Gumer is very professional, knowledgeable and expert. He provided prompt estimates and offered extensive fabric selection in attempt to match my preferred fabric. Completed reupholstery in record time, well ahead of estimate. Would highly recommend and employ again.

I highly recommend. I was helped in my selection of fabric and provided samples to take home with me before I made my selection. Once I selected the fabric, I made payment for the fabric and it was ordered. Once the fabric came in, Windy City picked up my couch and delivered it once the work was done. I paid for the work when the couch was delivered. The whole process was very smooth and the quality of the work is excellent.

Gumar came to look at the project and told me he would give me a bid the following Monday. Nothing came by that Tuesday. I called and asked him when I’d get the bid and he said that evening. Never followed up

Well. They helped me choose a fabric and we worked to keep costs down. They did a fine job. it was a simple project so I can't fully judge their workmanship on a more complicated project, but I had no complaints.

It went very well. I was very pleased with the whole process. The work performed was expertly done. I was very please with the help I got in making the decisions on fabric as well as in deciding how some of the finish work would be done. A great staff. I was also quite pleased that they picked up and delivered the items.

I had trouble getting hold of them initially because the phone number was wrong, but eventually I just went over there in person with the ottoman and they were very responsive and apologetic. They didn't know that the phone number was listed incorrectly and they started working on fixing it right when I was there. The ottoman job turned out beautifully. I plan on getting the other three re-done, too. They don't really need it yet but the work Windy City did was better than the original upholstery which is starting to come apart in places. Also, some of the work I saw in their shop waiting for pick up was gorgeous. It made me want to start finding old chairs in the alley now that I have a place to take them to be restored.

Gumer did a fantastic job on this rather difficult project. It looks like a brand new couch and it so comfortable now. Excellent work and highly recommended!

Mixed. Melissa, who helped me, was very helpful in many ways. She was very responsive to the circumstances that needed to be addressed (recovering a chair for an older infirm adult in a nursing home) and made a wonderful suggestion of having a washable slipcover made for the chair rather than full reupholstering. This idea seemed like a very good idea. It was certainly cheaper than a complete recovering, but still was a $440. project. The results did not look very attractive. She indicated that the man doing the slipcover questioned why a slipcover was being made as the shape of the chair (curved back) was not conducive to an attractive outcome. I believe he did the best he could given the piece of furniture he was working with. I had no issues around the quality of the work. I wish I had been contacted BEFORE he proceeded so I could have been told and then made an informed choice about what I wanted to do. I now have a chair that I would not put into my living room but still spent significant money on. I certainly would recommend the work quality and the service was good too. You can see from the photos how well the seat cushion was done. There was a lot of detail effort; it just didn't work so well on this type of chair. It was just a small judgement error, but an expensive one. I would rather have had the opportunity to decide to fully reupholster the chair. I would recommend the work quality and service though.

Had a fantastic experience working with this company and will definitely return for future projects. This was the second time working with Gumer and co. The first was a couple years ago when my client needed a custom storage ottoman to match her office chaise. They did a beautiful job and it looks brand new years later. This was the second project with family room ottoman that was improperly done originally and needed firm foam replacement. This ottoman had welting and no leftover fabric from custom order so it was a very delicate process, but Gumer replaced the foam and has it looking like new. The re-stuffing of office chaise is also excellent. It needed some detailed reshaping to level it off (given that chaise has a dip in middle and right side), and Gumer also did a great job on that. Gumer and family are great to work with, offer very reasonable pricing, and handle everything promptly and efficiently. If I could give more than "A", I would!

We had a few hiccups in getting together for the bid and pick up process, probably on account of this brutal winter what with colds and engine troubles. However, Gumer's bid came in significantly lower than the 3 other bids, both for labor and material. He seemed so capable and knowledgeable asking me a lot of questions about what I liked about my love seats (comfort levels, etc). Most astonishing to my husband and me tho was that the turnaround on the upholstering turned out to be 4 days. We had been expecting 2-3 weeks! They were extremely cautious with the pick up and delivery - these are heavy love seats. If I can figure out a way to attach a photo, I will.

I found them on Angie's List and I had a really good experience with them as well. He did a beautiful job. He was efficient and very nice. He was on time and his price was reasonable. He gave really good service. He came out and looked at it. I would use him again.

Windy City gave us the best price, and did an excellent job. They put the frame together better than the manufacturer had, and didn't try to sell us extra services. Pickup and dropoff was included in the price. The only reason I gave a B on punctuality was that they didn't show up the first time they promised, either to give us an estimate or to pick up the sofa for repair. But they returned it when they promised to, and it's in great shape. I would definitely call Windy City again.

I brought a chair in for an estimate, and got one quickly. It was a good price, and thus decided to have all six chairs re-glued and the cushions re-upholstered. It was my Grandmother's dining room set so a bit sentimental, and I was anxious since the chairs were really falling apart. Windy City took all the chairs apart and reglued them. They also redid the cushions and used some fabric that we provided. The cushions are very comfortable and look really professionally done! Windy City also polished the chairs so they look less worn, even though that was not anticipated. Although the chairs were not refinished, they look so much better. The pickup and delivery for a small fee was really great too. All in all the price was slightly less than my estimate. I would absolutely have them re-glue, upholster or refinish the next piece from the dining room set. Highly recommend!

The company is in a small storefront on the northwest-ish side, and is family owned. The woman who helped me was very helpful, very gracious. The work is done in a shabby looking room in the back, but don't be deterred. It's very professional, but relaxed and open. I chose it mostly because it's relatively close to my house, and because I prefer giving business to smaller places that might not be on the top of Angie's list because they're not well known. The quality of the work speaks for itself, though.

The owners/staff are very responsive and easy to work with. The quote was much less than other companies, so much so that I was worried about how good the end result might be. So I went to their office and looked at samples of their work before deicing. I was satisfied enough to hire them. I just received the chair back yesterday, and I'm really impressed with the quality of the work. Both the refinishing and upholstery are outstanding. It looks brand-new. Highly recommended.

They were great to work with all around. I did have to call once to check in but the chairs were ready when I went to pick them up. The cost was exactly what they said it would be. It is a small family run operation. Again, we are very happy with the work.

Gumer of Windy City Upholstery came to my home to give me a free estimate on the cost of slipcovering my sofa. He was prompt and helpful - making suggestions based on what I was asking for. A few weeks later, the sofa was picked up and the cover made. The sofa was gone about 1 week longer than had been anticipated, but I didn't find this bothersome. The quality of the work is excellent.
