My experience with Tans' was excellent overall. They were professional, courteous, and prompt at every stage of the process. The estimate was very thorough. They communicated constantly throughout the process and proactively communicated schedule changes due to weather. The crew performing the work was very knowledgeable and professional. The quality of the work appears to be excellent. They encountered a couple unexpected issues that were not anticipated in the original estimate (one of my skylights needed to be replaced because the frame had rotted) but the Tans' team was able to react with remarkable speed - presenting me with options, obtaining the replacement, and keeping the project on schedule. The overall experience was one of the best I have ever had with any contractor.

They cam when they said they would. And they were flexible, given the unexpected complications of the job.

They did a wonderful job as usual, cleaned up the area very well and took photos to show us what they did. they were on time, finished on time and treated our property with respect. Great roofing company - wouldn't use anyone else!

Tan's did a fantastic job with the work. They were extremely efficient from start to finish. They were very professional with their upfront quotes (and competitively priced), and with the work on the roof. During the work, they discovered two major issues with the roof (sagging joists and significant issues with the bricks in the front parapet). They were very clear with us at the time on the worst case costs, which we agreed to cover as needed. However, what really stood out to us was that when they completed the fixes, they only charged us for the amount of work required, which was 3x LESS than what they quoted! I'm not a roofing professional, and I would have had no way of knowing what the work had really cost them. Given that, I found it to be incredibly honest that they would charge us what the work was worth despite us having agreed in writing that we would pay more. They other thing that stood out was the speed with which they completed the work. Their team works HARD. They were already started when I left for work at 7am, and they were still working when I got home at 8pm. They knocked the entire job out in a few days, which was much better than I expected.

Did not do business with them. They asked for a 50% deposit before they would schedule the work and this was not acceptable to me.

TQR was professional at every step of the way, from answering my initial call to sending the final invoice. They did a nice job of letting my parents (who are elderly and live in the house) know when they would be working. They cleaned up all of the mess. I would very highly recommend them.

I would never use this company. The owner was rude to me over the phone describing the previous work on my roof to be shoddy and unprofessional. He spoke to me in a completely rude, disrespectful and condescending manner. I found him to be impatient and unpleasant.

They are courteous. When we found out that there was a problem with the foundation of the roof, they gave me a new estimate and were flexible with the payment plan to allow for me to pay off the extra costs.

Tans' was very professional from the get go. Several different sections of roofing of our condo building needed to be replaced and Tans' worked with us one section at a time. They were prompt with the bid, thorough in the work, job was completed in a timely fashion, and they cleaned up after themselves. Best of all, we haven't had any leaks in the last year!

After a consultation with a home inspection service last fall, it was recommended that while the roof overall was in pretty good shape, I might want to have the areas where it joined, the valleys, looked at and repaired as needed. I did start to have some isolated leaking at various times that seemed to match up with those areas, so called Tans' Roofing and they gave an estimate some repair work. I also asked for the quote to include cleaning of the gutters and securing of the hole where squirrels were coming in at the same time, and they were able to do everything and I was pleased with the work.

I contacted Tan's Roofing to inquire about an estimate for my mother's home. I am a member of Angie's List. I contacted Tan's on August 30, 2011 and an appointment was scheduled for September 8, 2011at 7am. I agreed to this although this would require me to leave the scheduled appointment and rush to work. I did tell Tan's at the time of making the appointment that I would need to get to work before 8:30am. I asked for a Saturday, but they said that was not available. On the morning of September 8, 2011, I left home at 6:30am to ensure that I would arrive on time. I arrived at my mother's home at 6:57am. I waited until 7:12am. No one from Tan's arrived or called to say that they were not going to make the appointment. NO ONE FROM THIS COMPANY HAS CONTACTED ME TO THIS DAY TO STATE WHY THEY DID NOT SHOW UP! I suspect that because of the area of the city where my mother lives they were not comfortable in coming there. That being the case I would rather that they had refused outright, perhaps stating that this was not an area of the city that they did not service. I could have respected them more for being upfront about this, rather than making the sppointment and then not showing up.

During the project, we found asbestos and needed someone qualified to handle the job. Tans sent a guy down to the city and had him certified to handle abestos. Tans really went out of the way to do the job and were competent and thorough.

Very responsive and great communication with entire team...!

