I wasnt' at home when it was done but he sent pictures and a detailed explanation of what was accomplished. I had a few questions and he was quick to answer.

Found TQR on Angie's List and saw nothing but great reviews so I called Larry and he had a guy come out give me a quote within 2 days. The quote was detailed and Larry walked me through the scope of work line by line. His customer service was top notch. I must have emailed him 20 different times with random questions and he was always quite to reply and very polite. I was quoted a 2 day job, but due to weather it turned into 4 days, nothing you can do about that. The finished product was worth every dollar. I will definitely recommend TQR to others. Its such a relief to get such great customer service. Thanks Larry!

The man who inspected the roof was courteous and personable. I received an estimate from Don Bohs of the Elston Avenue office in Chicago for a BRAND NEW ROOF and GUTTERS, totaling $16,400. As it turns out, this appeared to be a classic example of a company making the most of an ignorant customer (single woman). Two architect friends saw the roof and said the roof was in fine shape. Jeff Johnson (Johnson Roofers) repaired a loose gasket on the roof, and a small hole (probably made by a mouse), for $65. He said there was nothing else wrong. I would never call Tans Roofing again. Update re. Tans' response on April 30 2014: Further reflects this company's dishonesty. My roof was in very good shape. The repairs that he noted were very sound and I had two architect friends (independently of each other) examine the roof, as well as a general contractor.

They gave me an estimate, but it was just too expensive. They were nice when I spoke with them.

I have used him before through Angie's List. They gave me a free estimate. The last time they did a nice job on the garage, they ran a little more than other providers, but they used winter guard and ice shield around the edges of the garage. They were very professional, and they did what they had to, and finished the garage roof in 2 days. They ended up having to come out several times, because we had a lot of snow, but I would follow through. I don't have any concerns with them. They had forgotten about my first visit, but they called back and apologized, and sent somebody out once the weather cleared. He was here on time each time he had to come here. I may get one or two more estimates for the job, and if I don't I will use them based on the previous experience that I have with them.

We were very happy with the work. We had a few issues along the way but I would definitely use them again. The initial estimate had a serious mistake in it and was, therefore, far too low. The actual price ended up being significantly higher. This wasn't a huge issue for us because their low estimate was not the primary reason for us choosing them. They did apologize and offer a good discount for this. We have needed a couple of additional things fixed since the original roof & gutter replacement, and I felt these additional issues should have been noticed and addressed (at extra charge) at the time of the service. The roof and gutter replacement was done very professionally by people who clearly cared about the quality of their work. One of the deciding factors in us picking this company was they were willing to go above and beyond in helping us deal with the inevitable in-attic clean-up after the roof replacement. We requested this from all the other companies that we had out for quotes, and we were willing to pay extra for this additional work, but all the other companies said that they do not do that type of work. This company was very willing to do the extra work: they put down tarps ahead-of-time, and charged an agreed-upon few extra hours for the service. They were very willing to take that additional work off our hands so we did not have to call a different provider. This was a big relief to us, and other roofing companies should follow suit.

Great experience with Tans. Within a couple of hours of initial contact a crew came out to repair a fairly large downspout that came down in a recent storm. Afterward I realized that a bit of siding had become loose and needed to be secured. I sent an email on a Saturday and someone came out same day and the issue was resolved. Price was very fair for the work done.

They came on time and finished in two days as they predicted. We need to wait for a heavy rain to make sure the leaking has stopped, but everything looks good. I will call them to do some more work on my house

When told by everyone that I consulted about upgrading our flood control that we could NOT continue to have our gutters drain into our sewer, I looked at the downspout on the north side of our building, surrounded by pavement and envisioned additional thousands in expense. By this point, we had the plumbing part under control, but winter was approaching, Tan's was one of the first companies that I spoke to, they scheduled a date for someone to come out and take a look so that they could give us an estimate. In the meantime, I called other companies, but everyone else was booked through the remainder of the year. The gentleman arrived from Tan's, I explained the issue, he took pictures and measurements and told me that I would be emailed an estimate. When I received the proposal, although my general rule is to get three competing bids, I was so surprised by the simple, elegant solution that they had come up with, as oppose to what I had envisioned (jackhammers breaking up concrete, trenches being dug, etc.) and at such a reasonable cost, AND they were willing to do it yet before winter set in! Signed off and emailed it right back to them... AND...then it snowed, and winter was here to stay! (and wasn't it a lovely one? lol) But, at last, the week before last, enough of the snow had melted away, that we tentatively scheduled the project for last Wednesday. Of course, I woke up to snow last Tuesday, but fortunately it did melt and yep, they were here, ready and able Wednesday morning, and *whew* although I fretted about them having a problem getting it down and managing to keep it intact, they did indeed pull it off. Thank you Tan's, for the simple, cost effective solution and the great execution!

Tans provided me a quote promptly, and showed up when promised. Their crew was professional and efficient in the replacement. I intend to use them for future roofing work.

I can't say enough good things about Tan's Quality Roofing as well as Eugenio, the foreman on our various jobs. I've used Tan's exclusively for roofing and gutter work and they are always responsive, thorough, honest, punctual, and professional. It's clear that Eugenio takes pride in his work. After a roof leak fix on Jan 8, a very cold day, he called after a subsequent snow/melt cycle to ensure there were no leaks. I would not hesitate to entheusastically recommend them to friends and neighbors.

