Larry and Ryan’s team did a phenomenal job. They were the the only company to find what the issues were with my constantly leaking roof when other companies in the area seemed dumbfounded as to what the issues might be. What also set them apart from other roofing companies was their ability to remove and reinstall the deck. It saved me a lot of work trying to find another contractor just to handle my deck. With Tans it was a one stop shop, which I really appreciated. I also appreciated their transparency in regards to pricing. There were no surprises. The best part of all of this, is that we’ve really tested the roof the last month or so with really heavy rainfall in the area, and we have no issues. A great job by the Tans team.

The company provided great service the entire time from discovery stage, to inspection to work performed. They were responsive during the entire process. In fact, the company was recommended to us and we in turn recommended to our neighbors.

Repairs were completed in less than 1.5 days. Neighbors were shocked how quickly and efficiently repaid were completed. Larry made sure to address all my concerns and was the only company to address air circulation issues with roof edge vents since my home was built without soffits. Also provided solar skylights with automatic shades that raise or lower either by remote, phone app or automatic based on weather. If sun is strong and it is hot out they automatically lower 75% to keep rooms cool. Love them!

Tans' staff was punctual, efficient, and did this job in the middle of winter! They correctly diagnosed the source of the slow leak when another company did not.

We had gotten estimates from a few roofing companies six years ago, Tans' included, for a full roof replacement and wound up going with another outfit at a significantly lower cost. We originally it looked pretty good. However a few months later one of the new pieces ripped in half and blew off and they blamed global warming and would not warranty their material or work.

I could find only one other roofer willing to tackle this job. He was 20% higher and would have had to shave off 8 inches of eaves to make space for overhanging gutter. Larry had obviously dealt with very complicated jobs such as this one, immediately devised a plan for internal trench gutters that would require no overhang. Once begun, the job was completed in less than a week. Crew of 10 was very professional and well organized. Spectacular work! I told Larry my only regret was that he didn’t do work that didn’t involve roofing. Before you sign with another roofer, I urge you to give Tans Quality a call. True professionals. Honest, very reasonably priced, superb in all respects!

Tans did a terrific tuckpointing job on our 3 story condo building. They submitted an itemized bid-pointing out areas of immediate concern, which helped the Condo Board prioritze. The work crew showed up on time every day and cleaned the area after leaving-each day. The brick work matches the existing pattern/color and repaired the structural issues. The office was great in scheduling the job, answering our questions and keeping us informed. We highly recommend Tans!

Tan's Quality Roofing did an outstanding job replacing the flat roof on the back of our house. Our single layer membrane roof was replaced with an insulated modified bitumen roof (commercial grade). The bid clearly stated the work to be performed. All work was completed as stated and the price did not exceed the quoted amount. The site was thoroughly cleaned up at the end of the job. I was able to observe the work and the attention to detail during the installation was impressive.

When I first reached out to Tans to do a complete tear off and new roof for both home and garage they were great and extremely responsive. Whenever anyone asked me if I knew good roofers I always recommended TQR. That was before I had them replace my chimney. That scenario has been nothing but disappointing to say the least. In April of 2018 I had TQR (Tans) come out and rebuild our chimney as we were seeing minimal signs of water leakage. They came out walked around our attic and provided us with a proposal. Having experienced the quality of their work with the roofs it seemed like an easy choice. They rebuilt the chimney. I sent them an email early January of 2019 voicing concern that there seemed to be a leak coming from the chimney. Two weeks went by and I reached out to them again as I’d not received a response. It took almost 2 more weeks before I finally heard from anyone at which point I was told I would be put on a list for them to come out and inspect what they thought was a probable condensation issue when the weather warmed up. My response to that was its worse now than before we had them rebuild the chimney. Fast forward to mid-August, I’ve now sent a 3rd email asking when someone would be reaching out to me about this as the leakage continues to worsen. I got a response that same day saying they would have someone call me to schedule an appointment to come out. We’re now into September and the only thing we have to show for this last experience with TQR (Tans) is drywall damage in multiple rooms that we can’t get fixed until the chimney issue is resolved. I told them that in my emails but it’s obvious that’s not relevant. I’m waiting for them to send me an email telling me they can’t come out now because it’s too late in the season. The cautionary tale here is just because you hire a company and they do really well on one project, buyer beware if you go back for something else. I’m not sure I can trust them at this point to be honest about what is wrong with our chimney as it got worse after the rebuild.

Tans Quality Roofing has worked with us on several projects. They have always been very fair in their pricing and excellent in their quality. Best of all, their customer service is fantastic.

Tuckpointing was needed on the west side of a 6-flat walk-up building and below windowsills on the front of the building. Repair was also need on the east and west side parapet walls, accessible from the roof. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time (approx. 2 weeks due to rainy weather in June). The price was extremely reasonable. We got quotes from 2 other places as a comparison and they fell into the middle; however, we chose TANs because we've worked with them in the past and have always been happy with them. Additionally, the price was less than anticipated. PLUS the quality of the work they do is excellent and their clean-up is excellent as well. TANs is easy to work with and good communicators. We did not encounter any problems with this project and are extremely happy. We would definitely work with them again.