They were on time (8:00 A.M.) and working continuously (30 minute lunch) until finishing at about 3:00 P.M. Just ahead of a 4:00 rain. They cleaned up pretty well after themselves in the yard and garage.

They were professional from start to finish.

We contacted Tan's after they did a fantastic job installing a new roof a few years ago. As always they called back immediately and came out with a day to look at the job site and provide an estimate. The quote was about what we were expecting and scheduled the work. The guys were at my house a few days later at 8am as promised and done within an hour and half. They cleaned up the area inside the attic and outside around the house, hauled away the old ventialtion system and were very professional. Tan's has now installed 5 of my neighbors roofs and I will continue to recommend them and sing their praises!!!!!!

Roger came out just as promised on time to give an estimate on a new roof on my garage. I did get a second estimate, and although the price was exactly the same, I went with Tans' Quality Roofing because they seemed more experienced and their office is right in the neighborhood, so if I had any residual problems, I could drop by. Larry is very knowledgeable and reasonable to work with. It did take a little while for us to set up an appointment even after I gave a 1/2 total deposit, but that's because this is a pretty busy time of year for this kind of work. They couldn't finish in one day (a Friday) as they expected because once they took off the several layers of old shingles, they needed to repair and replace several feet of decking and rafters which added another $284 to the original $2,800 estimate. They also added venting/ However, before they did any of the additional work, they let me know. They came back on Saturday at 9 a.m., but they were done by noon. They cleaned up outside and inside my garage, and it looks great. I would definitely use them again, but truthfully, I doubt that my garage roof will need replacing for many many years! Highly recommended.

Tan's Quality Roofing was the first estimate I received and Larry was my estimator. Needless to say, I was surprised to see the owner of the company doing a routine estimate, but that was the kind of service that I received from a family owned business. Larry was honest and upfront about the situation, it's potential costs and provided me with a detailed description about what the work was like. When I decided to hire Tan's, they were prompt with scheduling a crew and completing the work. The crew was professional, fast paced, and did an excellent job cleaning up. All together, Tan's customer service, from Larry, the owner, on down through the office staff to the work crew was pleasant, honest, and willing to work with me at every step of the way. I know I'll need to replace my roof in the next couple of years and Tan's Quality Roofing will be foremost on my mind.

The original start time of the project was delay by a month, but that was due to the unusually large number of storms in the Chicago area this summer. Tran's Roofing did notify me of delay's in the project. Over all Tran's Quality Rooking was a good experience and I would recommend them other's in need of roof repair or replacement.

The brick workers came on time and did the job I expected. The roofers also did the job as I needed. Any concerns I had were addressed by Larry. Communication is a big part of a job and TQR did that. Thanks TQR.

THE EXPERIENCE WAS EXCELLENT WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE

In summer of 2010 I received many bids from roofers recommended on Angie's List. Initially I went with another roofer because he had the best price by far and he offered to do the most work (there was a split in bid suggestion where a large group suggested taking down the dormers' siding to best protect the roof with ice/water shield that Tans did not recommend). Tans was the most expensive bid by far, but promised top quality. However, the day before my chosen roofer was to begin the job a neighbor refused to do what every bidder required -- which was to allow the roofers to protect their lower and super close roof in case of an accident. Not surprisingly the other roofer begged off from the job until the neighbor came to her senses. So I went the winter with leaks and re-approached many of the bidders in the Spring 2011 with the new facts of the situation. At that point Tans was confident that they could get the job done one way or the other, but had to come out one more time to re-evaluate the bid under the new circumstances. This was a very stressful time since I had multiple leaks and was fearing that I would have to take my neighbor to court if a roofer wouldn't take on the job. In the end Tans never came out again to review their bed. In the end the roofer I originally chose came up with a great solution to bypass the neighbor and did a great job.

They did a great job and I would use them again.

They were punctual for the estimate process, but were a bit expensive. I may not use their services in future.

They were scheduled to come out one day, but canceled due to weather, which really wasn't all that bad. We rescheduled, but they called at the time they were supposed to arrive to say that they had to cancel due to not having a tall enough ladder, and that it was too windy. The next day, they showed up unannounced, but again, without the proper ladder. We rescheduled again. We decided that we did not want to work with them, so we called to cancel and the person we spoke to was very rude and hung up on us!
