The painting job was done very well. They were neat and clean. My hardwood floors had no paint on them. I highly recommend Tapia's Works. Walter is great to deal with. He is very polite and listened to what I wanted. He always answered the phone calIs. I would do business with Tapia's Works again.

I first contacted Walter to explain what I needed done and that I could not be there during the job since I live Michigan. I made a trip over to meet him and discuss what needed to be done in person. Since the condo was vacant, I agreed to send him a key so that he and his crew could do the job. Once I selected the colors that we wanted, I e-mailed him the information. We kept in touch via e-mail and when the job was completed we agreed on a day and time when I could come over ( I am 2 1/2 hrs away) to inspect the job and complete payment. Walter was very accommodating to my needs and did a wonderful job; the place looks brand new!

Walter and his crew were amazing. Very professional, clean (they taped and laid plastic down on EVERYTHING!), and flexible. They were very respectful of our home and they did an excellent job painting and building the curtain boxes. They also were extremely patient, because as the paint was applied, we started changing our minds about the colors. Our test swatches weren't large enough to really give us a good idea of how the color would look once the entire room was painted. (Actually, we chose a grey, and as it turns out some greys have a blue hue to it. Ours definitely did, so the living room and 3 hallways in the house were like a grey-ish/purple periwinkle color. This was a pretty big issue because about 70-80% of the house was painted in this color...Walter was excellent. He worked with us to figure out the best way for us use what was left in the budget to repaint the main color. He also recommended a paint shop where we were able to get more support in choosing the right color for ourselves. In the end, we ended up have him not paint 2 of the rooms that we had originally contracted for, but instead had them repaint the main "public" areas with a new color that we are very pleased with. Walter's original quote was definitely affordable, and he communicated very clearly by sending us updated quotes along the way, as we added to the job throughout the course of the project. (Also, the additions were ones that we came up with and requested on ourselves. He was not upselling other tasks just to make the job larger.) Lastly, Walter and his crew were always on time. We never had to worry for a moment whether they would show up. Every morning they showed up precisely at 8:00 or 8:30AM (whatever time we agreed upon the evening before). They worked hard and consistently throughout the day. (We both work at home so we were there the entire time the work was being done). The crew was friendly and anytime we took a break, Walter and crew would be happy to show us what had been done, or answer any questions we had along the way. We would absolutely recommend Walter and his crew to anyone interested in painting their house...and we will be calling Walter again soon to help us with some additional projects we have in mind for the house.

The company's business description is very misleading. It says that they service the entire area including mine. I called him to come out and give me an estimate. After speaking with him, he asked me where I lived and then it seemed like he was starting to give excuses. He asked if I already had the wallpaper, and I told him that I wanted him to come see the area I wanted the wallpaper on first so he could give me an estimate. Then he mentioned that the wallpaper company should be able to do that. Finally he admitted that he just did not feel like coming this far south. I wish he would have just told me that up front, or that this was mentioned on their profile.

I chose Tapia Works based on Angie's List reviews, and was very pleased. I had just purchased a home and wanted it painted before I moved in. Walter and his crew were able to start within a few days of giving me a quote and the house looks excellent. They did need a couple days more than estimated, which delayed my carpet installation, but if I didn't have that flexibility they were willing to work extra hours to get it done on time. One thing to know is that they only use Benjamin Moore paint, unless you supply it. For me this meant matching all the Sherwin Williams colors I had picked out, which was a minor pain.

Walter came to look at the project and take the information for a quote in a timely manner. He provided the quote a day or so after he thought he would be able to but t was a thorough quote and he promptly answered a couple of questions I had about the quote and we set up a time to do the work. When it became apparent that he would not be able to start the work on the expected day, he promptly called me to notify me of that fact and we set up a new time. He and the crew showed up at the expected time to begin. They carefully moved furniture out of the way and covered the floors with plastic. The work was completed in the time given and they moved back furniture and dislocated rugs. I obtained Walter's name from a friend of mine who had used them and was pleased with their work. I also checked them out on Angie's List before calling for a quote. Being pleased with their work I have given his business cards to a friend and to the management company for my building so I guess it was a positive experience.

Excellent work by Walter and his team. Price as quoted. We have used Walter on more than one occasion and have never been disappointed. Refer his services regularly.

