They do a good job. They will do special treatments for the trees to keep them healthy. The technicians are excellent as well.

They charged me $1300, and the nearest competitor wanted to charge me $1900-$2000, so they were just hands down. They were just really proficient, very nice, and a lot of tree companies don't do a good job of getting rid of the tree stumps, and they got rid of the tree stumps. There was no damage to anything in my yard, and the trees were probably 50feet high, and so it was a pretty daunting job. I have electrical wires and stuff to my house, and they were really efficient. I had my heart in my throat, because the trees are so tall, I didn't know how they would get them down, but they did a good job. The one thing that was good about them was that if I was flexible, and if I could fit into their schedule, they would give me a discount. They were originally going to charge me $1600, and I saved by being flexible. They gave me a notice of 2 days, and gave me a good price. I have another tree that I may call them for.

Professional, takes time to explain, considerable care in yard and regarding neighbors properties. clean up after is terrific. did the last service in near 0 weather and were quick, and careful. \

There was no cost because I had a coupon for a first visit for free.

They were supposed to trim trees in my patio. The foreman Charlie told me that he would trim trees so they would look nicer and not knock against windows. I went in house for minute and he was gone. I asked his crew where he was, but none of them claimed to know English. Later when I sent in the bill with a note saying the work was unacceptable, I was told that I would be placed with a collection agency. Later when I finally reach Charlie he claimed all the work was done perfectly. I disagree. But vowed never to use them again. My suggestion to Angie's List users is do not use Care of Trees.

Dan Krug met with my husband and gave him the estimate of cutting down and removing two trees which were diseased. He was very professional, punctual and gave us a fair estimate of the work. The work was performed promptly and professionally the following week, as agreed upon. We would definitely recommend this company for tree service, and will likely use them again in the future.

The job was estimated about 5 weeks prior to the job being done. I was told to allow about 5 to 6 weeks due to the number of requests that the company had following some spring and summer storms. I marked that punctuality was N/A due to the fact that the job would be done when a crew was available. The crew of about 4 or 5 came and trimmed back the tree to the property line as I had requested. They completed the job in about 45 minutes and then cleaned up my garage roof with a blower and removed all of the trimmed branches. They did not contact me prior to arrival or before starting the job. There was no need to since the tree is in a vacant yard and they could access it without my involvement. I happened to be home when the crew arrived and observed the work. The bill came about three weeks later and the terms of payment were convenient with credit card or check allowed. I think they did a good job and I would hire the company again.

As told in above details, all went excellent. Their prices are not cheap, but again you get what you pay for.

I received a quote for $785 to do the required trimming. I thought this was a little high so I didn't schedule the work immediately. On 8/21 I sent an email to COT with a signed quote requesting to be scheduled in. As of 9/1 I have not heard back from them. In my view this is unacceptable. COT receives an F for service and professionalism.

They were excellent. Their people were very good. I thought they were very professional.

Beautifully. The Arborist came out, gave me an estimate and a time frame in which I could expect it to be done. They called with time to spare on their projected time line. Did a fabulous job and took the debris away. The yard looks great and no more worries about that tree falling on the house.

Provider was really professional and knowledgeable about trees. Too bad the quoted price was a little too high for me, but I think these guys really know what they are doing.

The trees and bushes were trimmed beautifully. The workers, as well as the person who initially came to give an estimate were punctual , cordial and seemed very knowledgable. Cleanup up was perfect.

I received three bids. I thought the initial guy who came out, Charlie, gave good advice and recommendations and was prompt with the estimate (which was the middle of 3 bids) and scheduling the work. This was a challenging job due to the tree's proximity to other buildings, power, telephone and cable lines, other peoples property, other peoples cars and the only access to the site was to park the trucks in our driveway and the alley. That makes it logistically difficult when operating a bucket and cutting a giant chunk of wood from the tree - three feet thick at certain parts three stories in the air. These guys do amazing things but I was alerted when I heard something slam against our back porch. It made a loud noise and I could feel the vibration through the building and it scared the heck out of my dog. Then later I heard another loud noise, this time it was a chunk of wood hitting our concrete block walls as it was being lowered to the ground. I then went to the roof to watch and when the large logs are dropped, some start swinging like a pendulum as it goes down. I have no idea if it did any damage but I have to knock off points for that. That said, I have no idea if anyone could have done better. They did the job, and cleaned up afterwards. In a dense urban area, saw dust flies EVERYWHERE because its the windy city. It leaves the saw, flies into the air and lands on every roof, porch or other surface all around the whole area. They cleaned off the immediate neighbor's roofs and did a decent job on our driveway. The rest I presume will wash away with the rain.

They arrived on time and worked very hard and some of the steps that had to be taken looked really difficult to maneuver. They did a great job and we are very pleased with the results.

He arrived on time. Shared information about the trees based upon his inspection of them. Was knowledgeable about those and other trees in my yard.

Evan Shorr and his crew are professional, efficient, clean up after themselves and filled a squirrel cavity to save my beloved tree. I've recommended them to other neighbors, friends and co-workers!!!!!

I've used The Care of Trees to perform landscaping work at my house in the past, so, it was a natural to go back to them again when I needed some shrubs to fill a blank space in my backyard. I call them, made an appointment, and Dan Krug arrived right at the appointed time. Dan gave me a good price for the work, but, recommended tha tI wait until spring when he would be able to obtain healthier plants. Needless to say, it was refreshing to find someone who was not willing to just throw plants into the ground and see what happens. This work will, therefore, be completed early next year.

I used this this company for pruning services 7 years ago when it was Hendricksons and was extremely pleased. The current rating reflects the fact the estimate visit could not be scheduled until over 2 weeks from the date I called--no constraints on my part. I cancelled the estimate and went with Crosstown whose excellent estimate and service were completed several days prior to what would have been Care of Trees estimate date.
