Tans was great. I had estimates from other roofers, but didn't feel nearly as confident in their analysis of our our problems. The owner came our house, took pictures of the issues, sent us an estimate and allowed us to choose whether we wanted to do add on's. They installed a far superior flat roof than the previous one we had. The crew was very nice and stayed late into the evening to finish the entire job in one day. I would definitely recommend tans and will use them for all my future roofing needs.

These guys are incredibly professional and easy to work with. I can't say a negative this about the experience. The were prompt, worked weekend to get project done due to flooding rains on prior weekday (and they asked if that was o.k. in advance). They also worked with animal management at Smithereen (also got reco from angie's list) to ensure no squirrels were trapped in the eaves. I kiddingly asked the foreman to remove the overgrowth of ivy on the chimney (about 30 ft. off the ground) and came home to find it gone!! They also worked to patch an antique copper downspout rather than replace. I appreciated their not trying to sell me a new one.

Contacted the company for a quote on a tear off roof and new gutters. They were the first to respond by coming out for an inspection but the last to submit a quote. I finally had to call them to get the quote. Their quote was highest of the three. The job was theirs to lose because I was impressed with the person who came out to do the inspection. After reviewing the three quotes, we wanted to give them a chance to be a little more competitive and we needed a few questions answered. I left them a voicemail and sent an email but they never responded. We went with another company.

The proposal included services that are not necessary and do not exist relative to my house. The proposed price was 40% more expensive than two other well-regarded Angie's List service providers.

I called Tan's Roofing for an estimate on a complete roof tear off in addition to repairing my damaged gutter which was creating a hazard for my next door neighbor. During the estimate process, the estimator leaned out of the second story window, counted the number of roof coverings on my roof and to my surprise promptly wipe his muddy hands on my freshly painted window sill! During the estimate process for the complete roof tear off, I asked the estimator to remove certain aspects of the proposed work from the proposal and was told they would be leaving some of the requested deletions in the quote! (Sliding of dormer with aluminum sliding). The roofing company that did the job slided the dormer with roofing shingles at no additional cost.

I was impressed with the entire experience. When I emailed regarding getting an estimate, I got an immediate response and was easily able to set up a time. They spent a lot of time inspecting the roof during the estimate and explaining various elements. The quote was very specific - detailing warranties not only on the shingles, but also other elements like the caulking compound. I liked the fact that there was some replacement of damaged/rotten decking included in the quote, since that is an element of the project that would be unknown until tear-off started. After signing the contract, the crew was able to start work quickly. Several days before the project started, the foreman came to the house to review everything. Due to very strong winds (30 mph), the second day of the project had to be postponed and I was notified immediately regarding the delay and the fact that work would resume the next day. The project was finished in two days. The crew did a great job - the roof and gutters look terrific. The clean-up was excellent. Was very impressed with overall communication and promptness throughout the project It was a painless project and the house looks ten times better!

Tans reviewed the roof and advised that we would need to replace approximately 80% of the roof, that the roof was incomplete, the damage extensive, water was getting down to the plywood, and that they would email us an estimate shortly (which we have not yet received). Tans never examined the water damage on the inside. Their advise directly contradicts with estimates we received from two additional roofing companies who could not find where any water was getting into the roof or around the exhaust fan and advised that the damage around the exhaust fan is most likely caused by condensation, not a leaking roof. Neither of the two additional roofing companies could find any evidence of the extensive damage that Tans purportedly believed needed to be corrected and could not fathom providing an estimate based on replacing 80% of the roof. I would not recommend using or calling Tans. I don't know if I received a "female special" estimate, but the lack of professionalism shown by this company in this instance makes me seriously question their reputation.

We found Tans quality roofing thru Angies list. They feedback on this Company convinced us this was the way to go. We are extremely happy with the job done. And feel very confident if there would be a problem they would address it quickly

Tans' Roofing demonstrated a "strong suit" in customer service. Their knowledgeable personnel met with me whenever I requested, immediately responded to all telephone calls, and also made effective use of e-mail communications. This is not an "average" roofing contractor. The price was very competitive and they did an excellent job...period. Their reputation for excellence is well deserved. TQR were the ultimate professionals. They were very cognizant to start the job when the weather was dry as to not void the warranty on the roofing material and completed the work in a timely manner. I was amazed they did not even need to enter the house, carrying off the rooftop deck and the furniture I left stored on the deck over the side, then replaced it after the work. They did an extremely thorough job, even disassembling my sliding door to make sure it was water tight. Low and behold the roof did not hold water when they were done!

The job went well I found working with the Tans' Quality Roofing was an easy one for me .Both Larry and Paul Tansey were professional and very knowledgeable. They answered all my questions and returned my phone call promptly. The contract reflected my angie's list discount. Yes, I would use them again and they,also, sent me a thank you card saying they appreciated the business.

The garage roof needed to be repaired and sealed. I compared reputation and pricing among three possible roofing companies and chose TQR. I dealt with Larry and Adrian and found them to be very responsive, professional, and courteous. The team that did the work was the same. Despite the very cold weather, they finished the roof in one day and left the work area spotless. I would recommend them to others.

