They’ve been around forever. Overall the job went well. It really did and they’re very good. It’s just that they are really expensive. They were very dependable, professional and punctual. I will use their services again in the future.

As far as I know they did a good job. We felt the higher price was worth it to have professionals do the work.

They were really good. They came twice to do the work. They delivered good mulch. They cut down trees and they mulch around them. If I want large mulch, then they will bring it without charging much.

I have used them many times. They are honest; they show up on time and professional. They know what they are talking about and they are in business for ever. I have used them before and they are extremely neat and they are the only tree company that we have used.

Two trees were overgrown to the extent that multiple branches were bending up against windows of our 2-story condo building. Because of all the severe weather Chicago suffered in June, there was serious concern the branches might easily break through the windows. They needed to be cut back immediately. When a rep from The Care of Trees arrived to assess the situation, he suggested we phone the city as the trees are technically on city property; however, we had done so and had been informed by a 311 operator there was a 150 day wait for tree trimming.With a very clear understanding the work would be done immediately, we signed a contract and supplied a 30% deposit to The Care of Trees. Not only did they agree to cut the branches in question, but also to prune both trees, remove any dead branches perform general maintenance on the trees. Two and a half weeks later (and two big thunderstorms later), the work still had not been done. After several phone calls to the company, The Care of Trees lopped a few branches off of one tree. No pruning was done, nor were any dead branches removed, and the second tree remains untouched. Most importantly, this very small job was not done in the manner promised nor was it done promptly, which was the entire reason we hired a private company (rather than waiting potentially five months for the city) to do the work.

I met the technician for the initial appointment and talked about a tree that hadn't been doing well and about trimming of some additional trees on my property. I was given a proposal on site. After thinking about it, I called about a week later to schedule some of the work. I did not need to be home for the work to be done and wasn't sure what I would come home to. However, they did a super job of trimming my trees and cleaned-up so well that you couldn't even tell they were there... except for my beautifully coifed trees.

I have used them for years and I am very satisfied with them. They come every year and provide advice and do whatever needs to be done with our trees. They do a lot of work for the city. They come regularly every spring and fall to do some particular things with particular trees. Anytime I see a problem I call them and the man named Shawn comes and looks at it. We then decide what has to be done. The people are fine and I don’t have any problems.

See above. Showed up exactly on time, did a meticulous job, removing major branches from above the roof and porch roof, cleaned up thoroughly. A very impressive job, well worth the money--in fact, inexpensive for the quality of work.

It seemed to me that it took a little while to get the work scheduled, but it was not a serious issue. A small crew came and they worked steadily for few hours and completed the work quickly. They are very professional and send very well trained people who help us decide what needs to be done. Then, they send the work crew who do the work well. We have always used them because they were recommended by somebody we trusted. I know from talking to other people that I can get this kind of work done a lot more cheaply. They are expensive but I think we get good value for our money. I would recommend them to others.

I trust them completely and they are very good to work with--they really do care about trees.

I contacted the provider regarding the job and received a response within 24 hours. I schedule appointment for the arborist Evan to come and quote the job. He arrived on time and we were able to go over the jobs requirement in less than 5 minutes. Evan emailed me the proposal for the work the next morning. I accepted the proposal and Evan informed me that he would contact the city for the permit and after receiving the permit we could schedule the job. After 3 days Evan contacted me to explain the city's requirements in order to grant the permit. All those were taken care of . Job was scheduled and tree was removed. Total length of process three weeks. I would recommend The Care of Trees and Evan to anyone who wishes to remove or maintain their trees.

The Care of Trees does a great job advising us what to do with our trees and does a great job trimming.

They explained exactly what was wrong with my tree and why it couldn't be saved. They didn't try to sell me anything. They gave me a lot of options and directed me on what kinds of questions to ask nurseries. They were great.

They did an outstanding Job, Dan Krug our tree guy was great, he explained everything clearly and was a complete pro.

We chose them over another company because we felt they had more experience as far as trimming goes. They were a little pricier.

I called about a smallish (over 4 story high) mostly dead maple tree. I got no response from the CARE of TREES. At all. I called another company. They at least came out, looked at it, and told me the tree was too small for them to take down as a single job, but that they would put me on a list - if they were in the neighborhood doing another job, they'd let me know. The Care of Trees didn't even do that!

We have been using Care of Trees for the past 9 years to inoculate our aging White Birch. While the actual inoculation and other tree trimming services have been fine, their customer service is very poor. We have an automatic payment/services contract with them, which means that every Spring they are to automatically schedule a time to come to the house to care for the tree. Every year I have had to call them to remind them to come out. Each year they apologize and promise to be proactive the next year. After playing this game for years I gave up and fired them. Very disappointed.

Allen Matthews contacted and and arrive on time for my estimate. He explained in detail what was happened with the trees and how they would be serviced. I asked that they call a day ahead of their service and they did. Also, that I would stay in the yard and answer any questions I had about the trees. The crew arrived and did exercises before they started which I thought was great for their work as they had to climb ladders and reach with equipment. I found this an excellent idea as the crew is taken care of as well as the trees and I don't have to worry about the workmen getting hurt this way. They answered all my questions and helped me understand how the trees grow and fruit. Also, they didn't' make me feel as if I had neglected the trees in the past for not getting them pruned sooner. They spent a great deal of time on my trees even though they had other jobs that day. All thanked me and said good bye when they left. An excellent company...the best!

Allen came out to provide an estimate to cut down some dead branches. He noted that a portion of the tree was resting on a power wire. While Allen stated honestly that they could not do the job because of the danger involved, he did provide information on how to contact Com Ed to deal with the tree. He also provided some helpful information as to the health of the tree, and reassurance that the dead branches would not fall anytime soon. I appreciated all the information he provided, even though I would not be able to use them due to the involvement of the power lines.

Care of Trees lives up to their name. They are very meticulous in evaluating our trees and maintaining them. They have helped us commit to native plantings by helping us pick species and find available saplings. They understand our budget limitations and offer ideas to stretch our dollars. It's a pleasure working with people who truly seem to love what they do.

Evan the Certified Arborist from The Care of Trees, came out shortly after we called. He was prompt and very professional in giving us an estimate with the 10% off coupon from Angie's List. He said he would try to get a crew out as soon as possible, since part of the tree needed to be removed from the shed to avoid any further damage. Evan sent a crew (Esrain and Jesus) out shortly as we were told. They worked non- stop to complete the job. We appreciate the prompt, neat and courteous service we received. We have had several large trees removed by different tree services, and we would recommend The Care of Trees as the very best!

I have regularly used them. They are very professional and they send in an arborist for consultation before the workers come out. They do work a lot with industrial landscaping and it shows in their sort of equipment. They bring in a cherry picker, which certainly costs extra, but when that is what you need, that's the best thing. They also climb the trees. They really know what they are doing. The price can range from $200-$600 depending on how much trimming is needed. They normally come every two to three years. Their price is not cheap, but for what they are providing, it is actually really good. It is certainly worth the price and I have no problem paying it. It is pretty reasonable. I've been really happy with this company.

They are extremely professional. When they are going to provide an injection or spraying they call ahead of time. I have a lot of bird baths in my yard, and I always ask them to turn them over so no insecticides get into the baths. They do a beautiful job trimming. When they leave, it's as if they had never been there trimming because it is so tidy! I used another company once and the property was a mess when they left! The best thing I can say about The Care Of Trees is that they are professional and they respect my property. I have a double lot and I have been told that it looks like a city park. I don't paying a little extra for them because their services are such good quality.