Tans' was extremely professional and did great work. We had a couple of minor issues with confirming the scheduling for the work, but they were easily resolved and I'm very pleased with the end result. I'd definitely work with them again if the need arises!

We had a bad roofing job done a few years ago, which in conjunction with (pre-existing?) flashing problems caused a leak. Wasted years trying to get it diagnosed and repaired, and despaired of finding a decent contractor. Eventually stumbled into TQR, who responded quickly with an estimate, and then started the job soon after that. The roofers worked like crazy for a long day, and then part of the weekend, removing our deck, replacing the roofing and repairing joists, while their associated mason spotted and corrected some issues. The deck was put back soon after that, all done in less than a week. TQR kept us posted all along the way, with plentiful photos of every step, and communicated well with my wife, who functioned as on-site supervisor. Most importantly, they found what the root problem was, and addressed it. Would definitely hire again (but hopefully I won't have to for a long time!), and would recommend to my friends.

There was a problem with blistering. They came back out and reviewed the issue and re-coated the roof with a different product and no additional charge. Very professional.

Larry and his team were over the top communicative & professional. When they opened up the roof, they found more damage than expected, sent photos and gave a fair quote to do the other work. His team in the field, including foreman, were kind, clean and cared about their craft. I would hire them again in a minute and would recommend them to anyone looking for any/all things roofing.

The existing flat rubber roof was showing sign that it would need to be replaced. We also had a small leak around a vent pipe. Tans provided an estimate which was in the upper middle of the quotations that we received. However his communication about what was needed and why far exceeded all of the other contractors that we spoke with. Many of the contractors that we spoke with did not inspire confidence and actually seemed a little shady. Tans acted promptly upon our signing of the contract and completed their work in just a couple of days. The rubber roof was replaced with rolled bitumen and a slight slope was introduced to make this feasible. Upon removing the rubber roof, they noticed damage to the plywood from water in some areas and immediately called and provided pictures, so that we could make an informed decision. They also noted some gutter issues on both the house and garage. The additional work ended up being $2750. They provided discounted labor rates on the additional work found and we moved forward with all of the work they recommended. The owner, Larry Tansey, was very communicative at each stage of the process and explained things in detail. I would absolutely hire Tans again to do work on my home.

Excellent! This looked like an impossible Project. The downspout was leaking at the top of the front bay on the third floor, in an impossible-to-get-at area. TANs showed up on time (as always) and was confident on what needed to be done. They inspected each section of the downspout and knew a few sections needed to be replaced, as it was possible that was causing the leakage. They ended up replacing 30 feet of matching aluminum downspout, with zip screw fasteners, and new matching straps. They cleaned out all debris. They gave us a VERY REASONABLE quote and actually came in LESS than the quote when the project was finished. By comparison, I had 2 other contractors bid on the project. One was a disaster – showed up 4 hours late to inspect, took a look at what needed to be done, looked horrified, and said he needed to get back to me. He never did. The other clearly didn’t want the job – he basically wanted to dismantle all the gutters and his quote was THREE TIMES that of TANs. He never actually wanted to discuss repairing – only replacing. It took him nearly 10 days to prepare the quote – and I had to keep calling him and reminding him that I was still waiting. We have worked with TANs many times in the past and they have always done excellent work. They are a “go-to company” for me. All the rave reviews on Angie’s List are well-deserved.

It seemed odd that they sent someone out to take pictures who knew little about roofing and could answer no questions so I was initially not inclined to follow up on proposal that was higher priced than others. But we had some unique needs (tight timeline, interior mold issues, existing roof construction method) and found Tan's to be very flexible and responsive as we explored options. The solution we ended up with involved Tan's tearing off the existing flat roof, removing insulation batts, scrubbing mold spots from rafters, and laying a new roof (plywood, insulation and roofing material). We then had foam insullation blown in from interior, drywall patched and painted by others. The work was done in a week and the crew was hard working and quality conscious. But there were issues with the parapet wall mortar and trimming the old roofing material that were ignored. I had to point out these visibly inadequate aspects that a knowlegable manager/forman should have been identifying as extra work earlier. Tan's did come back subsequently to do the extra work. We are satisfied with the overall results.

Roger, the man who met me, was very polite and professional. He went on the roof with me and AGREED that the roof had been properly flashed, so that was not the problem. We discussed the possibility of adding a second downspout. We also discussed a new roof hatch. When the bid came, however, it was for new flashing--exactly what Roger agreed was NOT necessary--and it was over 20% higher than the other bid. The bid for the roof hatch was very high. I was VERY disappointed, to put it mildly.

Larry at TANS is the person to speak with. He gets everything done. He is responsive and returns calls promptly. The job started out okay but there was a big change in the job once the roofers tore off the first layer. It was not an easy job and I was not happy about the big changes. However, TANS was able to do the work for a very fair price. The roof was inspected and passed with flying colors.