Walter and his family came in and took the time and attention to detail that matters when installing crown molding correctly. The finished product looks great and he even showed me some tricks of the trade. It was great hiring true professionals who care about their work and their stellar reputation. Will gladly refer them to anyone who needs this type of work done in the future.

I feel very fortunate to have found Tapia Works and we could not be happier with their results. The owner, Walter Tapia, was very pleasant to work with and wasextremely responsive and available - by phone, text and email. When I first contacted him, he came within a day and provided the estimate the next day. (This is in contrast to another painter on Angie's List I called who, after I took off work for the afternoon to meet with him, never showed up nor called!). I got into a quandary about what paint colors to pick and he was patient with my dithering. He and his workers always came exactly when they said they would which is a rarity. The painters (it is a family-owned business and I believe the painters are Walter's brothers) were pleasant to have in the house - very polite, tried not to be intrusive, cleaned up after themselves meticulously and went above and beyond in moving furniture and books. It can be hard to have so many workers in one's house for several days but they made it as pleasant as possible. I had been eager to have the work finished before Christmas Eve when company was expected so they finished up the job on that Satuday, rather than waiting until Monday - that was such a blessing! Walter's estimate was the lowest I received and was very reasonable for the amount of work done - 3-4 painters at a time steadily working for 3 1/2 days - and the materials used. The final bill came out to be a little above the original estimate which was quite reasonable as there were a couple of changes/add-ons. The quality of the work is exquisite. Everyone who has seen the new paint job has been so complimentary. I almost feel like I'm living in a new house!. I have already asked Walter for estimate for more work to be done in the spring - they also do decks and exterior painting. I look forward to working with him again. I truly think Tapia Works is one of the best, if not the best, companies we've ever had do work on this old house (and, believe me, there's been a lot through the years!). I am happy to recommend them wholeheartedly.

We will continue to use Tapia's Work. Walter provides great service, is always on time, very responsive, and the quality of work is top notch. The team doing the work is friendly and courteous and I felt very comfortable with them in the house. Really can't say enough good things about their service and quality and if their price continues to be competitive, I will most definitely continue to call Walter.

Days before our new window grilles were scheduled to be installed I noticed the lintels were in bad condition. The paint was alligatored and peeling. It was imperative that this be addressed and corrected quickly. I called Walter in a bit of a panic to see if he could find a way to help us out. Even though he was booked up Walter managed to pull off a miracle and get our project completed. The painter even worked in the rain to finish the prep work. The final product was flawless and beautiful. We were then able to move foward with the grille installation without delay. This is a contractor who genuinely cares about his clients and takes great pride in the quality of his work. I will certainly use Tapia's Works again and would recommend them without hesitation.

I couldn't have been happier with the work. Walter and his assistant were clean, courteous, and prompt. Their attention to detail was amazing. They spent about two days painting the three rooms. When I came home on the first day, there was paint on the walls, but condo definitely looked like a work zone. When I came back on the second day, you would never have known they were there. With the exception of some dust, everything was clean, and the walls looked immaculate. No drips, no spots on the ceiling, and nothing on the woodwork. I would hire Walter again in a heartbeat.

I recommend Tapia's Works and Walter Tapia, proprietor, unreservedly and with my highest recommendation. The work is absolutely gorgeous. Walter Tapia is a very refined person with an outstanding work ethic. Ipersonally wouldn't ever use anyone else now that I've had the "Tapia's Works" experience. I have never seen a more beautiful paint job. Seriously. And my father was a custom home contractor so I haveseen a few paint jobs in my day. Walter Tapia and his crew are absolutely meticulous perfectionists. There is not a stroke of trim paint which is streaky or a spot on the wall where the roller got dry.Nor is the paint globbed on anywhere. I would recommend them to paint most important mansion in Chicagoor the most significant public building. As well, of course, as the interiors of us common folks. Walter Tapia is a very nice, honest, decent person. He does what he says he will do. He is extremely responsive,has beautiful manners and is professional at all times. He is articulate and explains everything that will happen.They do not skimp on preparation, which is *key* to a good paint job. And they tape off and cover everything someticulously that I seriously could not find one speck of paint anywhere it was not supposed to be when theywere done. Sometimes people do not realize that a good paint job not only makes your space look beautiful (and we have allseen spaces ruined by bad paint jobs) but a good paint job will last a lot longer, protect the building better andbe a lot easier to re-paint when the time comes. Anyone can pick up a roller and call themselves a painter, unfortunately. And you may pay a little bit less (althoughit won't be a lot less at all). But there is no comparison between what you can get "off the street" and what you willget from Walter. Walter's work is an investment in your home as well as an enhancement to the aesthetics -- and weall have a lot of walls to look at. I don't recommend many tradespeople because everyone has their own taste in things but Walter Tapia I haveno reservations in recommending. There is no way you won't be thrilled with the work he does for you or notbe delighted with the personal interaction.

