Dealing with Tans was a smooth transaction from start to finish. Background: I cancelled my Satellite service in 2012, and the satellite service provider would not remove the dish, so it has been on my roof since then. The roof developed a leak because of the satellite dish, and so I reached out early this year for estimates to remove it and seal the leak. Tans' was one of three companies who I contacted for an estimate. They were prompt in providing the estimate, and it was very reasonable, but due to my own procrastination, this was put on the backburner for several months and the estimate expired. I contacted Tans' a week ago for an updated estimate, which they provided the next business day; the cost had not changed. I gave them the down payment two days ago (July 9), and they scheduled me in for yesterday (July 10); the work was completed same day. They were professional, cleaned up after themselves, provided me with pictures of the work and damage from the satellite dish, and did a nice job on the roof. I definitely would hire again, and I would recommend them to others.

Our condo association hired Tan's to do a roof patch in summer 2017. The patch failed in a few months. We had a lot of rain the following spring and leaks coming into the building. We asked Tan's to stand by their work, to come repair their failed patch. They refused to do so without charging us more money. We weren't about to pay them more when they failed to do quality work the first time, so we went with another company to repair the part of the roof Tan's should have repaired properly the first time. Do not hire this company. They don't do quality work, they don't stand by their work, and you'll just be throwing your money away.

They were very communicative and professional. The job appears well done also. they came when the were supposed to.

We have a free standing garage that has always had leakage issues through the concrete block. Several contractors have looked at it, but Larry and his crew finally figured out a way to resolve, which involved roof repairs, removing capstones and replacing flashing under them, etc. This also involved jacking up our pergola to access the capstones. It was a pretty involved process, but the leaking has stopped, and we're pleased.

Tans was great to work with from start to finish. From the initial estimate request, they were extremely responsive and detailed in their communication. Throughout the scheduling of the project and the work itself, Larry and his team kept me informed as to their progress and plan for completion. The work itself was top notch. The crew was impressively efficient, and made sure that a job that spanned over 5 days (including a break for rain), caused as little disruption as possible. There were a couple areas that required more repair than what were visible when the job was quoted, but the additional costs were reasonable and explained thoroughly before addressed. Great company in my experience all around, and I can't recommend them enough for their professionalism and communication throughout the project. It should be noted that the roof they replaced was likely not one of their easier jobs, as the attached picture shows. It is a steep roof with many angles to work around, and yet they completed the job within our budget and timeframe.

I called Paul on February 26 or 27 to request someone to inspect our roof for some potential damage. I told Paul I would be willing to pay for the inspection, because it would require a ladder in order to inspect, but he indicated he would have someone come out for free when they were in the neighborhood. Someone came out on February 28 and did a ground level inspection. They did not look at the roof. A week later, I received an estimate to repair a vent at ground level. This was neither what I asked for or what I needed and, now, I still have not had the roof inspected. When I called Paul and explained, he told me that when they came out to fix the vent (which, to my knowledge, was not previously broken) they would have someone get up on the roof and do the inspection. When I reminded him that I had been willing to pay for the inspection initially, Paul got irate and started screaming at me on the phone that I don't get to tell other people what to do. I eventually ended up hanging up on him because it was clear that I wasn't going to get anywhere with him and I don't care to work with people who want to scream at me.

It went great. They were prompt professional and responsive. I would recommend them.

It was a pleasure to work with Tan's. We had damage to our roof after a recent wind storm and while a small project, Tan's was very responsive and did a great job. Many companies and contractors will not give you the time and attention for smaller jobs, so this was appreciated. I was very satisfied in every aspect of working with this company: communication, scheduling and the actual work performed. Will use again if needed and highly recommend!

It went wonderful. Larry Tans and his team were complete professionals. Being that we are a small 8 unit self managed condo building, Larry worked around our schedules and made sure that his workers stayed on the project. He was very communicative before, during and after the work was complete keeping us informed of what was going on. He worked with us to give us a fair price on the entire project and we were more than pleased with the final project. All in all, I would strongly recommend Tans Roofing to anyone, and I know we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Excellent. They advised to install a vent system at the peak of the roof to prolong life of the roof and so far so good.

