EXCELLENT SERVICE. INITIAL CALL LEFT ME COMFORTABLE THAT I WAS WORKING WITH A GROUP WITH ALOT OF PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE, INTERESTED IN ADDRESSING THE ISSUE AND LEAVING A SATISFIED CUSTOMER. QUOTE WAS PREPARED WITHIN DAYS, PHONE CALLS ANSWERED (NOT JUST RETURNED) AND REVISED QUOTE (REFLECTING MODIFICATIONS) PROMPTLY DELIVERED. WORK COMPLETED ON SCHEDULE, QUESTIONS ANSWERED ON SITE, PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. ALMOST 6 MONTHS LATER HAD DRIP THROUGH EXISTING SIDING, CREATING WATER ISSUE INSIDE GARAGE -- PHONE INQUIRY WAS PLEASANT AND PERSON ON SITE TO EVALUATE ISSUE WITHIN 2 DAYS, CAULKED AREAS AT THAT TIME. I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THEIR RESPONSIVENESS, THEIR PRICE WAS FAIR AND THEIR WORK SEEMED QUALITY AND THOROUGH. I WAS PARTICULARLY IMPRESSED WHEN I CALLED AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS AND STILL FELT LIKE I WAS A PRIORITY. GREAT COMPANY, WILL USE THEM AGAIN AND HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM TO OTHERS.

The entire process was smooth and efficient. Inclement weather delayed the actual start of the project. But Tan's Quality Roofing kept in contact with us. When the weather broke the work crew arrived shortly after daybreak and started tearing up the old shingles. The crew supervisor was on site to see that work started properly. Preparations were made to assure that debris would not accumulate on our or neighbors' yards. The crew worked diligently until nightfall, and resumed on the following day. By mid-day of the second day, work was completed; the area was cleaned up. The premises were exactly as before the work started, except that the house now has a new roof. Overall, we are very satisfied with the work performed, as well as with the entire business experience with Tan's Quality Roofing.

Tan's Quality Roofing was a pleasure to work with. Upon e-mailing about an estimate, they immediately responded and continued to do so in a timely fashion the entire time. They communicated effectively about what needed to be done. They listened to what I wanted and didn't try to pressure me to have any additional work done. The expectations were clear. Paul was a pleasure to work with and would definitely recommend him. The workers he sent out knew I was at home when they were performing the work and kept me updated on what they were doing.

Tan's Quality Roofing was the only company that returned our calls. Paul quickly responded to my call and was doing his best to help me out with very short notice. We didn't use his company only because the original installer finally got back to us with the info we needed. We will definitely call on Paul and his company first for any future work we need.

Great experience. Company was very responsive. Took the time to show us the problem and explain the fix. Told us that a fix was adequate and the roof was otherwise in decent shape when I asked whether a new roof was necessary. Work was only done a few weeks ago, but we've had a rain storm since then, and the repair seemed to have fixed the leak. I indicated n/a on price, only because I have nothing to compare it to.

They did a very good job. It was relatively problem free job. The price was reasonable. They cleaned up after themselves and were always on time.

My phone call was returned promptly. Tan's likes to use e-mail but they were happy to schedule my work by telephone. Someone came out the same day I called. He took a digital photograph of the problem and thoroughly explained why the roof was leaking and what work needed to be done. The work was done three days later. Tan's was neat, professional, and prompt. I will definitely use them again.

We were impressed by the level of communication from the start: promptly returned calls and emails from owner Paul Tansey and from estimator Tim. I had no response from two contractors, one who only could do the repair (we had come to believe that improper venting had contributed to our problem) and a competitor who could not do the work for about 5 weeks. We received a detailed proposal (the competitor provided only a verbal quote) and Tan's crew showed up 2 days after the proposal was accepted. Work was completed that day. Unfortunately the shingles on the repair were a bad match. We notified Mr. Tansey and after he took a look for himself they were replaced promptly. Communication and problem resolution are important in a business and too often lacking. I would not hesitate to re-hire this company.

The project went very well. Tan's performed the work in a timely fashion. Its representative, Paul Tansey, responded to each phone call quickly and courteously. The estimator arrived at the designated time, as did the workers, who had a professional work ethic. A question arose at the end of the project as to whether one of the bay roofs was part of the contract. Mr. Tansey quickly resolved the matter in our favor. We were highly pleased with Tan's and have already recommended it to a friend.

They were very attentive right from the start. When I called and asked for an estimate, they sent someone out right away, I did not have to be there and sent me a detailed estimate within a few days. When we decided to hire them, they did the work in one day and the roof looks great. I will be able to see how the roof holds up over the harsh winter, but it looks like a great job. It helps that Paul Tansey, was always there to answer questions. Very accessible.

From the time we called, it took about 2.5 weeks for an estimate, deciding to go with the contractor, and then having them complete the job. They completed the job in one day and it looks great.

