I called, was given an appointment and Steve showed up when he was supposed to. He was able to fix the water leak and to show me what caused it. The water dispenser was a bigger problem because he had to order a part. He told me before he did that how much it would cost for the part (it was expensive) and how much labor would be. The second time Steve came a few minutes early and installed the new part. He was professional and courteous. He even sang, "We are Siamese, if you please" to my Siamese cat.

I called 7 appliance repair people recommended on Angie's list. All said in their ads that they did work "in Chicago". Only 2 of them came to Hyde Park. I choose Appliance King and would call them again. I have mentioned then to several friends already. they came on time called back within an hour and were very pleasant to be around.

I was very impressed with the prompt, on-time service. Chris didn't have the required replacement part, but created a temporary opening from the freezer to the refrigerator to keep milk from spoiling until he could return with the replacement part. In a few days, he was back at the agreed time and put the new part in. Once again the refrigerator works as it should. But I learned that there is a lot of merit to the old fashioned refrigerators with a lever that can be moved to increase or decrease cold air inflow from the freezer, rather than the very expensive computer sensor with pump that failed prematurely and was so expensive to replace. If Chris ever decides to give up his day job, he could have a second career as a stand-up comic. He has a terrific sense of humor.

Prompt, on time and reasonably prices. Even the office lady was nice as well. A delight to deal. I will definitely use them again and I have referred them to others as well.

Gave about a 2 hour window, was prompt. Was thorough. Explained what he was doing and why. I was satisfied with job and cost.

They arrived within the 2 hour window they gave and they quickly found and solved both problems.

Great experience from the scheduling to the service call. Very courteous and responsive not to mention considerate regarding your time and schedule. I would definitely use them again.

Chris did an OUTSTANDING job with all my requests!!!! He worked quickly, he explained what he was doing and he gave me options with price variations. I was extremely impressed with his expertise and efficiency. I want to add that aside from the terrific job that he performed, he was hysterically funny and I never laughed so much during a service call! He was a delight to have in the house and Ive already used him a second time. Incidentally, he wasnt going to charge me for his second visit! He was not correcting a problem having to do with the first visit, he was just being a super, nice guy! I highly, highly recommend this company and no, Im not related to any of them!

When I called the representative flatly told me that no one could come out same day and she did not offer me any options. I have an immediate problem, and I left a message for them the night before. The answering machine said that they check their messages ofter and return calls. I did not receive a return call so I had to call again and the above answer is what I got. In my opinion not good service so I had to call another company that took my information immediately and called me back in 5 minutes with their arrival time.

Went well. Thorough analysis of job. Job was clean. Worker was courteous and helpful. I would call again.

They did an excellent job and got everything done quickly. They cleaned up well and Id recommend them to others.

I called for an appointment on a Monday morning and was able to get an appointment by Wednesday morning to fit my schedule. Chris arrived within the promised 2 hour window and was able to diagnose the problem and fix it within a short period of time. I would highly recommend this company.

The repairman came out the next day and did about a 45 minute evaluation. He ordered the parts, came back 3 days later, and fixed the dispenser. They had professional organization from start to finish, and the repair was clean.

Chris King (and company) acts like a company owner. Punctual, friendly, professional & thorough.

The person answering the phone was courteous and scheduled me for an appointment within 2 days. Chris came out promptly and diagnosed the problem. The transmission was jammed, and he was able to get it moving again. He also noticed that the belts were worn, so he replaced them. Chris also gave me some good advice on furnace maintenance. I am very happy with their service.

They came out the day we called to assess the problem. Unfortunately, the necessary parts had to be ordered, but they came back the day after the parts came in to do the work. Repair person was knowledgeable and courteous.

The woman whom I spoke to was extremely nice and very concerned and did her very best to get me the service as quickly as possible. She did a very excellent job of service.

Steve was professional and personable. He took time to explain and show me the work he was doing and how I could prevent problems in the future. He answered my questions about my dryer as well.

I called Abt first, the rep was nice and suggested that I clean the dryer vent first. After cleaning the dryer vent, dryer was still broken. Called Abt on Tuesday, but no tech available till Monday. Then called Appliance King for the dryer then called second time asking to replace thermal couple on water heater. Both ladies who answered the phone were very nice and knowledgeable, the older lady even called the tech to see if they can replace the thermal couple. Chris came out on Thursday. On time and fast. He was done replacing the coils before I cleaned out the lints. Chris definitely knows what he is doing. Very happy with the service.

I have used them in the past and they have been helpful, if perhaps a bit condescending. However, I called them first thing Monday morning to schedule a repair for my washing machine. The didn't return my call; I had to track them down. They set an appointment for two days later and then cancelled it half-way into my appointment window (for which I had to reschedule work obligations). They claimed they had an emergency and wouldn't be able to come for 3 more days. Since my family has gone without clean clothes for 4 days, I couldn't wait another 3. They were rude and made no attempt to try to accommodate an earlier appointment.

Appliance King sent someone (Steve) right away. He clearly explained, and showed what the problem was and what needed to be fixed. Ordered new part immediately and replaced it within 2 days. Was careful not to let water get everywhere and cleaned up perfectly. Gave tips on fridge care. Great service.
