TAKE ME FOR GRANITE INC

He took $1550 as a down payment to purchase materials. Now refuses to do the work and wont return the money. Continues to make up lies as to where the money went and when he plans to pay it back

No work done, and none of $1100 returned as promised.

I was happy with him and the process. He was very flexible like I saw him originally probably last summer and had to delay the project for number of reasons then he was really pretty good about that. He has a really good installer. They did a good job when they came. They were fast. He was pretty good about pricing because I told them I didn't want to spend too much and he had good suggestions whether you should use a back splash or not and we changed the shape on one of home and he had good suggestions on that. He referred me to a good granite people and I thought the place he sent me was really reputable and had good granite. I was able to go out and pick out slabs that I wanted. I would use them again.

It started off well because they agreed to purchase the extra stone from the slab so that I would not have to buy the entire slab for my master bath vanity. However, about 6 months later the stone cracked in two places. I found out that the stone should not have been cut the way it was near the sinks. It was too narrow. These guys do this for a living, and they should know the proper dimensions to cut the stone. I learned later that cracking was inevitable with this fabrication job. It was very unethical of Take Me For Granite to do a job that they just hoped wouldn't have problems later. Then, when I contacted them it was very difficult to get a response from them. They just wanted to ignore me. Eventually, a worker came to look at the stone and left without telling me if it could be fixed or replaced. They told me they would maybe have a fix, but I never heard from them again despite my efforts to contact them. The people I did have contact with were Mickey and Moises. I was eventually given a full refund by the contractor that hired them, but Take Me For Granite is a lousy company and avoid doing business with them. If there are any problems they will ignore you, and they don't make sure the job is done correctly.

It went smoothly from start to finish. I knew absolutely nothing about granite nor did my mother. We called a few companies for estimates to compare. Some took awhile to call back and some showed but were late and price didn't seem as competitive. When Mickey showed up, we all hit it off, very pleasant personality and fun to deal with. Not that humor is needed to install granite. Anyway, he called us promptly after left mess. I received his name from best friend's coworker; he was punctual at measurement; from that point forward, he was always on time, which I took note. He educated us on granite choices and edging,etc., and really was patient and helped us to make the decision until we felt comfortable. This was the final piece in our project and then it was done; needed to be right. Point being: Take Me For Granite was easy to work with, efficient and the job was very neatly done. I really wanted to refer him out and then a good friend told me about your site.