Paul, the owner, was friendly, knowledgeable, returned calls, and was willing to work within our budget. Of the 4 contractors I talked to, Tan's beat all their estimates for the same work. Tony and his crew had the job finished in a day and left the site as clean as when they started. I was happy to find a local company and will definitely consider them when the house is ready for a new roof.

Everyone I dealt with was professional and responsive. We experienced a minor delay when the gutters weren't ordered or didn't come in time, but the roof was completed within a week of the promised date. They did an excellent job cleaning up the area, especially considering they were tearing off more than 3 inches of asphalt.

We have been attempting to contact many roofing companies to receive an estimate for roof maintenance. It has been very difficult to get companies out here during this time of year. Tan's was very responsive during the estimation process.

Amazingly good service! I called and the next day Tim came to see what was happening. Though it was raining, he went up on the roof, found the hole, and covered it up with a piece of plywood and plastic. This will stop any further damage to the house while we decide what we are going to do. Though Tim went up on the roof two times in the rain and spent almost 30 minutes working, he refused to take a payment. He said tell Angie's list about us. So now you know the best roofing company in the area is Tan's.

It took him a little while to get back to me but I really appreciated the care and thoroughness of his explanation. He really wanted me to understand what was going on and why he was going to advise me as he did. And I figure anyone who's going to turn down a paying job, saying I don't really need it, must be telling me the truth. Kind of like the rare mechanic who'll say ''There's absolutely nothing wrong with your car! Go with God!" I ended that conversation wiser than when I began, there's nothing like free advice. I'll certainly call Tan's roofing if I need them in the future.

Answered our call and sent a guy out to take pictures & give an estimate very quickly. He took the time to explain where the problem was & how he would fix it. The next morning, guys were there to do the repairs. They were quick, knowledgeable, & we haven't had a problem yet.

Excellent experience! We used Paul once before for a smaller job, but knowing how professional and honest he is, he was the only person we contacted for a quote to replace our roof. His team completed the job in 2.5 days, working from sunrise to sundown. They left the job site on the last day in immaculate condition and took care with our home and our neighbors's to make sure no windows or siding were damaged. We happily recommend Tan's to those looking for quality product and high level of professionalism.

Estimator came out and his first comment was, "Do you only want to repair the flat roof in back? Your main roof looks to be in bad shape." I replied that it was a slate roof, that it had lasted over 60 years so far with only minor repairs. His response was, "Oh, that's slate?" I cannot believe a roofer cannot recognize a slate roof, and was counting on my presumed naivet to sell me a new roof when one was not needed. Also, I had three bids on the roofing project, two with roofers I had used previously. Their bids for the same work were $1055 and $1435. Tans roofing proposed to charge me $1000 more than the low bidder (Tuscher in Oak Park who does quality work). So, if you are considering using Tans, by all means get competitive bids and make sure they don't try and sell you something that you don't need.

We ended up going with another company only because the other company recommended an additional repair that we felt was critical. Tan's Quality Roofing's Paul Tansy provided a timely estimate which seemed consistent with the other roofer's estimate. In addition, he emailed me the estimate and followed up. I think this company would have been fine; we just opted for what seemed like a similar estimate from someone else who was also recommended.

Very prompt in returning phone calls, setting appointment for estimate, & keeping appointment. The initial estimate did not address the ice dam issue. Paul called me to follow up & revised the estimate to include replacing the gutter in the problem spot with an oversize gutter & downspout. He did not add any additional cost for this work. After doing some research I didn't believe the oversize gutters would solve my ice dam problem & went with another company.

Excellent. Two teams came out to do the work, each specializing in a certain area.

Tan's Quality Roofing did a great job. They came out for an initial estimate, then more precise measurements. The windows came and the next day they were all put it. They look great and I am very happy with their work.

Another company told me I needed a tear off and wanted twice the price, but Paul Tansey assured me that he could repair it and provide a long warranty. Jose and the guys were courteous, prompt, and cleaned up. Tan's has done 2 other roof repairs for me at other buildings and I feel they were honest in their assessment of the work. No pushy salesmen either. Very good experience.

TAN's responded quickly to my request for an estimate. He responded with two estimates, one about $1600, the other $4370. He explained that my previous roofer had done a lousy job (confirmed by other estimates); the lower estimate was for minimal touch-up, and the higher estimate was for a new modified bitumen roof (without tear-off), including silver fibred emulsion paint. A few weeks later, I selected TAN's to do the more complete job, and the work was performed a few days later (completed in one day). After, I could not access the roof because the new hatch was stuck; after a little prompting, the hatch was repaired so that I could open it and examine the roof. It looks great! While only l time will tell how good a job it is, I'm happy right now and would recommend TAN's to anyone.
