Great service! I explained what need to be repaired over the phone. They asked for the model numbers, told me where exactly they could be found. They ordered the parts based on this information and only had to come out once. They repaired both appliances (dryer and dishwasher). We will use them for all our appliance repairs.

Overall it went great. Their service is great. We would use their services again in the future.

Based on Angie's List recommendations, I called Appliance King and was told that Chris would come by at 4:00 that afternoon. He showed up precisely on time and quickly diagnosed that the refrigerator needed a new computer. He happened to have a replacement computer in his truck. When I commented on this, Chris explained that this is a frequent problem with this model of GE Profile refrigerator. He swapped the computers, all the while carrying on an interesting conversation with me. The refrigerator is working fine now, and I am pleased by my experience with Appliance King.

Service man that made the repair was very meticulous and clearly was very knowledgeable bout about our stove and quickly replaced a few parts inside. He talked to us about how the pieces worked together and why the fix would work - and sure enough if did. Professional, quick, but a little pricey.

He was great. He was a really friendly and nice guy. I would use him again in the future if needed.

Discovered on a holiday Sunday that our 7½-year-old Kenmore "French door" refrigerator was not working. After consulting Angie's List, and printing off the $20 coupon, called Appliance King very early Monday morning, and left a message on voice mail. Received a call shortly after they opened at 9am, and they promised that a repair person would be out between 10am and noon that day! When he arrived, it didn't take him long to determine that the evaporator motor had failed. He called his shop, and reported to me that, while he didn't have the part in his truck, he did have it in stock back at the shop, a short distance away in Skokie. He advised the cost would be $239 installed. This sounded quite fair, so I gave the go-ahead. He was back in less than 15 minutes (one of the reasons I chose this vendor was his proximity -- it goes without saying that the first test was the overall "A" grade!), and the repair was completed shortly afterward. As he wrote up the invoice, he mentioned the Angie's List coupon, which I was about to, and when I presented it, he deducted the $20, for a net bill of $219. The entire call, from start to finish, diagnosis, part retrieval, and installation, took less than an hour. The work was neat, the repair person polite and competent, and as I write this a few days later, the refrigerator is keeping cold things cold, and icy things icy. Hooray for Appliance King, and for Angie's List!

These are honest and competent technicians who do excellent work. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. Wouldn't consider calling anyone else in future.

When our clothes weren't dry after a couple hours in the dryer, the wife and I knew something was up. I called the Appliance King the next morning, and the receptionist said there were openings the following day. I explained that by luck I was off work today, and she was kind enough to squeeze me into their schedule. The service technician, Chris, showed up within the time window quoted, and he set upon the machine. Within seconds of operating the dryer, he was able diagnose the problem. Over the next fifteen or twenty minutes, Chris opened the dryer, replaced the defective part, and closed it back up--all while maintaining a lively conversation with me. To sum it all up: great customer service, punctual, proficient, and professional.

Chris from the Appliance King said our dryer needed a new ignitor. Our dryer is in a difficult spot, and Chris did the diagnosis by himself. He said he'd get the part and complete the repair in a day or two. He never called back. I followed up with the Appliance King to learn they couldn't get the part. I had to order the part through Abt. When Abt came out, they said there's no way anyone could diagnose the dryer without moving it, which requires two people. I think Chris didn't want to deal with the repair and declined to say so. It was a big waste of my time. I have two small kids, so a dryer is key. If the Appliance King didn't want to do the repair or couldn't, I would have appreciated this information sooner rather than later.

Overall-5 star-would not use anyone else.

My year-old dishwasher wasn't cleaning the top rack of dishes. I called Appliance King for service, and lo and behold I got the SAME REPAIRMAN as I had from the days when he repaired my prior, old dishwasher. I love this guy -- he did his very best to keep my old washer alive, including giving me tips on ways to keep it going despite its decrepitude. This time, with my new washer, he identified the problem, fixed it all up, and told me all the things we should be doing to keep from having to call him in a year to repeat the work. It all involved rinsing better and keeping the door ajar when not in use, etc, only some of which I know will happen. But it wasn't like being lectured by the dental hygienist -- when I told him it was unlikely that I would be doing all those things and he would probably need to come back and repeat everything in a year, he took it well, laughed, and said that was my choice. I really like that he tries to make my repairs less frequent, but isn't judgmental when I don't take his advice -- such a rare quality. And most importantly, my dishwasher is working like new again!

There was a couple missing buttons on our dish washer and they wanted to replace the entire electric panel board. They said it was 400 bucks and I didn't think the washer was worth that much so we decided not to do it.

They are a reputable company. The work was fine, and I have had no complaints. I don?t recall anything negative about the experience; in fact, I think they were very pleasant, and I didn?t feel like I was being taken or anything. I was pleased with the price, and one of the reasons I would probably use them again is their price.

They were very good. They returned calls quickly and they were prompt for an emergency. The workers were courteous and professional.

He did an excellent job. He was very competent and very thorough. He can fix a wide variety of things. I actually had him come later to fix my dishwasher.

He makes great recommendations as well as does great repairs.

There was nothing in particular that stood out about them. The dryer is still working. They were friendly and professional as well.

I called in the morning when the break occurred. They set me up for the next day but my schedule was tight. They called back late afternoon and said he could come then. He came that same day, diagnosed and installed in about 30 minutes, and gave me the Angie's List $20 discount.

He carefully diagnosed the problem and asked me lots of questions. He tested for some simple problems then when he had the thing taken apart completely, he identified the trouble and replaced the part. Nothing extreme or unusual. Lady that I booked the appt with was very pleasant and they came on time.

The garbage disposal was an easy fix but the washing machine because of a design flaw was not able to be fixed.

They did a good job and I am happy with them. They are really prompt and they come real quick. They are honest and straightforward. They didn?t try to sell me any extra stuff.

I thought they did a fine job. They were responsive and I didn?t have to wait too long for them to come; they were here within a day or two.