The Tansey's were professional, responsive and thorough. The project would seem to be pretty straightforward, except that the original 100+year-old wood shingle roof was underneath several layers, along with rotted decking. It was a mess, including inside one storage closet in my attic where the roof/insulation are exposed. The job ended up being much more than originally contracted, but at every step along the way, work did not proceed on the extra damage/repairs until I signed off on it. I appreciated the thoroughness and the high quality of the work. I marked them down slightly for professionalism because I had to contact the Tansey's a couple of times when the workers left before completing clean-up and other work. In each case, Paul Tansey came out to inspect the work and agreed that it was incomplete, and brought the workers back.

Tan's Quality Roofing did a superb job in every way. This job was not easy to accomplish yet they worked expertly and diligently. When the weather turned bad they ensured that the necessary precautions were in place until they could come back on the roof the next day. They always kept us informed and did a great job cleaning up. Importantly, the crew kept our neighbors happiness in mind as they had to stage some materials in their backyard (with permission we had gained). Paul and Larry are great to work with and hire terrifc crews to do the work. We highly recommend them.

Unlike another company that did a drive-by estimate, Tans wouldn't give an estimate until they brought out a ladder to do a close visual inspection. I've used Tans earlier for a roof replacement and knew they would be professional.

We were pleased with the work they did. When they were doing the work they discovered couple of other problems as well in the roof and they came back to patch them up. They explained to us what they were doing, and they worked very thoroughly on the project.

Santa brought us bedroom ceiling leak two days before Christmas. Paul came out on Christmas Eve, ( in awful weather) inspected the problem, gave us a clear written proposal and managed to start the work right after Christmas ( again despite the weather) No hidden charges,excellent workers and a job site left clean. We couldn't have asked for more. We were very satisfied.

Company was very responsive to phone call & sent out someone to do an estimate right way. Squirrels were coming into the attic through holes in the roof. TQR gave us an estimate and completed the work within days. I highly recommend this company.

A representative of Tan's came out to our townhouse on a Saturday with less than 2 hours notice to provide us with an estimate. Once the work began, the company worked efficiently and with minimal disruption to our lives. The work was completed on time (weather permitting) and was done in a professional manner.

We contacted Tans' for an appointment/estimate. Within one week we heard back and scheduled the appointment within another week. We promptly received a bid via email a few days later. Due to weather conditions our job was slightly delayed, and notice of appointment changes were sent to us via email the day of. Once the work was under way, the crew arrived on time and was very professional. So far so good on the work that was done!

Everything was great, they were very responsive. The workers were prompt and courteous and they cleaned up nicely afterwards. They also came back out with a follow up which was great as well.

TQR was one of the roofing companies I called this year to inspect my roof and give me a proposal. Each company rep was told what I wanted to be done to my roof: stripped / recovered with a white roof / limestone uncovered / new gutter system. In October I went to the Bungalow show in Chicago and found out that uncovering and NoT recovering limestone was bad for the limestone. I recall Paul stating to me that uncovering and counter-flashing under the limestone would be a detrement to the limestone. We discussed this and also the type of white roof and the gutter system. My suggestion to anyone reading this is to do your homework before you talk to a company to get an idea of what you want and listen to their return comments and suggestions. Like Paul did with suggestions for my limestone. I'd done my research by looking on the internet and went to places to see the products. I was now satisfied with my selections. He rewrote the proposal. The end result was that the work I wanted done was done to my satisfaction. The foreman explained to my wife what was being done and then to me when I got home. While Paul was away, Larry Tansey came to my house to discuss the work and we kept in phone contact. After the work was completed, we resolved the payment and further work in the spring of 2010. Being a consumer, this is the way I would want to be treated, like the building was theirs. This is why I would recommend them. I was quoted a less price for similiar work but what sold me was his verbiage on my limestone. If you are not in dire need, research the options for the job. Know how your residence can be better than other type houses in your area. In this economy, this can be the difference between a customer buying your home or your neighbors. I have hired 3 companies that are highly rated on AngiesList for: Tuckpointing/Roofing/Outside-door refinishing. I found them without AngiesList but used the listing to help verify my findings and it was worth it.

Paul Tansy was prompt and knowledgeable in answering questions and gathering information to provide a quotation. He actually climbed up onto the roof to evaluate it and took digital pictures to show us problems. His quotation was the most detailed of any we received. We had many questions about a venting system, and received different recommendations from various contractors. Paul was the only one that tied his recommendation back to the requirements of the shingle manufacturer to insure their warranty was not invalidated. Work was started promptly upon signing the contract, the workmen finished up a day early, and the job site was cleaned each day, We chose Tan's Roofing to do the work, even though they were the most expensive, because we felt sure that we would be getting a quality job with quality materials and we were not disappointed.

The whole experience was positive. They responded quickly for the estimate. The estimator was thorough, including getting out his ladder and going up to the roof for what he already knew would be a pretty small job. They got back to me in a timely manner, and when hired, scheduled me quickly. They arrived when they said they would, did the job, and left the area clean. It appears, after two weeks, to be a quality repair. Next year I plan on replacing my entire roof, and I am confident enough after this little job to include them in the bidding process.

They gave us an excellent proposal. They did the work in a very timely manner, with excellent quality of work. There was a slight problem during the work which caused some slight leakage. They immediately sent people out to repair where it had damaged. They did not charge for that. They worked very closely with us on payment of the bill which we appreciated. They gave us excellent advice throughout the process. This is the 4th time I have used their company in the last 10 years and have always been satisfied.