They worked in very cold weather worked hard. I am not able to go up on the roof to see how the work is, but we will check in the spring.

I was very pleased with the results I got from Tan's. They weren't the lowest estimate I got, but the quality of the work was very high. I think I got a fair price given the quality of the job overall. There were a couple of days where the crew couldn't work due to extreme weather, and the owner was very upfront with information regarding why the job had to be delayed. No runaround. I would use these guys again in a heartbeat.

Two very polite men arrived at exact time of appointment and quickly and carefully installed the two windows. They were done in 15 minutes. They were very careful walking through my garden and very careful of handling the custom storm windows during the installation.

I sent an email and left a message after hours about an ice dam issue I was having. The owner responded the next morning(early) by email with options and thoughts. He was very professional and listed out all options in a clear and concise way. I will definitely refer them or use them in the future for any roofing needs. Great customer service.

ssWe had one person come out and talk to me about the job. I offered some pictures we had from a masonry group that they could use and they did but never took their own. I waited about 3 weeks and had to follow up multiple times to get the first quote. When I received the first quote it was for a flat roof which we did not have. I did speak with someone that was very helpful and resent the foreman. The person I talked to agreed that the proposal was incorrect and also that it didn't even make sense. The foreman and his team looked at the work again and they said they would re-quote the job. After about another 3 weeks (which did include the holidays which I totally understand) I started calling again for the second quote. I talked to one person that said he would email me the new quote. I never received the quote. I then called again and talked to yet another person that took my information and said someone would get back to me. We are at about 5 weeks since the foreman came out and still no quote or call from them. If the job was too small I would prefer the company say they do not want it vs. the drawn out response. They may do quality work but the customer service and follow up was extremely disappointing.

Tan's was one of the companies I called after buying a new house that had a few gutters that needed re-pitching. They had also not been cleaned out possibly ever in the past 10 years since the house was built, plus I noticed one section not draining, so it was more than a cleaning job. Some of the companies that got back to me seemed more focused on just the cleaning part, and any repairs were up in the air. Tan's, being a roofing company, seemed more qualified and experienced about cleaning and making repairs. They gave me an estimate for cleaning and re-pitching, and when they discovered some drainage problems because of the house settling, they were able to make adjustments to the gutter design to make the repairs more cost effective. Plus they found some broken elements and were able to fix everything in the same day. It was a lot of work to be done to gutters that probably never had regular repairs and they did it all in one day, so I was very happy.

i was fooled into believing this company was legit. i got a contract quickly (12/23) after they looked at my chimney issue. I immediately sent an email stating I approved the contract. I did not hear back and left a message for someone to contact me. i thought it suspicious no real person answered the phone, only got voice mail. I followed up on 12/27 with another email asking about whether the work would be done. still no answer. I left another voice mail 12/31 for Mr. Tanner to call me about this. The more I think about it, the less I want them to do the work. My ceiling leakage has gotten worst and could have been avoided if they had come do the work while there was NO snow on the roof. I got no communication from 2 emails and 2 voice messages. There was nothing on the voice mail or email to indicate they were closed for the holidays. If they weren't interested, it would have been more forthright to have let me know they werent interested than my trusting them and getting no response. DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS.

They repaired a piece of siding that had been torn away from the house and was flapping in the wind.

Great experience overall. Estimate was quick, and the workmen were on time and cleaned up everything very well after they had finished. Slight delay in getting the final bill with the extra work (repairing the rotten/missing wood) added in, but that wasn't too big a deal. Would definitely use them again and recommend to others.

From the start, I was very impressed upon my first contact with Larry and his team. They are incredibly professional, very punctual, and very timely. They were able to have someone come out the next morning after a major rain storm hit the Chicago area and give us a few options for our roof after experiencing some water damage. We knew were near the end of life for our roof so we expected the recommendation to do a full tear-off. The estimate was fair and very detailed. The crew was very professional, and even provided photos of before and after the work was completed which was helpful (as we never see our roof!). We will be using TQR again next Spring/Summer to redo our front porch roof after how impressed we were with the work done on our home roof.

The arrived on time, were very professional and did a fantastic job. I highly recommend them.

The workers were knowledgeable, quick, and honest. Not only did they fix the problem, they fixed the flashing around the exhaust/chimney pipes as well. They went out of their way to find matching shingles and they finished the work in one day. Not to mention these guys were working on the roof in 30 degree weather! Their prices were great and when we replace the entire roof in 5 to 10 years there's no other company we'll use.

TQR did a professional, quality job for a good value. They stood by their original quote even though the roof maintenance turned out to be a bigger job than they anticipated. I really appreciate and respect the fact that they made the necessary repairs even though it was more than they took into account in their original bid. That they didn't compromise the quality of the job just to stay within budget speaks highly of their professionalism. I will definitely use them again.

Ive got a two story building,I dont climb ladders anymore.The contractor gave me a step by step pictures of removal and installation of new window,they cleaned up so that you didnt know they had been there .Excellent job
