's best. Not only did they accomplish the task of repairing my front gate sooner than I expected, but my front gate opens, closes and locks like butter. Unbelievable! I'm so happy with the work they did, I'm almost afraid to tell you about it, in fear of creating such a demand for "Weld on Wheels" that I'll have to wait longer the next time I need them for some other welding project, but it won't be my front gate. However, quality workmanship like that of "Weld on Wheels" should be shared with everyone in need of professional, quality, clean and responsive service. Did I mention the slick and catchy name on his work vehicle? "WELD ON WHEELS", now that's Kewl !

+ 2 moreVery well - grate is custom made for my application; I didn't want to move the intercom to the fence so a small cage was built around it. The railings look like they belong and were never broken. The work is neatly done and looks very nice! Please see the pictures. It was so easy to deal with this contractor - the communication is great and they are extremely service oriented. They know what they are doing - the owner (Gerardo Brito) does the work and is extremely knowledgeable. They are polite, on time, and professional. If I ever need welding done again, this is my contractor! I never thought I would be able to find someone at a reasonable price to do what I want done - I was happy to find this company.
Description of Work: I needed a grate welded onto my wrought iron fence gate and around intercom so people can't reach their hands in to unlock my gate. I also needed the railings repaired on both sides where they were rusted and broke off at sidewalk. Railings were replaced and re-sunk in concrete.

+ 0 moreFrom our initial consultation, we had tremendous confidence in Jerry’s abilities to handle this unique welding project. He identified a scope for the project which included cleaning the surface down to the bare metal, removing and rebuilding two steel pieces (~ 2 ft by 3 ft) which needed to be replaced, sanding the entire steel platform (~ 6 ft by 11 ft), restoring the integrity of the structure by welding new diamond-plate steel pieces to the original platform, priming the entire surface and applying a higher quality paint to provide better protection against elements in the future. Throughout the process, Jerry was creative when he needed to be to come up with solutions to any issues that arose. Not only did Jerry take care of the initial problem we knew required attention, but he went above and beyond our expectations – we now have what looks like a brand new lift. We are thrilled with the final result and have already recommended Welds on Wheels to friends. If and when we need a welder in the future, our first and only phone call will be to Jerry and the Welds on Wheels team.
Description of Work: Our welding needs were unique. We have a car lift in our garage whereby we park one car on a diamond-plate steel platform, raise it up using a hydraulic lift, and then park a second car beneath the steel platform. After many years of Chicago winters with snow, salt, and slush, the whole lift started to rust causing potentially dangerous holes to form in the steel. We recognized we needed a skilled welder and craftsperson for the project.

+ 2 moreI cannot say enough great things about this company. Gerardo answered my calls, came promptly, did wonderful work and made appropriate suggestions for my gates/fence. I have had an extremely difficult time finding someone who could or would do iron work welding- especially small jobs. most companies I called would not even answer the phone or never showed up for the appt. I also wanted someone who has experience with this type of work. weld on wheels work was excellent and well priced. they even returned for minor adjustments due to weather changes. I am so happy I found this service . I will need future work and they have made suggestions and offered pictures of similar jobs they have done before. I would highly recommend weld on wheels to anyone needing iron work.

+ 1 moreIt went great from start to finish! The office receptionist was very friendly and had me text her pictures of the gate so that the problem could be assessed before sending someone out. She then confirmed a date for the repair. Jerry (the owner) texted me with repair specifics and quotes for two options. He was very thorough and answered all my questions in great detail. I opted to have a frame added/extended to the existing one. The repair could not be completed on the first attempt due to the sizing being not quite right for the metal bars Jerry had with him, but he did adjust the lock so the door would stay closed - free of charge. He arranged to come back to complete the repair within a few days. I was not present on the first visit, but was there on the second. Jerry was so friendly and helpful. He did quality work on the frame and really took the time to explain what he was doing. This is someone who really values his customers. I can highly recommend his services!
Description of Work: The door frame on gate in back of our house had moved so no longer closed enough to catch the lock.

Scheduling was simple as sending a photo (it was a fairly simple job, not sure big jobs could be quoted over photo) and they gave me a price that I considered reasonable enough to not even bother getting another quote. Gerardo showed up, nice guy, very professional. Asked me a couple questions to make sure we were on the same page for the job, made sure everything was to my liking before fully welding, explained how to adjust, and then finished the weld perfectly. He cleaned up and went on his way. A+ all around. Will keep them on file and recommend for any welding needs.