Walter is amazing! High quality of work, dependability, reasonable pricing. Very detail oriented so I was extremely satisfied with the paint job - and I am very "picky" as I have owned 2 houses in the past. I would hire his company again. He works with his brothers and everyone is very professional.

It went great from start to finish. I called Walter and we arranged a visit to see the area to be painted and provide a quote. He was prompt, professional and quick looking at what was needed and asking appropriate questions about the work and timing. He said he would email a quote within 2 days which he did. We selected his competitive quote from three because we liked him and it was clear he knew what he was doing and arranged dates. Walter and his brothers showed up on-time and spend the 1st day preparing everything. They then went to work painting and seemed to have a good time working together. It was clear it was going to be a quality job. When they finished, we reviewed everything and they cleaned up nice not leaving a trace. While not a large job, this was probably the best overall experience I've had with a contractor.

walter had trouble keeping the appointment for the estimate.he was very apologetic and kept in touch to let me know.when he gave me the estimate he was so sorry, so he discounted the price.He is a very nice fella and works with his brothers.Tapias did a very nice job. I would definitley reccomend.I liked working with walter and will have him return for future work...(assuming he is still price competitive.)

They were very careful covering everything so no paint would go on the floor. Great job, nice guys, on time, responsible. Definitely will hire them again. They offered us a good deal to install the TV on the wall and the job was excellent. They cleaned up everything after themselves. Great experience overall.

Walter and his brothers did an excellent job, I'm beyond happy! Walter is professional, friendly and his attention to detail is incredible. I'm getting ready to sell my condo and needed to have it freshened up. I had a total of three painters (including Walter) give me a quote, all of which were competitive, but decided to choose Tapia's Works because of the positive reviews on Angie's List. My condo now looks bright and clean. I will not hesitate to use Tapia's Works again and will recommend them to family and friends.

Walter came to make an estimate in a timely manner and we scheduled work immediately. As this was exterior painting and weather dependent, we were promptly notified in change of date. The crew arrived at our arranged time and went straight to work. They sanded, primed and put 2 coats on the areas painted. They worked efficiently. At the end of the job all materials were cleaned up and when they left it looked as if no one had ever been working in those spaces. This is the second time we have used Tapia's Works for painting in our home. Previously they painted the majority of the interior of our home. We would highly recommend using this company. They do excellent work and are meticulous about cleaning up. They are very personable and respectful of our family.

Walter and his crew did an outstanding job. The crux of the job was installing new crown and baseboard mouldings as well as painting the entirety of the inside of my 2-bedroom condo. The carpentry was smooth and seamless. The painting was done exactly as I specified and the end result was beautiful. When he was finished, my 80+ year-old condo looked brand new. I also asked him to do some handyman work, which was completed efficiently and without problems. Walter was very responsive throughout the process, keeping me informed with status reports and meetings. I would definitely hire him again, if needed, and would certainly recommend him to others for this type of work.

I am extremely pleased with the work done by Tapia's Works. I will use this service provider as much as I can for home projects that I need completed. They are very willing to be straightforward about which projects are not in their "wheelhouse" but Walter knows the experts and will find the best person in his network to get the job done.

I called Walter at night on a Wednesday, 2/16/12 and explained I needed my new condo painted as soon as possible. I explained I was moving in on 2/24/12. We met the next day, he brought a Benjamin Moore fan deck as requested, checked out the space and had an estimate to me that very evening. We agreed to the price and specs that Friday. He started the job on Tuesday, 2/21 because of the holiday my building does not allow contractors on holidays. Needless to say, Walter finished painting my apartment on Thursday, 2/23/12 (2 colors and 2 finishes). He actually had time to accomodate my additional request of changing the switchplates and older electrical sockets. I Enjoyed working with Tapia's Works and would absolutely use them again! Professional, timely, affordable and expert paint job.