In 2014 I spoke to the people at Tan's, and ended up hiring somebody else because they said they could do it for cheaper. Tans recommended that we replace our entire roof instead of putting another layer on, which would be more expensive. Biggest mistake of our lives. We spent $14,000 putting another layer on our roof with another company, only to need it replaced three years later. So, the first place I went was Tan's and they were great. We now feel confident that our roof will last for years and years without any leaks. Wish we had done this in the first place. You pay for what you get and with Tan's, it's a quality job from people who know what they are doing. We highly recommend.

Larry, the owner, has looked for every other possibility, including sealing, brick work, satellite dishes, .... - you name it, except his own work. All he did is blaming others in every way possible to avoid his own responsibility. Before the roofing work, our basement never leaked. Immediately after his roof work, it started leaking. Larry continues to ignore this fact and continues his effort to deny his own responsibility. Avoid hiring this company. Period!

TANS Quality Roofing came out and inspected our tall, steep roof (other contractors said that they could not handle the job). They found the leaks right away. Their estimate was reasonable, we paid 50% upfront. They repaired the damages quickly and professionally, and for less than their original estimate. They did a great job photo documenting the damages before and after the repairs to help us file our insurance claim. We plan to have replace our roof and will definitely use TANS Quality Roofing. Highly recommended.

We got someone out for an estimate quickly, and I had a proposal contract within a few days. Price was reasonable. They actually came to do the work earlier than scheduled, due to weather concerns, which was fine by me. Turned out that it wasn't a gutter issue really, but the porch footings had sunk. They raised the footings and added support, and only added $130 for the extra labor! I thought this went above and beyond. They also did work on the roof lead boot flashing repairs) as promised.

Very detailed and responsive was my first impression. They have good reviews.

Ultimately, we ended up choosing a different roofing company due to cost differential along with a neighbor's referral. That said, if the estimation process was any indication, I am sure they would have treated us well and provided quality work if we would have hired them.

I called, they answered and set up a time for an estimate. The man showed up on time and looked at the job I needed done. I was told I'd be sent an estimate via email. Never received an estimate, made sure to check junk mail as well. Guess the job was too small to bother with. Too bad because someday I might have a big job that needs to be done.

Went well. A few hiccups with scheduling and workers overly eager to get the job going without the actual materials, but they started and finished within a day. They cleaned up afterward, and were courteous, and when I asked them to get into the attic spaces from the inside of the house, they obliged and took pictures from both the roof and the attic area.

Tans' was one of the best contractors I have ever worked with. We needed to replace a leaking roof on our garage, which had been neglected for awhile and thus was showing rot and mold and leaks in many places. The garage had a roofdeck and pergola attached and so that all needed to be removed and put back, making the job unfortunately much more time consuming, difficult, and expensive. Most of the cost of replacement was in all the extra labor to disassemble and put back the deck, pergola, and benches. During the course of the work, additional damage was found that wasn't anticipated but they were open and communicative of the extra costs necessary at all times. I was shocked that the work could be done over the course of only a few days, minimizing the disruption and allowing us use of the deck for the upcoming summer. Immediately after signing the contract for the garage, I noticed that we had a leak on our house too and discovered missing shingles on the roof. They had someone out the next morning and fixed it immediately even before the garage work started. Great service! Would definitely recommend them for a project of this nature or any roof work for house or garage.

Took me over a month to get an estimate as every time I called, they acted as if they had never heard from me and took my information over and over. I had to call at least 4 times just to get the estimate, several calls to get an update on the estimate even after they called me to confirm that they would be sending someone to look at my roof and provide an estimate. Even after all of this trouble, I still decided to use them as their estimate was the most thorough and complete. However, my experience with them and their lack of responsiveness continued even after I sent a signed contract and my downpayment for the work to be completed. It took almost a month for them to schedule and finish the repairs to my roof. Again, it took several calls and emails to get them to schedule. In all fairness, I have a steep pitch to my roof and one time the work was scheduled, there were high winds and it would have been dangerous to be on the roof. I would never want to put someone in a dangerous situation. That said, the next time the work was scheduled, the roofer showed up at 1:30pm in the afternoon and told me that he didn't have enough time to finish that day and would like to come back the next day (he didn't). I was then told that they would show up two days later, only to be told that the foreman had a personal conflict and they would need to reschedule again. It took several more days, and a couple more emails to get the work scheduled again and this time they finally completed the work. It took less than 3 hours, and included installing some flashing around my chimney that was not included in the original estimate.
